Can't believe you sell a hardwire kit at $35 Canadian and don't throw in the fuse adapters. It's essentially an overpriced box of wires.
Sir your comment stands the test of time……
No, it is a smart power supply that commands the cam to enter and exit "park mode recording". $35CDN is very inexpensive, actually.
[EDIT: there are numerous fuse form factors, since you dislike paying $35CDN for the hardwire kit you surely will dislike paying for the unused add-a-circuit components]
You realize this would increase the cost as they would need to include multiple adapters to work on every car.
@@hewster1 - They could provide an option for customers to input year/make/model.
@@MikeThePike316 what does your comment have to do with adapters?
The only proper video on UA-cam lol, thanks mate.
Yes, literally the best video for hardwiring any dash cam.
I’ve got everything installed and couldn’t find a single proper video on the fuse orientation. Great video.
honestly
Nice job. Your instructions on locating an ACC fuse was the best. And the glossary of subjects was another best.
Thanks!
Very much appreciate your video. It's clear, descriptive and clearly describes how to accomplish the project.
This video answered a lot of questions, I am glad I found it
The best guide I've ever come across. Thanks
Thanks for a very useful video, particularly on the correct way to use ‘piggyback fuses’ 👍
Un millón de gracias! porque gracias a su video pude seguir sus instrucciones e instalar mi dash cam 66 garmin sin dificultad alguna. Le agradezco infinito.
Finally found a video to explain which amperage of the fuse to use. So Jump from A to Z. Thank you.
Wow, easier than i thought. Great and easy video to follow, thanks.
Invaluable video. Just installed 800 pro with the help from this video. Thank you.
This is the video I needed! Thanks a lot
Finally, my F800PRO Parking mode is working.
The problem is on my hardwire cable, the label on the RED wire’s fuse cover stated as the Continuous supply.
Then, follow what you said on YELLOW cable to the B+, and the RED to the ACC, that’s it!
Thanks.
Few minutes I felt in electronics class. Good job 👍🏻.
Such a lifesaver video! Thank you so much!
Very well explained, thanks a lot!
Thank you so much for the video!! This is the best video I saw for installation hardware kit.
This is the BEST video.. thanks a lot for explaining each step in detail. 👍
That was exactly what I needed to know! Other sites did not mention positive and negative posts with fuses removed. Also good information on the fuse taps with the correct polarity and amperage. Thank-you👍
that is because polarity doesn't matter...

@burgerking220 yes it does you meathead.
superb explanation of how to wire the kit correctly - thank you!
Thks for this video, i washed 5 times and now i know how to wire my dashcam thank you again
What an amazing step by step instructions and a very clear, descriptive video on UA-cam I have watched on this topic. Thank you very much.
Thanks! Very helpful video. My Thinkware Q800 Pro is up and running!
Wow didn't know about fuse tap orientation. Will have to check that.
Great video very well explained
Very good explanation. Thank you.
This is fantastic and very helpful for me. Thankyou.
Thanks, best guide on YT for this
It always helps to look at the fuse layout diagram, so you know you are not tapping a critical fuse. another way to make sure you have proper orientation of your tap. first place it in, with only the tap fuse placed ( the one that will be powering your camera ) plug in tap if you have power on your tap wire, then it's placed correctly, if not, reverse the position of the tap. in any case once you know the correct position, put the original car fuse in the tap slot for it. doing it this way might be easier then trying to poke a probe into a tiny slot in a hard to reach area, less chance of shorting something out as well.
Great tips!
@@thinkwaredashcam hi I have a question. I would like to connect my dashcam into the fuse box but i dont want my dash cam run 24/7 because kill my battery. I want my dashcam turn on when i put the ignition on, plug it in the cigarette lighter is not an option because the wire would be in my way. Thanks for your help in advance
Brilliant tutorial so easy to follow correctly thanks👍
Great explanation, greetings from Poland.
Tks soo much i was looking this explication 😀
Awesome bro. In my religion we respect our teacher alot. I learnt from you. God bless you.
Good info on this wiring. Some others don't show connecting to battery & using the connections you mentioned. Think I will need someone to install for me. Only thing I did not see was the wiring coming back into the cab or how you got the wire to the battery. Since someone else will install for me, don't need to know. Maybe I missed a step. Thanks again for this video.
Excellent video, well done.
THANK YOU for this
Finally! Finally a situation where the fuse-box is under the bonnet. Not in the interior cabin. Very good point about not using criticle fuse locations.
04:30, None of the others I saw mentioned polarity of fuse slots. Excellent.! 👏😊
Very clear information 👍
Excellent video
Nice video, look out for Peak current. Thanks Holland.
Gracias, video superclaro y conciso !!!!!
Excellent job
Thank you very much
Thanks..good video..very helpful and well explained..👍👍👍

Great Video! I would like it twice if I could.
Excellent! Thanks
EXCELLENT VIDEO
Excellent!
Great. Thanks guys.
Thank you!
Thank you
Very nice presentation
2:32 constant power is not only on when the engine is off, its on when its both on and off
Helpful information
Oh man, this got dang video helped me alot I tell you hwat.thank you
Great video, thanks.
