I do the same but when press play. It is not playing. When I press the arp button no sound is coming up when I play the keyboard. I don’t know what to do with that
hello is it possible to start the sequence by pressing the note on the keyboard and not the play button? this would be useful to me to start the sequence in the correct key when recording with my daw or during live performances.
Many thanks to Mark DB for this handy guide, but here's the Hold/Tie bit, as I understand it, (on a newly updated MS-1 MK2, running FW 1.07):- Hold/Tie - (which, bizarrely, doesn’t seem to use the Hold button????) 1) Holding the Shift and Step (>) buttons causes all of the larger black Step # buttons containing notes to illuminate, allowing you to pick which step will be adjusted. (Location LED will change from green to yellow too.) 2) To select a specific step for adjustment, hold Shift and press a Step # button at the same time, (illumination of other steps will disappear and the selected step will flash), then let go of both buttons. (NB If you wish to return to the mode where all of the Step # buttons containing notes are illuminated, hold Shift and press any Step # button, twice). (or, If a step # button is already flashing, e.g. after applying Glide, Ratcheting, Accents or Rests, press and release a Step # button where you want to add a Hold/Tie and then,) 3) Change the length of the Step with the Tempo/Gate Length knob. (An unmodified note seems to be set at a Tempo/Gate Length of about 5). If Tempo/Gate Length is turned all the way up, a Tie into the next note will be created, with the number of illuminated red LED’s indicating how much “Hold” is applied to the selected Step #. You can check that this is working by re-playing the sequence with the Tempo/Gate Length knob turned right down - you'll notice that the lights for unmodified steps stay on for shorter times than the modified one. I'm not completely convinced, yet, that this produces a full-on "Tie", as claimed in the bottom left corner of page 63 (English) of the Manual, but it's the best I've managed, so far.
So can you record eight steps in each page? Can I have it so that four pages of sequences would play sequentially automatically? Making a total of 4x8 or 32 steps
I see it always starts to play from the last place it stopped, this is so frustrating.. it should always start at the begining of the pattern!!! if you know a fix for that please let me know..
Does anyone else have the issue that it's not possible to enter glide triggers in the sequencer? I press shift+step in order to select the step but the sequencer does not react whenever i choose a step...
@musicsfromeverywhen i am pretty sure that i couldn't use the arp or the record function, until i updated ms 101 fireware. it was a most recent one. try that! 1.7 or some such
I cannot change the note values. I press play then press and hold pattern and turn the tempo dial....nothing happens. I tried changing clock source in the synth app, still nothing works. Any ideas?
Adding glide after in step edit seems to be weird. I didn't hear the result of that but I saved the pattern and when I turned the unit back on and played it, the glide was there. Also, when playing the pattern and then stopping it, how do you make it play again from the beginning? It seems to take off from where you stopped it.
This is exactly what I needed today. Thanks a lot for your help !
Best tutorial thank you.
Excellent. Quick, well explained, no nonsense. Best video on this. :) Thank you
Thanks I found it hard to learn so wanted to make it easy .
Nice tutorial, it was very worth for me!!
Is there any way to turn off the sequencer from playing anytime you press play from an external clock?
Would you know if the same technique applies to the behringer Odyssey ?
Very helpful, thank you!
Excellent review exactly what I needed thank you ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
No problem 👍
Thank you!
EXCELLENT THANKS 😊

Thank you so much Mark!
Thanks for the presentation. I was trying those settings but now I can't trigger sequencer anymore. How to reset all changes to zero?
It’s probably set up to wait for midi input to trigger should connect it to the app and change the midi settings
@@303Guy Mark, many thanks for advice :-) I think it works now. Best Regards. P.

I didn't see how to apply hold on a note. you mention hold but skipped to rest

I trigger my MS-1 from RD-6. By doing that the pattern always starts on the first note.

to play the sequence from the beginning, you press Reset, then Play
how about using / setting swing? Is it saved with the sequence?
how would you copy a pattern page to another page ?
Just save your pattern to another slot makes a copy
thanks! the manual doesn't quite explain it properly. it was doing my head in! cheers
Nice but it will never be even close to a 303
Thank you!
Welcome!
