I have 2006 Silverado with a 6.0 with the truck Norris cam in it. I have that same issue with a long start but only after it’s hot. Starts up fine cold and hard to start when hot. All my sensors were replaced with acdelco. Still have the same issue
Thanks for the great info, I pretty much work on just Gen 3 and 4, new to tuning and never heard of removing those fuses. Might be why I have bricked a spare PCM, keep them coming
I never heard of that either and been fortunate so far but ive also been in the mechanic and programming world for years so I'm aware of voltage and ripple concerns.
I’ve bricked an ecu before I wonder if just hooking up a charger to the battery while reading would help. I did that with a handheld tuner and fixed it
In some P59 applications it does help. I have an XS Power charger that’s specifically designed for flashing ECMs and it helps. I also don’t have this issue in P59 Corvettes, P59 GTOs, and P59 swapped vehicles. I have this issue specifically with 03-06 trucks. The more power options the truck has, the worse it gets. I don’t have the issues on a RCSB base model truck with manual windows as much as I do with a crew cab leather truck with power everything and Bose. I also have this issue more, the newer the HPtuners interface that I use. MPVI3+ is wayyyy worse at doing this versus an MPVI2 or MPVI.
Just have a question, so I’m pretty familiar with ls engines and how they operate and run, but which cam would you say is the best for daily driving in a 1500 truck but also still wanting some power added and to be reliable?
Been learning alot from your videos but probubly would take me forever to tune half as good. Was wondering how much you would charge to make and sent me a tune file for a 225 cam, 3000 stall, long headers, cold ram air intake, stock new 4l60e, engine is an lm7. That is if you do offer remote tuning.
Was thinking of doing on my 04 gmc 5.3 the stage 4 223 cam but was wondering if I went with the 212 truck Norris, would I be disappointed ? And if I was going with the 223 what else would I need to upgrade?
Man where are you? Do you do mail in tunes? Have a 06 rcsb that has been v6 to v8 swapped with a summit torkinator cam. everything else stock. How can i get in touch with you, would love a tune from you if possible
I have t pull the radio fuse in my truck every time I want to write to it. It reads fine, just won't write. I tuned one the other day and had to pull a bunch of fuses to get it to write after it failed the first time Got lucky !
In addition to my last comment, my 6.0 has tbss intake and an LS3 throttle body with the 42lbs injectors from a 8.1 marine engine so I could keep my factory injector plug
Love the content man, I just picked up a Mpvi3 a couple months ago and have been learning since. Also couldn’t the delayed start also be a fuel pump check valve failure, my truck I have to wait on ignition for a couple seconds then it will start. If I just put the key and and turn it over it does exactly what that truck did, and if I turned it right after starts right up. Not saying your wrong either. :)
Thank you! Yes, fuel pressure issues can cause the delayed start, but this one is for sure the cam sensor. That pop at the end of cranking tells me that. It’s hard to hear on video but I think I have a good video of it doing it in tomorrow’s video.
Hey man I need help I have a 2005 gmc Sierra cammed and good heads and built 65e, it’s on a mail order base tune currently but for some reason when I start it in the morning it drives perfectly fine but when the thermostat opens and gets to temp my truck will shift to 2nd gear and stay in 2nd no matter what, only way around it is to pull over and restart it then it shifts super hard but shifts through all the gears like it should except I can’t get it to stay in 1st gear over like 10 mph even if I have it in “1”on the column shifter it will just shift to 2nd which sucks for burnouts because it will light up in 1st gear for 1 second then shift to 2nd where as before I could spin them through 1st for 20feet then shift to 2nd and keep spinning But only thing I could think of is my battery not giving the tranny enough power because I don’t think the battery I have is the right size but currently I have no codes except for my cats being gone. Sorry so long thanks for your help if you see this man.
@@Matt_Sanforddamn if it wasn’t low on fluid it was only up to the first dot hopefully that fixes my issue thanks man if that doesn’t what could be some more causes? Could that battery being to small cause that to
It is highly recommended to have one even if you have one just in case. I just linked one in my description that’s $35. But no, it’s not required. You just have to read on Low Speed and make sure you have a battery charger on it. Also you will want to disconnect any aftermarket wiring.
Do you have any experience with the Zero Gravity TCM 2650 Gateway? Im doing a 6L80 in a 2005 GMC Sierra and I have some questions and how torque management is going to work with this combo.
That's hilarious. My green plug on my ECU was filled with oil. Got an lm4 out of an 03 trailblazer ext from someone on Facebook marketplace and it came with the harness and PCM and TAC module and everything. I ended up going with a standalone harness from HPI. Anyways. I unplugged the PCM and the green plug was filled with oil. I was very curious how that even happened. I've started my engine a few times on the stand and the oil pressure sensor isn't leaking or anything. Interesting though.
Hi there, does the car shakes at idle? I installed it on 2009 Hummer h2 6.2l L9H on stock converter, and it shakes noticeably... I'm thinking of going back to stock CAMs 🥲
It’s hit or miss honestly. MPVI1 cables didn’t seem to have an issue. MPVI2 and MPVI3 interfaces have issues more often than not. I would rather show everyone this way that way they are aware of the issue and the best procedure versus having them risk bricking their ECM.
I managed to bricked 3 different p01 ecms is there any way to bring them back? I already tried grounding the circuit on top of the board, but still showing protocol not detected
Thanks for tip on the other fuses. I pulled radio only and built a bench unit because of it. 03' Sierra 6.0
Kudos for the no BS diag on the TB and not band-aiding it. Interested to see the change after the new TB and tuning.
Thank you! Tomorrow’s video has the answer for sure with the datalogs.

I've had that same long crank/ pop issue with a bad fuel pump too.

Matt, if we are tuning these p59 computers and just writing new files, what precautions do we need to take to ensure “bricking” doesn’t happen.
I've been looking for weeks for a single cab short bed. I can't find one.
If battery voltage is the concern, why not just put a battery maintainer on when you’re KOEO? Or is it an issue with voltage regulation KOER?
I am with u on the bench harness those are iffy
Yep. Had another issue out of a P59 truck. That video is dropping later tonight.
@@Matt_Sanford had a driver door switch get me one time that made me make a harness and play it safe with those
Gorgeous wheels!!! I'm running a set of snowflakes gloss black on 285/50r20s.
can you show how to make a smaller cam chop like a big cam thanks
what size wheels and tire size tires do you have on the truck ?

Have you checked transmission fluid? Low fluid can cause that exact situation to happen.

So you don’t have to have a bench harness for a p59 it’s just quicker?

I don’t and honestly I have heard nothing but bad things using that Gateway so far.

Need a tune for my truck how can I contact you
I wanna learn how to tune. I have truck norris cam and 😂 maybe I'll get a 5.3 and just hone that and get 799 head and ss trailblazer intake.
If you have 862/706 keep them
