First time buyer. The packaging was beyond top notch... Really amazing conditions the plants arrived in. Great reds and BIG cultivars arrived in perfect condition. Would order again!
Thanks so much for the kind feedback! We do our best to ship only the healthiest and most impressive plants so it's nice to hear from happy customers!!
Thanks for pointing out the red stigmas! That’s pretty cool. I’ll be watching my flowers even more closely.
Aren't the red stigmas kinda cool?!! I have seen a photo, many years ago now, of a red-leafed Venus flytrap that had a flower with red petals. I can't say I've ever seen that in person but hope to one day!
@@MattMillerFlytrapStore that would be an amazing sight!
Thanks Matt! Mine have all been out of the fridge since February and are now outside hardening off. Their 15th year of fridge dormancy. I always cut off my flower stalks. All got a re-pot this year.
Congrats on a yet another successful fridge dormancy! Have a great growing season this year Tommy!
I've successfully grown a Walmart flytrap for 2 years now so seeing all these varieties has me considering purchasing some of these wonderful varietiess.
That is so cool. Love seeing your collection. Hope to place another order with you again soon. Most of my plants are doing pretty well this spring. I think it's awsome hummingbirds come to your greenhouse.
Thanks!
Yeah, seeing the hummingbirds is always neat. They're usually more interested in the Sarracenia but one this year was licking on a flytrap flower. Was too slow getting my camera up to catch it in action though!
@@MattMillerFlytrapStore Oh I hear you on that. Those hummingbirds are so fast for being so small. By the way. I recently got a Wine Mouth from some one and when I opened it it was all red. Is it possible for that flytrap to be all red? I hope they didn't give me the wrong plant.
Thank you very much for posting these videos, you are really helping me clear my doubts about growing these fascinating plants and have gone and ordered my first cultivars on the Internet from a supplier in Italy as I live in Portugal and don't think I can get plants in the EU from USA. Thanks again and please keep posting videos of your beautiful collection. Cheers.
Thanks so much for the kind feedback!
I let my red dragon VFT grow its flower stem, and I did so because I noticed it has a false vivipary growing on it. Still no flowers and this is the first time this occurs with one of my plants. I though it looked kind of cool. Normally I do cut them off for like the first 3-5 years to allow the plant to have vigorous growth.
False vivipary is super cool! We had a ton of it last year but not so much this year.
Sweat bees are one of the natural pollinators of the Venus Flytrap.
All my flytraps, even the Maroon Monster have flower stalks but none have flowered yet.
It definitely is a little early for flowers but having a greenhouse on a south facing hill like we do gives us a pretty good head start on the season
I brought a beautiful Big Mouth from Yall. Billy is doing great!! LOL
Just wanted to know if you can do a video on how yall fertilize yalls plants.. Thanks
Thanks for your order and we're glad to hear Billy is doing great!

Can you tell me where to find the square white pots please.
Have any cultivars been discovered that have different flower colors? Pink or red for example?
I am not aware of any flytraps that make flowers in any color other than white. Sometimes the red varieties have flowers with red stigmas and very rarely the petals can have a tinge of redness to them, but I've never seen pink or red flowers either in person or in photos.
@@MattMillerFlytrapStore Interesting. Usually flower color is one of the easiest things to change/mutate with selective breeding. I know VFT’s aren’t grown for their flowers but it would be cool to have cultivars with different colors. Honestly shocked that out of the thousands of plants bred by professionals and enthusiasts, it’s never been seen. 🤔
@@samuel5916 That's interesting. I've not done any selective breeding for flower coloration in any plants, so I know next to nothing about it. I know that some Drosera (sundews) like D. capensis have purple and white flower colors but I've only ever seen white flowers on Dionaea -- the only exception being the red stigma that shows on some red-leafed varieties. However, the petals are always white on Dionaea from what I've seen.
How do you know when to harvest the seeds Matt?
I have a VFT that has definitely set seed but I don’t want to remove them too soon.
Usually, the seed pod will pop open a bit to expose the shiny black seeds. But sometimes they never open so I just leave them until the tops of the flower stalks start going black and then harvest them.
@@MattMillerFlytrapStore that’s helps a lot!
I definitely have one pod with shiny, black seeds!
Can I plant them right away?
@@jeanettehaygood4154 yep! Venus flytrap seeds are ready to germinate as soon as they come ripe. No stratification is required.
