This is the only video I could find specifically for the Bronco. And most just show the technique to hook it up to the powered mirror with an adapter, but that method doesn't have power when the ignition is off, so you lose the motion sensing and parking functionality of the higher end Dash Cams. Thanks for posting this!
does this method allow you to have dash cam on while car is turned off?
No, but there are plenty of other fuses that are hot when the vehicle is off that you could tap into. The only issue is you don't want to run your battery down.
I don't think this guy was worried about a hiring dash cam if he spent $49. Plus his wife probably didn't want him to spend the extra money
@anthonygallo3576 why are you so bothered by his choice of dash cams? They all have 1 of 2 branded sensors. And they all suck. Go live your life.

Very nice. I thought I saw someone run wires from around the rear view mirror. I have no idea what is going on there, but would that be possible, do you think?
Maybe. My guess would be that if you have the upfitter switches, you have wires with power close at hand. I think we're the only Bronco owners that DIDN'T option those switches. ☹️
It’s dongar adapter. It just uses power from auto dimming mirror. The kit comes with adapter and 3 usb cable (type a,b and c). No more worry about wire routing like ever before. I just installed last week and it’s just easy af. Also no need to mess with fuses
@@broncobebop I have those and still want to run this to the fuse box. I want it entirely separated and be able to forget about it.
These are relatively flimsy when compared to other upgrades, and I feel you want to install as you did, especially if you need two power sources. One for ignition, and one for parking mode.

I lost a plastic clip on a brand new hatch... Somehow the middle on the right. Just snapped the plastic holding the clip right off. Seems like it was way way too many clips holding it.
Also, I notice you had the same issue I did, where the top of the windshield barely holds onto the wire... I can see that falling down continuously.
I'm thinking a couple of sections of tape wrap might widen the wire enough to actually hold under there. I left it as is to see how it holds up.
Fuse taps are ghetto. Just get the Delphi/Aptiv pin, crimp it onto your wire and snap it into the connector. Pin 2 on J3 right there is battery positive, fuse 4 and there's nothing on it. You can pull that 5A fuse you used and check continuity to see which pin it uses too. Ford uses the Apex line of connectors through MY2022. It'll either be 6.3mm, 2.8mm, or 1.5mm. being 5A, it's probably 1.5mm.

There is a pig tail that connects from the dash cam toThe rear view mirror. Done.
That's not something I saw on ours. Maybe because we don't have the upfitter switches and wiring up there?
@@broncobebop no you do have it. Check the cable behind your mirror. Unplug it and put two pins to correct holes or use a dongar adapter which just split the power wires to 2. Then connect dashcam to the usb port

I personally wouldn't take advice from a guy who buys a $60,000 truck and only spends $49 on a camera to protect it
Your choice of camera is up to you, but they're all basically the same.
The gem in this video is talk of the install kit going to the drivers side fuse box. That's where you need to connect to two states of power, for parking mode and ignition power without risking the battery charge.
