Review and demo of the Wagner Control 150m, Looking at the specs, spraying and also how it compares to other units for sale. It a budget range airless sprayer. But does that mean it meets the needs of the diy painter and entry level sprayer? - Навчання та стиль
Excellent video as usual and I’ve got to say it’s always a pleasure to see someone that doesn’t patronise but gives a straightforward approach to the subject and is genuinely helpful and clearly wants to pass on acquired knowledge, I for one have started, tentatively, to spray on my jobs thanks to your videos! Keep up the excellent work
appreciate the support. Its great to hear comments that show the channel have made an impact.
What is the best unit you have used. Thankyou
@bendoherty7721 i think tritech units are fantastic. Currently got a couple T5s for sale. Fully serviced.
I use one as my daily unit.
This is really good, thank you. I am struggling to find something that is going to work, spraying 28 internal doors with water based paint. It sounds as though you have a different brand as a preferred, but I cant figure out what that brand is. Could you elaborate please?
Thanks for the vid. Very clear without unnecessary waffle. Which machine would you recommend? I don't want to spend £1000 (I will if I have to), but neither do I want something that's a compromise. Is the Wagner 250 worth considering, or would you go with something else?
@goldar4846 thanks for watching. Yes i try to keep to the point as i hate the waffling some people do.
How often are yoy going to be using it and what will you mainly be spraying?
@@sprayaholic I'd love to hear recommendation from you for a machine if not this one. I'm about spray entire flat into white. I might start a little local business to make some of the money back and paint for other people as well.
Great video 👌🏻 I am looking at getting a budget sprayer for some furniture what would you recommend this one or the erbauer? Thanks
@conorlawlor342 if your paints thin enough it would work. But the down side is not pressure control.
The Erbauer is probably the better pic still after adding a graco guard and tips. Youd probably be using close to 700ml of paint before it actually sprayed though. So bare that in mind. Wagner would be abit less.
@@sprayaholic thanks bud appreciate it 👍🏻
@@conorlawlor342 no worries
Very informative thank you. I have been looking at these, but I am sort of semi settled on the 250M, do you have any thoughts on those units? Going to be doing walls, ceilings, fences and I hope to be able to do interior trim with AllCoat suitably diluted.
Thanks for watching. Ive not tried in but heard its better. The erbaur is decent for the cost. Or look for a graco gxff or gx21 second hand as a great entry level unit and cheap and easy to repair yourself
@@sprayaholic Thanks for the speedy reply, I did also consider the Erbauer, I can get the Graco tips and guard locally as well as you recommended in another video ;-) I suppose even if it packs up its not a bitter pill to swallow to replace it and you still have the nice tips lol
@blademansw ha ye exactly that. But obviously spending abit more gets you alot more. But its a nice starter really
Hello i am struggling with spraying hvlp using tikkurila everal aqua or helmi 30. I can get them to spray nicely but seem to have to thin massively to like 50% otherwise its rough or spits
Is spray water based latex better via airless a better option ditching the hvlp for water based acrylic/latex?
Hey, what machine are you using and do you know the tip size.
I need an air less spray system that could handle latex paint without watering it down but most importantly, since it's for small projects.. I need something ideal for 1 quarts.
I'm looking at this versus Greco quick shot.
Have you tried it out?
to spray woodwork? obviously the bigger stand alone units will cope easier with thicker materials and less thinning. i always thin a little even with my bigger units. just helps it level out abit better i think.
the new quickshot is good and could a be a good choice. but for a similar budget you could look at the graco gxff cordless unit.
I bought the erbauer after watching your review on it and everything is great besides I can get the filter out of the gun as the handle is stuck solid. Any thing you could suggest or do you thing it’s time to buy a replacement gun
Awesome stuff. Have you got the adjustables on it? Sometimes you need a spanner to get it loose if its been on a while
I wish I had watched this before buying one.
I bought this Wagner today over the Eb would you say my choice was stupid 🙄
I was going to buy one of these from B&Q for £250 which seemed like a good price, but there are many reviews from people saying it leaks from the bottom.
@michaeljones3694 not had any leaks, maybe its when the sprayers failed after an amount use
@@michaeljones3694 i prefer the Erbauer
Thanks
What’s the Erbauer model?
Thanks again.
Great video as always. I was looking at these, then the 250 and also the Graco Magnum A30. Haven't found a decent review of the A30 yet, but given the poor reviews of the cheaper Wagners I might just bite the bullet and get the Graco. Not sure about the Erbauer, I've not heard good things about parts avaliability. Are you planning to review the cheaper Gracos? 😁
thanks for watching. Yes the next models up are better, and the 350 is probably similar to the A30. go with one that's got a bigger pressure output, that way you know thinning paints isn't going to be as much of an issue. The erbauer is cheap and not one to have replacement parts either. I don't get sponsored so id have to buy the units myself which I do and sell on to the followers. so unfortunately I can't buy them all
It Sprays lovely
Hello. Can you Attach a Pressure Gauge to that Sprayer and Tell Me what the Pressure is please ? Thanks adam
Hey, you probably could. But it would be abit pointless as its only got one pressure. So it wont matter what the number is, and just that the paint is thin enough to spray
@@sprayaholic Yeh Im Asking if You will Test the Pressure on that Sprayer And Let me Know what the Pressure is ? Reason is Ive got a sprayer here and i want to use the Same Pressure as the 150M sprayer you have. thanks
@@AdamMorris-gc3gd ah sorry. Its max running pressure is 1600psi
@@sprayaholic Okay So did you Attach a pressure gauge to test that ?
thanks
@AdamMorris-gc3gd no as that's the spec of the machine and it has no adjustment.
