I am adding a gen 3 LS iron Tahoe engine to my 67 C10. I am running a motorhome / torque cam as a grocery getter for grandma and show off, headers, 2 1/5” dual pipes. I was an ASE Master since 78, this is for me. I am running a MAF, auto with overdrive but non-electronic. It is full of the 8/10 goodies I could afford as I built it on the bench. I will fill out a sheet, mail it to LT1swap for program. My tech2 is set to read & operate the BCM. I enjoy wiring. After 7 years w/ACDelco, they gave us CD’s of TIS2WEB that contains service from 98-2004. This includes a service manual! I take photos and schematics include connector numbers, wire color, size and cavity numbers. PCM, BCM & TAC module all sit wire end up, in a slide-in pocket for each. Curious about fan cooling on - off temps. 185 degrees F on, and 182 off? Thanks kindly for sharing!
Hey Matt, First I’d like to say thank you for all of the tips that you share with your audience. You’re helping thousands of people like myself. I do have a quick question…… why doesn’t your “how to” drop down menus transfer over to the UA-cam video/ screen? For example, take a look at the last two minutes of this video and watch the part when you show the drop down menu and attempt to show how not to “brick an ECU”. I can figure out how not to do that but I figured I’d point that out to you brother. Keep up the great work and great content!! I love learning new things and I’m glad I found your channel!
Appreciate the info. I was wonder under general, engine type, my engine is not listed. I LS swapped a LS7 into a 350z. When I am in my hp tuner the 7.0 liter is not listed. What should I do about that?
Hey really appreciate your videos. I have just got into tuning and your videos are super easy to follow had a question is there anyway you could put out a video on a manual trans swap. I have swapped about 5 trucks so far and have done either a sm465 or nv450p behand all of them and it seems that when i change trans to manual it dosent rev up right and seems like it takes a long time to come back down to an idle on a free rev.
Always understood that if you turned off the short-term fuel trim open loop and disable it that it would not affect fueling when you're at wide open throttle if you left it enabled it would trim on your wide open throttle fueling
Trying to help, not trying to be an A-hole; When you're talking about fuel pressure regulators, and you talk about Corvette fuel pressure regulator, you mistakenly say, “Fuel filter”. I'm sure you meant “fuel pressure regulator”. This is right about at the 6 minute mark, +/- 15 seconds. Many people correct issues similar with a text note that pops up for 20 seconds.
I have just started watching your videos. Very helpful information. Gotta question. I can't seem to find much information on ls swap start up/tuning for a 5-speed manual. Most videos are for an automatic. What are the differences? Thanks again.
@Matt Sanford should we by disabling DFCO or PE while dialing in the VE table ? After running through this process I see in the log that the PE modifier is constantly changing the commanded EQ based on the PE modifier. With all the settings in place from this video, it seems the System Status stays in Open Loop (not engaging PE), but yet the EQ commanded is constantly changing (ie., not static at the 14.08 Stoich from the video) ? Am I missing something ?
Hello how are you happy new year I have l96 6.0 stock injectors vvt deleted Running on 24 x reloctor on gen3 ecm p01 Maf deleted What is best tuning I can use for this engine plz?
I'm looking over my current tune file from my local tuner and noticed that he didnt zero out the catalyst heating but turned off the cot would this affect anything? I have no cats and it currently runs like crap and ive taken it to multi[ple high profile tuners in the area.
At 7:17 when you explain the engine size, is that “OHV 5.3L” greyed out because that’s what’s in the file it read of the ECU? And if I was swapping in a 6.2L for example, on the “stock 5.3 file” like you have in the video, I’d update the cylinder volume as you did for your 6.0L example and that’s it as far as telling the ECU it’s a “6.2L” not a 5.3
Hey I'm new to tuning... I bought mpvi3 trying to turn off the rear o2 sensors. Working on 05 sierra 5.3l. Went to engine diag then DTCs there's a bold block behind the error mode column and the ses enable column. Any help would b great thank you
I have my 5.3 adapted to a world class T5 5 speed. Are there any changes that are critical to make for this to run correctly? In the Transmission section I see that there is an option to change it from a l460e to a manual transmission - can it really be that easy?
Under fuel injector flow rate with a dead headed system I don't understand why the injector is flowing more with a higher kpa in the manifold? The vacuum is less at a higher kpa so the injector should be flowing less due to lack of help from the vacuum. Unless the voltage going up is what is helping the injector flow more? But isn't that due to a variable voltage fuel pump? So a none variable fuel pump won't make the pressure go up when the voltage goes up. New to tuning and trying to learn. Thanks for the video.
The axis is Manifold Vacuum, not atmospheric pressure. When it references 80kpa, it’s not 80kpa of atmospheric pressure, it’s 80kpa of vacuum or approximately 20kpa of atmospheric pressure (depending on your location of course).
LS duty cycle fan control is it possible vs full on, current setup GenIII 6.0 2002 C2500 with two off the shelf fans and derale controller but it can handle only 35 amps per fan, but would like to install two fans from ford pickup truck using duty cycle controls to avoid running them at full speed thus less noise. Thanks.
How can hp tune ls swap on 240sx with 5.3 lm7, ls1 fuel injectors and intake manifold with 102 throttle body, and t56. What changes do i need to do ro make it run perfectly correct?
The table for Flow VS kpa. If you are not running a vacuum reference, is there any way to know how to scale the table instead of it being flat line? I know that scaling would be depending on the injector but was wondering if there was a math formula or anything to figure it out
Usually you can find that info in the data that hopefully come with your injectors or you can reference a vehicle that doesn’t have vacuum reference but has the same injectors if they are factory. C5 Corvettes, F-Body Camaros, and 2004-2007 Classic trucks have non referenced data.
Will this work as a safe way to start a rebuilt motor and do break in? I don't want to blow my cam and will need to seat the rings, no reputable dynos in my area. Rebuild 2002 6.0 to a 408 stroker with a mild cam and Fast intake.
Thank you for getting back to me. With your videos as well as several others I feel confident I'll be able to tune the engine Maf, timing and speed density in the correct manner. I figure I'll need to obviously change the cylinder vol. to match my engine. I'm hope to get advice from an experienced tuner on what baseline to start from. I've considered that because I have more cu in I'll need more fuel and air otherwise I risk not being able to start. Probably increasing both by the same percentage as my increased cu in. I've been told that during that first half hour while the cam is breaking in and the engine is coming up to temp is when I need to set my idle and see how far off my mixture is. Being a little bit lean won't damage anything given I'm just idling and at the other end I don't want to be hugely rich and wash the cylinders. Is there anything else you are aware of that should be adjusted for first start?@@Matt_Sanford
New MPVI3 owner, cant turn off my rear o2's am I missing something? I can highlight the codes but can't check off the ses light nor switch it to none reported. Any help is appreciated.

