You did a great job on the guitar. Aria is a fantastic guitar, and you did it justice.I have a early 72 -73 Aria Les Paul copy that looks brand new,My Dad bought it for my 13th birthday in 1973 It was my first guitar and I took very good care of it original case and all. Its still my favorite guitar and at 63 years old I play it a lot.

Really great restoration. Glad to see you kept the original finish intact and just did a great cleaning, buffing and polishing job. The 80's wear and tear looks excellent in the finished product. These Matsumoku built Aria Pro II PE's are really fantastic guitars in every way. Shame to see it was left in such horrible condition but you have brought it back to life!

Looks nice, this guy works wonders, its show room clean! .. but thats not a Floyd Rose, that is a Licensed locking tremolo under Floyd patents- but its definitely not a Real Floyd rose. If I were investing in this instrument, I would've installed a Floyd Rose 1000. Also use a tungsten block. Had a few Aria Pro IIs back in the early 80s.

Great work and beautiful old lady. 🎸 You have given a 30-40 year old guitar a second life. 👍💙 The wood of the body is mahogany as far as I could see ? The only thing I would have replaced was the pickup selector switch, it's cheap junk. You should swap the capacitors on the tone pots for orange drop capacitors. 0.47 picoferates.,even replace all 4 potentiometers with 500Kohm each. The Floyd rose idea was great! 👍 Because the wood is already so old and dried, the guitar gets a special sound and value. I also do these kinds of jobs with old guitars. If you are planning to play the instrument more musically, it might be worth because of the old mahagoni to swapp the pickups for professional Seymour Duncan pickups with decorative chrome caps. Very good work. and respect for all your projects. 👍

    1. You didnt seal the plugs, so they soaked up a lot of finish.

    3. Didnt check if the frets were still level, or if the neck had warped.
    4. Didnt check if the wiring is still operational.
    5. Removed the patina on the plastic parts, making them look new, but kept the finish worn.
    6. Kept the old electronics instead of replacing (electronics are like car tires: replace 'm when theyre old!).

The yellowing of the plastic is caused by ultraviolet light. There is a chemical that you can soak the plastic in that will remove the yellow. You need to check the gauss of the magnets in the pickups. Typically, when you restore a guitar, you replace the caps and the pots with new ones. Selector switches need to be replaced a lot of times. Good soldering. The rest of the job looked good.

That looks good. I have a Yamaha guitar that's very different but I recognize a lot of the hardware. That's gotta be late 80's early 90's. I love my Yamaha. They make solid guitars. He did a good job fixing this one up.

Congratulations as always. The work you did on those tuners : pure love (passion and patience are twins!)
Beautiful 1983 Matsumoto Aria pro II. The MMK neck humbucker is stock , but the vintage DiMarzio super distortion in the Bridge turns it into a metal monster.
The original came without the Floyd. The guy who did the routing could have done better. A backplate should cover the butchery😉

? hes reciting modes, exercises and scales, theres little or no feeling. He doesnt even bend notes. Hes great at restorations,-, hes playing as fast as he can for the sake of Playing fast, not emotive feeling.

@@DVincentW oh I'm sorry, you're right, the only real music is guitar music with bends, yeah, thanks, i will listen only to BB KING for the rest of my life, and i willl dedicate my time arguing on the internet on what's good music or not, yeah, you're my hero, my mentor.

I had a friend that I was in a band with years ago. He managed to get his hands on a an '80s Les Paul Custom when he was in his late teens. First thing he did was take it to a shop to have them install a Floyd Rose because that was a big deal at that time. As he got older he never played that guitar much because of it and regretted it. My only comment on this is that if the time was taken to mask off the fret board and polish the frets I would have down a level and recrown as well.
