They should have simply copied the original, both on the sequencer and on the operation of the portamento. Also they should have added presets or done something to improve it, not just make a copy that is not as good as the original.
If I press 'pattern' while turning the tempo dial, it will not change the note values. I have tried exactly what the manual states, but with zero luck. I tried messing with different settings in the synth app, still no note value change. What am I doing wrong?
Hey there , could you please make a tutorial , of how to put the midi into the MS101... you say in 3.07 you put something thru usb ... but in Ableton I don't have the option to choose BEHRINGER

The original SH-101 was more rare in the blue and better liked by people. MS-101 was on the early months of production, then a lawsuit made Behringer change the name to MS-1.
Great! One question. If I program a seq on the MS-101, a second seq on the Crave, and a third seq on the PRO-1. Can I start all seq from one of these 3 synths ? how ?
In the beginning, how are you switching between patterns of the song? Are you able to play a pattern and have another pattern play afterwards? Or did you record each pattern separately for the song?
Any tips for beginners wanting to retro patch things like this. I've been doing synthesis tutorials but I'm still miles off hearing a sound and working out how to recreate it, or indeed having a sound in mind and creating it.
J Brown Sound on sound magazine has some great tutorials, secrets of synthesis or something. Beyond that, you can study the factory presets of the Tal Uno VST or the original factory presets of the Arturia Jupiter VST.
What are the most AFX settings (and/or presets) on the BigSky? I see you're using a Room* setting in this video. Sounds great! Seems like Room>Club is pretty close with the diffusion anywhere past 2 o'clock. (I checked the Echo Space preset, but that preset is originally Shimmer).

If you can make the investment, the AFX Station (really just a Bass Station II) is bound to be a collector's item. Get one while they are still out there if you are going that route.

Joel Swensen not sure if it can do that but I’ve noticed if you manually change sequence pattern while it’s running it does not wait for the end of the pattern, so it changes pattern instantly. This seems less useful to me than at the end of the pattern as it’s very difficult to catch the correct moment to change patterns especially at high temps. I have asked Behringer about this but no reply. Still love my ms1 though.