Highly appreciated what you have done here my friend. I just got my HP tuners and been watching many videos but this by far nails it 💪🏻👍🏼🫡
Im glad I came across this, I’ll be trying to start my swap in the morning
Really appreciate your videos and going into details for a new swap starter files and to explain why you do certain things. Thank you !

I am glad I came across your UA-cam channel. You have helped me tremendously
Big thank you for putting this out there
Really helped me get through this LS swap
Thanks for all that information! I'm new to this I really didn't know it was that serious😂
Watching all ur videos to help out with view time cant wait for the gen v stuff
Awesome video very informative and useful.💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

How do we go about adding more power? Or moving to Maf tuning? I tried going to Maf and it ran lean AS hell.
What do you do if you’re running a non electric trans?(700r4 or th 350)
Hello how are you happy new year
I have l96 6.0 stock injectors vvt deleted
Running on 24 x reloctor on gen3 ecm p01
Maf deleted
What is best tuning I can use for this engine plz?
What about when is a trans swap? Only have to put manual in the transmission side?
Runs a tad better but I think I got a bad sensor or something different, Anyway I could email u log file and dtcs for a gander?

Just curious , what would happen if you an ecm that came off a vacuum guided fuel and you put a dead head without changing tune

Is this different from the drive by wire green and blue?
What about drive tuning? If you have a stall what would I need to update?
Very helpful
What all will a person need to get goin with HP tuners?
I have a 99 5.3 truck id like to swap the drive train in to a 79 foxbody!

If you have set off VATS, is there any way to get the ECU to work again?
How do you make changes if your engine was dbw to dbc
So freakin helpful
Thanks !
Will this be same for GENIV
Can you send hp tuner swap file for 240sx ls swap 5.3 lm7 motor with t56 tranny.

This tuning video is more for a stock engine. The process is similar for yours but you have some things that will definitely need further tuning.
