FINALLY Someone showed a complete pc build guide not skipping anything!!! Well Done and very informative. This should be the Gold Standard for building in the 5000X!!!
very interesting parts choices, glad that someone builds a pc with a not so updated components in 2023 a verry good alternative for todays midrange lineup
I appreciate it mate thanks - not everyone can afford the latest and greatest and its good to build systems with new and older components. I just love building them tbh - thanks 4 watching 👍
Just built a rig today almost exactly like this, except with Corsair Ram and a 4070 Ti and this video was so useful. Built loads of PCs before and had decided on this case and came across this video and so glad I did. Having watched it beforehand it made me know to buy USB 2.0 a splitter which avoided a headache, I got a really nice Corsair 4 port magnetic one on offer. Also was a great video to have on while building this with my son for his first PC. Not built one for a while so was a good reminder and some really useful tips for this case specifically, I wouldn't have thought to add the cable straps in that way. Helped me get a really tidy build and definitely the best cable management I've ever seen. Great case, great video, thanks!
I really appreciate you commenting and great to hear it helped 😊 always makes me happy and worth while making new vids. Thanks and merry Xmas to you and your son.
I bought this case (5000X RGB black) exactly 1 year ago and I love it. Looks amazing, holds everything I need and keeps the insides cool. These videos don't always give its look the justice it deserves but it's definitely premium and slick as hell. Mine sits on an IKEA UPPSPEL cpu stand with castors for when I need to roll it away for cleaning the room floor or whatever. The glass is solid, the mesh filters are easy to remove and clean etc. I don't do liquid cooling so I can't speak how well that's handled but other than that, everything went into the case just fine. Tons of 3.X usb in the back, 2 on the front along with USB-C. Had many cases over the years but I'd say this is easily one of the best I've used. It fits all this no problem: - PSU - Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 Gold Series 1200-W - Mobo - Gigabyte AORUS MASTER Z690 E-ATX - CPU - Intel i7-13700K - CPU cooler - chromax black noctua nh-d15 (2 fans) - DDR5 Kingston Fury 64GB (2x32) - 3 X Samsung Evo 2.5 SSDs - 1 X 4GB 3.5 HDD WD RED - 1 X 8GB 3.5 HDD WD RED - 1 X 2TB KC3000 PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD - 1 X 2TB WD BLACK SN850X PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD - GPU - XFX Speedster MERC 319 AMD Radeon RX6950XT Black (34cm/13.39" length with room left over)
Thanks for the great and detailed comment. I'm glad u love the case, and I totally agree there is not much you can't do in this case 😀 oh and nice build you put together, too. Good job 👏 👍
Huge thank you for going slowly. This is my first pc build and the other videos I saw from other creators, while I'm sure are useful to some, were not useful to me as they absolutely flew through the cable connection part of it.
I am getting this case as well. Looks very nice. And your build as well. Well done! I also zipty everything. And use different 8 pin braided GPU connectors that are single so you don't have an extra cable hanging out. Also a tip for people building a PC. Try to use 2 stics of ram instead of 4. Just buy bigger ones. If you don't use XMP it will be okay to have for, but 2 is more stable, for sure when using XMP.

I got one case, the same, but unfortunately it came broken. Tomorrow I am getting the replacement. I don't use SSD drives but nvme.2 which I attached to the MB. This way I don't have to run cables. I also ordered the power supply "shift" where the cables are sideways at the back of the MB.

Superb Video - of knocking a system / rig up using Corsair 5000X/D Case, I may order one to go with an Corsair 850x, I7 G14 PC with 64 GB, 790 Board, 3070 Nvidia with 2-3 X AIO with proposed 4 Air Fans = 6-7 Fans into. Will the 7 Fan be sufficient for my mid term spec build ?
Looks awesome mate, really nice case that. Wasn't a huge fan of Corsair cases more of a Lian Li man myself lol, but they are improving a lot. Great video as always pal 👍
Thanks Matt - in my heart I'm lian li but in the brain I'm corsair. They really thought of the customer here and given the cost around £160 it's really nice experience to build in and given what you can do its great 👍 thanks as always 4 the support 😀
@@TechCheckUK Yeah looks great and really good value as well, their new Link system for fans looks promising as well, much cleaner than the old Commander Core/Pro solution. They are definitely moving in the right direction. Take care mate 👍
@mattp1680 yeah I agree matt the link system looks great, just the cost that puts me off plus the additional cables they should include with the fans but don't. Take care pal
You need a pop filter mate :) By the way, you (or who ever) should have chosen the Corsair SHIFT PSU serie, it makes so much sense in that case. The connectors are on the side of the PSU and makes it feel less cable "messy".
