Some of the best collections I have seen! By the way, where do you get your polyurethane foam pots? I live in horrible California in zone 9, the desert in San Bernardino County. I want to try out polyurethane foam pots for my plants and see if they grow better in those pots.

Thank you two! Hey Matt, my leucophylla AJ01 I got from you 2 years ago has not put up one pitcher so far this year. She was repotted over winter. Standard CP mix. She's out in full all day Sun. Lots of phyllodia but no pitchers. Weird. On the other hand my S. x swaniana (minor x purpurea) "Ntombi" is doing awesome.

Hang in there. Mine have done that as well and then start putting up pitchers the next year. Sometimes they seem to just need a year to re-establish.

Awesome video guys, I always enjoy seeing your amazing flytrap collection! I think SD Kronos might just be your all time favorite giant Matt☺ Almost every flytrap video I have seen from flytrapstore you show off SD Kronos haha but why wouldn't you? It truly is a special cultivar!

Haha, it is true, we absolutely love SD Kronos!! I keep acquiring new giants as they come out and some are impressively large but I've still not found one that is as consistently large as SD Kronos!

Would be cool if you can put together the 10 giants ( b52, kronos, alien, , dxcl etc.) for 2024

Have you guys thought about getting 'Wine Mouth' ? Interesting dark coloration on that variety.

Hi Davin, I've been growing it for a few years now and have some divisions of it so we'll offer it at some point.

I was wondering when fly traps come out of dormancy and if you can tell

When Venus flytraps start growing in the spring depends on the conditions. In our greenhouses in Missouri, new growth is noticeable by late January or early February. However, when we lived in Oregon, some years they wouldn't really put out much growth before April. Basically, when temperatures are consistently above 70 during the day, and the days are at least 12 hours long, flytraps will break dormancy.

Is there any dionaea truly anthocyanin free? All the green forms still can get some red on the traps.

I am pretty sure that all of them have some small amount of anthocyanin but Grun is one that stays pretty much all green for me.