I can throw a gauge on next week and see if one fits
Alright when working, took 3 back to screw fix, DIY only, decent finish
Ye it does a job and convenient if you're stuck as a local store may have stock
Is it for latex wall paint?
@@Boca-do-rio waterbased and solvent based products. Not masonry though as its possibly too thick
A good review and I think Wagner are missing out here where graco are not, it definitely over priced for what it is but if they up grade this, a small portable sprayer when you need to do some woodwork or small room or cupboard, the design is good a hopper instead of suction and like you say put a handle on and a better pump and up the pressure, it what is needed to complete with graco
Thanks for watching. Totally agree although they are releasing a battery powered unit that is like a back pack. So some things in the works which may make them more popular
I watch all your videos, I’ve seen the back pack but I’m not sure about it I don’t think it’s practical for most jobs but maybe industrial work or working at heights I’m not sure it will be interesting when the reviews come out
I have this pain in the arse to clean and it is annoying having to fill it constantly, but if you keep an eye on it it's not so bad. Wish I went for a suction one but I've had it a while now was 250 when I got it.
@nathanrice2001 the cleaning video should be going live in a few days. Its not that bad if you know the knack
@@nathanrice2001 i bought one cheap which was sold as broken. simple O ring fixed it and good to go. Cleaning these is a doddle so dont know why you think its hard? pour out excess, clean filter area and simply wipe inside with some tissue then clean water.. all in 10 mins work. but i only bought this to test on woodwork rather than my larger airless sprayers or my HVLP, and using a 211 tip it works a treat. ideally could do with a pressure control but once you work out the thickness of the paint you can work around it. i only paid £90 so no complaints simple and easy to use
Olá amigo.
Quantas horas de trabalho por dia essa máquina consegue trabalhar?
@@tudosobreabiblia3845 olá amigo. talvez 2 dias por semana
You mean 16 hours a week? @@sprayaholic
@yellowstone2ndtrumpet304 possibly. It's not ment for extended use according to the specs. But to be fair most of the units handle more than they're supposed to. Still think the Erbauer is a better buy
Great video, would you say the erbauer or this one is better please? As I’m wanting to buy one now?
@@ThomasLonsdale id go Erbauer purely as its more powerful
@@sprayaholic nice one mate, got one on route 👌
Would this be able to spray morrells paints through this?
@jasonhoward7819 id be looking at a different set up. Maybe hvlp.
Theres no control with this pump. Its just on at max power which isnt the most powerful unit anyway.
@@sprayaholic what about the wagner control pro 250? Or the 350 model?
@jasonhoward7819 for the money i wouldn't get one. Both 1600psi max pressure. Id be looking for a second hand graco gxff if youre wanting airless.
New pumps around 100quid so easy to fix. 3000psi power so alot more control and power to play with. Just my opinion though.
@@sprayaholic I'm used to using pressure pots where I work I've taken a job on at someone's property so I thought airless would be the best way to go about it
@jasonhoward7819 have you used airless before? Its a big difference from compressor set up as its just pull the trigger and go, unlink the hvlp side where you can squeeze the trigger or dial the fan in. The airless just shoots at what ever pressure youre on.
The 250 or 350 may work ok for you with some smaller tips depends how wide you want the fan.
What is the best prayer?
@@ansvel that all depends on you budget
@@sprayaholic Let say budget version +/-
I would say firstly great review but for me if there’s no adjustment to pressure it defeats the whole point of the unit cheap is one thing but if it’s not got the basic functions I wouldn’t bother with it
appreciate it. Yes exactly that, there's different options out there with more to offer cheaper
@@sprayaholic my opinion only comes from someone like your good self that sprays for a living so to be fair it’s not market towards the likes of me but I love the channel and the content so keep it coming buddy 🙏🏻👍🏻
@MEVD2011 again appreciate the comments and support as it all helps the channel grow. But even the diy guys, theres an element of "this could have been easier if i had such and such" etc. And in this case, for the money youd have wanted alot more from it. But it did work in the end just wouldnt want to dilute everything that much and have no control
Glad i got the Erbauer!
How you finding it?
I have just bought the Erbauer paint sprayer. Because of you review.
Can you spray masonary paint with it ? Thanks
if you thinned it enough, but its not as powerful as the erbauer
@@sprayaholic what tip would you recommend thanks
@@mike.r19 id maybe keep with the 515 it came with. If you have the wagner. Or you could get the 517. You dont want to go all out spraying outside as overspray could fly everywhere. A 515 can still be controlled
@@sprayaholic thank you will try the 515 hopefully the paint will go through it 👍
@@mike.r19 you'll just need to thin it enough and it will spray
What are people using to paint bedrooms, Living rooms ect is it a water based paint and thin it down with water ?
something like a vinyl matt or a durable matt emulsion. i thin a little and yes with water
@sprayaholic Hi thank you for the advice much appreciated. Great channel by the way 👍
Both this model and the W150 are two products that only work optimally in the advertising videos! In practice, they only work occasionally. Far too much wasted time between sprayings during a day. Even with 10% dilution of wood protection products there are problems! I'm in a hurry to find another brand that I can trust!!
@jrgenries9441 yes well mainly aimed at the diy market. Im not a fan of the 250 or 350m as still low powered.
Their main units are alot better. Most brands are fine, graco, titan tritech qtech etc. It depends on your budget
graco ultra quickshotbetter than this or the same
@ramsesra200 oh alot better. And its about 4 times the price though
@@sprayaholic People buy an iPhone for the same price as a Graco. Are there paint particles in the atmosphere when painting? Thanks.
@ramsesra200 you should always wear a mask. So yes, you can get overspray but technique and tip can reduce it alot
£350...budget range!
The unit is like $220 bucks. You can't expect a thousand dollar sprayer haha
thays my point. Also that you can get a better unit for cheaper