It's because my primary mic wasn't working and had to use back up audio mate. Yes I like the new shift series and I agree smarten the mess - appreciate u watching
the only drawback for this case are the glass panel. I de-install them with case in vertical and when was time to put them back with a minimum slip they barely touch the floor and shattered in thousands of pieces... I replaced one side with plastic plexiglass, not done the other yet. still the replacement is not as nice as the glass it come originally.. they are really too fragile.
Aw sheet sorry to hear that 😢 I've not had that experience but I'm super careful as I'm aware of the mess and issues in replacing them. Really appreciate your feedback and thanks for watching.
Sounds like a textbook case of letting the glass come into contact with a tile floor. Tempered glass has a weakness and that is materials with a higher hardness ala ceramic tiles. I think it's very foolish that the manufacturers don't put this info in a warning, so many people shattering the glass building their PCs on granite countertops or tile floors. There's no way to know about this weakness of tempered glass without researching online or having it happen to you.
Thank you so much for the reply. I was actually wondering if the 500d RGB SE version is a better buy than the Aquarious plus? You have mentioned the 5000D as being better but what about the older 500d se RGB @@TechCheckUK
@mohammadmohsin1546 this is one of my favourite cases all time - looks better and is beautiful 😍 just depends on cost of purchase but the 5000 series have better airflow and more compatibility
It all comes down to personal taste and both are great cases but also very different - lian li is dual chamber and more fish tank look whilst the 5000 offers loads of flexibility and easy to build in. Also depends on budget for case and fans along with controllers.. both are great and both perform brilliantly so good choice 👌
Hey bro, I made a similar setup for my friend, but used Corsair 4000x, 2 fans at top, 360 AIO Corsair cooler at front panel with 4060. I was super shocked with the silence of the case, no any fan wind noise even in hard task. I was thinking to use this 5000X with the all same of fans that you made with 4070Ti for my own. Would you recommend? I'm curious about the noise of fans.
The sp120s elites are great budget option as they are less than ql120 and look great and tbh perform really well. All depends buddy on what fans u have atm, budget etc. Tbh u would have no issues with noise in the 5000x case loads of room and quality case with good airflow too
Is there a reason why you went for the SP 120 fans instead of, say QL 120 or QX 120? If price isn't an issue and only performance and RGB matters, which fans would you choose?
I tend to opt for sp120 for more budget friendly builds as less expensive - Qx are the more and improved older QL120 fans - rgb better and more LEDS along with much easier to cable mange - I have a few videos on the channel showcasing them. Qx120 would be my choice mate but they are expensive
@@TechCheckUK Thank you so much for the reply. I got the QL 120 in my 5000T, but I'm not satisfied with their performance and from the few reviews I've seen that benchmarked the QX 120, they don't really seem any better when it comes to airflow and static pressure. I'm not sure the QX would be an upgrade, performance-wise. What's your overall impression with the QX120's performance when it comes to airflow and radiators?
@@cablesalad3168 performance wise they are slightly better than the ql120s but aesthetics wise and every other part really good. they are not a performance fan thy are more of a hybrid fan tbh more design and looks over performance but i have no issue with the 360 h150i link and my 7950x3d - you will never beat nochtua or phanteks t30s in this regard
I’ve problem with monitor, I tried follow you as much as possible. The system boot up fine, I guess. But when connecting my monitor to any hdmi port either the gpu or motherboard It said not detected device on the monitor. I connected a mouse in the usb port it lighted up. So I guess something is correct but not fully. Have you encountered such a problem? What should I do?
If u have a graphics card ALWAYS connect to that only. Next ensure monitor is connected to correct source - hdmi 1 etc and is powered. I would also suggest connecting both keyboard and mouse mate 👍
Hi Tech, like this vid! I have the MSI Z790 Carbon Edge WiFi board. Where would you suggest I plug the Corsair 7000x's PWM cable into onto my MSI board. And the PWM cable is pretty short and just barely can reach the ports on the bottom of the motherboard. Thx in advance for any help with this! Oh and the 4 pin connections available are SyS Fan1 and SYS Fan2, 2 USBs, and a SYS Fan3. Of course I want to control all the RGB and Fans through icue.
It want make any difference about the pwm as long as its connected to a system fan header mate - if too short get some extenders off amazon and it will give u more cable to work with. For rgb just ensure you connect in order so when in icue the fans light up in sync
Yes mate totally possible - The pull portion fits tight with the dust filter and the top metal grill but it does fit. They are meant to take regular size fans.
Hi great vid ive just seen where u install the rad and then u popped the mesh/filter bk on , did u say its best not to have it there, would that include the glass? As ive left my filter and glass on 😊
Hi mate thanks 4 watching. Yeah I personally don't have the filters on as stops the fans working optimally especially when it's exhaust - u don't need them only on intake to filter the dust.
Quick question, 7months ago? How come you didn't build a 14th Gen Intel CPU, PC? With supporting motherboard, like i did, but mine is all Corsair iCUE link throughout with the command centre too. :D
@TechCheckUK do you by any chance have a link for the USB header splitter? I found it on Amazon, but it's unavailable. I only find it on eBay that will take weeks to arrive from China.
Heya. I'm hoping you can help with a problem I ran into when I first started my new build up. Same case but a MSI Mag B760 Tomahawk Wifi DDR5 Mobo. I had everything connected correctly, or so I thought, but first boot I got a quick warning message saying something about a power surge detected in the usb and that it was going to power off to protect from damage. So I decided to unplug the usb2 cable that links to the thing at the back. Started it up and it all seems fine now but, that usb2 connector isn't plugged into anything right now and I'm a little worried to try the 2nd usb2 slot for it :D I think its the RGB thing on the back but I have no clue with RGB stuff. My last build 10 yrs ago didn't have any :D So, any thoughts on why I might have got the warning? I mean it is supposed to go into the usb2 port right? Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated. Cheers
Hi mate it can only be 3 things. 1- too much power draw from that usb 2.0 header on mobo. 2- incorrect serial bus driver installed or none at all. 3- faulty usb device connected You can also change power mode settings to prefer maximum performance. I hope this helps Regards
the fact it needs a video says it all. This case is a nightmare, unless you want to spend a bunch of extra time configuring it. It is the size of a full tower and sold as a mid. Your little cheer at the end tells the tail of how much of a nightmare it is. I will never build in another one of these. How much did corsair pay you to sell your soul? Been building since 1997 and never had to work so hard to get a machine together.
Yes this is a large mid tower case and yes it can be complex BUT that's the whole point 👉 ability to customise and setup how you want. It's not difficult to build in and offers plenty of options. The cheer at the end is the same in every build. Sounds like your not a fan which is a shame as the case is great. Corsair didn't pay me anything as I buy all my own parts and not sponsored but you would know that if u watched any of my other videos. Thanks 4 watching
big bulky and too large to be considered a mid tower. I have built in the corsair 4000 series and it went well the plate over the edge of the board is ridiculous. I am not a fan of the case, glad you are. @@TechCheckUK
@genlongtsang1093 no problem mate- I always use the one that came with the AIO as its all in one and easier but the case ones work the same. Thanks again 4 watching
I didn't choose the parts only built the system 600w psu would have been fine with gpu and cpu combo BUT I guess it was a good choice as the client now has a 4080 and happy.
@@TechCheckUK Ahh okay, just about to built my pc and looking into thing but I have ordered the commander pro as I have 10 fans I wanted to all work together so was worried I had ordered the wrong thing
@@TechCheckUK What did you need a 3rd USB 2.0 header for anyway? The Lighting Node Core (that comes in the case) uses one header, and the Commander Core that comes with the AIO uses one header...so what was the 3rd?
Apologies never get any other comments on this but appreciate the feedback but I can remember on this I narrated over instead and must have had the mic too close 😅
Personally I love the 5000x case, what do you think?
I've been using 4000x for the past few months
And it's rocking already and I'm loving it !
I have the same case, the only con is the vertical GPU mounting position being too close to the glass panel.
Yeah I built about 20+ systems in that case love the size and what you can get inside It. Thanks 4 watching and good job on the build 👍
Great point it wasn't to bad with 20 series as only 2 slots but now 3+ slots it's too close and can get too high temps for my liking
is it the mid case?

For rgb just ensure you connect in order so when in icue the fans light up in sync
its possible push pull on the top with water coolers ?
Yes mate totally possible - The pull portion fits tight with the dust filter and the top metal grill but it does fit. They are meant to take regular size fans.
Do you think you could use a 1000w power supply on this build and be fine ?
Yeah it will be fine - its a little overkill with a 3060 but won't ever do any harm mate
Did you remove the pre-appied thermal paste on the aio before tou added your own thermal paste?
Yes mate i did - personally i always do BUT this is not needed if you dont have any of your own. thanks 4 watching i appreciate it
Hi great vid ive just seen where u install the rad and then u popped the mesh/filter bk on , did u say its best not to have it there, would that include the glass? As ive left my filter and glass on 😊
Hi mate thanks 4 watching. Yeah I personally don't have the filters on as stops the fans working optimally especially when it's exhaust - u don't need them only on intake to filter the dust.
Thanks for the info mate
Appreciate it 🙏
Quick question, 7months ago? How come you didn't build a 14th Gen Intel CPU, PC? With supporting motherboard, like i did, but mine is all Corsair iCUE link throughout with the command centre too. :D
Because this was for a customer who already had purchased the parts and only had a certain budget. Sounds like you built a best good job.
My screws on the right side of the side fans bracket don’t line up when trying to put it back on. Am I missing something?
Have u got the bracket upside down.mate I sometimes make that mistake too
@@TechCheckUK I checked for that too. They’re close but I really have to force it to get it lined up. The left side lines up perfectly.
Sometimes there is a difference in tolerances mate 👍
can we install AIO pump on side vertically ? where you installed 3 fans
Hi mate you can use a 360mm AIO at front, side or at the top 😀 thanks 4 watching 👀- good luck on the build 👍
@@TechCheckUK you mean we cannot install AIO radiator at side . thanks
Yes you can mate
@TechCheckUK do you by any chance have a link for the USB header splitter? I found it on Amazon, but it's unavailable. I only find it on eBay that will take weeks to arrive from China.
amzn.to/49dm4za hope that helps mate 👍
3- faulty usb device connected
You can also change power mode settings to prefer maximum performance.
I hope this helps
Regards
the fact it needs a video says it all.
Thanks for posting the video it was helpful.
I appreciate it thanks 😊
Totally understand mate not for everyone
Looks sweet but 10 fans worth of cooling is overkill for a 3060! LOL.
yep atm with the 3060 but the customers plan was to always upgrade when they had more money
wait, corsair website says that it doesnt support 420mm rads
Nope it doesn't mate that's why I used a h150 as per description mate
@@TechCheckUK oops! sorry. thanks for fast reply!
@sergipol99 no worries mate 👍
Nice build but the cooling costs more than the components 😆
Haha I know mate 🤣 I tried to tell the customer but they had already purchased everything.
if i get this case, do i HAVE to get all corsair branded cooling?
No mate u don't BUT WOULD make sense as you get inc a rgb hub and fan hub too but totally up to you mate 👍
@@TechCheckUK thank you!
@ligokleftis no worries mate 👍
Can it run rainbow six siege and live stream on it ?
You would need a better gpu mate 3070 would be fine
Does the case come with commander core, i have a 4000x and didn’t come with the commander core
No the AIO comes with commander core - the case does have a cheaper rgb hub and fan pwm hub built in though
@@TechCheckUK i thought they stole the commander core thing when building my pc, i'm new at gaming pc
@genlongtsang1093 no problem mate- I always use the one that came with the AIO as its all in one and easier but the case ones work the same. Thanks again 4 watching
@@TechCheckUK how do they work i'm new at gaming pc
@genlongtsang1093 you put the rgb connector into rgb hub and then 4 pin pwm into fan hub
J'ai fais tout ça , j'ai la fan 1 qui est pas reconnu et 3 autres fans pas reconnu....
Malheureusement, vous avez fait quelque chose de mal avec votre partenaire, car c'est exactement ainsi que vous procédez. bonne chance
So cheap of Corsair to not include 4 fans in this case.
Yeah would have been nice to see an included rear fan too
arr jee bee hobb
Don't no what this means sorry
guys
I know I'm bad 4 that!!!
Blud why 1200 power supply for a 3060😂
I didn't choose the parts only built the system 600w psu would have been fine with gpu and cpu combo BUT I guess it was a good choice as the client now has a 4080 and happy.
1200w for a 3060 💀
Yep totally overkill for cpu and gpu but I didn't choose it. Customer provided all parts mate
@@TechCheckUK eh oh well,
At least they don’t have to upgrade/replace the PSU if they want to upgrade the CPU and GPU
@@datamato yes mate that's the only good thing 👍
Doesn’t the commander pro have 2 usb connections anyway? So you wouldn’t need the splitter
No the commander core has no usb inputs at all the commander pro does but we wernt using one of those. Mobo had 2 x usb 2.0 headers and we needed 3
@@TechCheckUK Ahh okay, just about to built my pc and looking into thing but I have ordered the commander pro as I have 10 fans I wanted to all work together so was worried I had ordered the wrong thing
No worries mate 👍 good luck with the build
@@TechCheckUK What did you need a 3rd USB 2.0 header for anyway? The Lighting Node Core (that comes in the case) uses one header, and the Commander Core that comes with the AIO uses one header...so what was the 3rd?
@Ryan-kz6jc customer had an LCD screen he wanted to add after and needed another usb 2.0 connection.
Please get a filter for your mic, every P was painful
Apologies never get any other comments on this but appreciate the feedback but I can remember on this I narrated over instead and must have had the mic too close 😅