You are welcome!
good video
Thanks ❤
If you have unused fuse slots then you can insert a fuse to establish if it's switched or not.
Pro Tip: Make sure you check for 'constant power' fuses after your 10 minute battery shut down mode has past, otherwise, after 10 minutes, your cam is gonna shut off as well.
I haven't seen ONE video yet to address that
That's a great tip, thanks!
Muzzy337 The only car that matters is yours. All you need is a low voltage test light. You can search for a always on fuse to connect into after the vehicle has been standing
@Muzzy337 most car have these option on lighing and power socket to prevent battery drainage
it's time or voltage driven
what do you mean by this? i would have to wait 10 minute before looking for a constant power? so meaning close all doors?
@@blaze858j It means that some fuses stay on for 10 minutes then shut off after 10 minutes after you turn off your car. You don't want to use these kind of fuses because if you connect your dash cam to these fuses your dash cam will turn off after 10 minutes after you turn off your car. You want to connect to constant power fuses. To find which are constant and which are not look at this video : ua-cam.com/video/nINz6mKvOf0/v-deo.html
yea i didn't read the label on the wire took me awhile to figure out i wired it wrong. in a another video i seen they said red wire was the constant power....so read the wired labels ;)
Hey. Thank you for great info. İ have a question. İ attached the cars 3 amperes fuse to lower. This fuse is not in use as per car’s fuse box diagram. There was flow when i checked though.
The cameras fuse attached upper is 5 amperes. Would this be a trouble? You said it should be equal or lower. Thanks for the tips :)
Would you please give us a link to buy fuse taps that matches with my car? Honda Accord
Can I not use the ACC wire and still be able to have the Parking function? Thank you in advance.
do the amps need to be the same on both fuses you tap in to? for example if the constant is 10 amps then does the acc have to be 10 amps or can it be 20 amps? thanks
Could please give a tutorial on how to crim the wire from the hardwire kit to fusetaps? On your video at 1:25 the rubbers are transparent but at 1:35 they are change to blue ones. Did you add or change to other rubber covers? Thanks.
good lesson. i make car fuseand fuse tap .
I only have one fuse tap. I can use it for constant supply. How do I fuse tap the yellow one for acc
Many thanks for this excellent and useful video.
i understand what you said, but how to close the cover of fusebox when you installed fuse taps cables?
Need a professional installer in New Orleans since you highly recommend it. Do you know of any?
Is it okay to shorten up the dc cable (splice-shrinkwrap) - quite a bit extra coiled up????
Thanks
Legit, best hardwire tutorial. Needs more views. The troubleshooting section is something like none of the other videos have
If you made sure that you chose the correct acc fuse slot and put the fuse tap in correctly/positive side plugged into fuse slot furthest from side with the wire, then why would choosing another acc slot be necessary and why would it be receiving power while the car is off ?
If i use a multimeter how can i find + and - sides. Can u please help me? I know to measure voltage but I don’t know how i put it on. Positive and negative terminal are important?
To Thinkware, please add a wiring diagram for your hardwire kit. I couldn't find it on your site or manual so I didn't know what the "ACC" wire was supposed to get wired to.
My red ACC wire does not have 2 slots for the old and new fuse. It has 1 preinstalled fuse. What can I do in this case. I have a Vantop V9H dash kit.....
I feel like I just sat thru a calculus class
I bought DDPAI X5 PRO dashcam. It has only hardwiring provision and came with 1ACC,1VCC,1GND. I don't want use parking mode. So can i connect ACC and GND to the fuse box (I'm not connecting VCC). Does this work?. Thanks in advance.
Hello, thank you for the video. If I do not need the parking surveillance what should I connect?
Hi There, you can still hardwire the Dash Cam, but disable Parking Mode in the Settings. This way, the Dash Cam will shut off when you turn the vehicle off. If you wish to use Parking Mode, you can enable it again in the settings.
Hi, can you help me please to l find right fuses inside the car? Toyota auris Touring sport Hybrid 2018. Thanks
Can I not use the constant wire and just use the accessory wire for my dash cam? Thanks.
So the fuse for the dash cam need to be equal or lower amp than the existing fuse right??
I I followed your lead and successfully hardwired the equipment. Everything works perfect. I also followed your lead and made sure Motion Detection is enabled. But a lot of other dash cams will give you an audio alert when you turn off the car and let you know parking mode is activated. But the AZDOME 550 does not give you such an audio alert and so I ask, how do you know that your parking mode is indeed working or properly enabled via the hardwire installation if your camera does not give an audio whenever parking mode is enabled?
Suplex it
My dashcam turns off when I start the car. I'm not using thinkware hardwiring kit but it's very similar. Btw my dashcam uses super capacitor. I am using the door lock constant fuse. The fuse box is internal and not the one in the engine bay. Does anyone know what's going on and how I can fix this problem?
Any recommendations on what voltage setting to put the cam on? I have the hardwire kit and a Cellink Neo battery. I have noticed that the camera stops recording, even when settings are in parking mode, sensitivity is set high and battery is still in the 90% + range
Hi Tommy, this could be due to a number of factors. Please contact our support team and they would be happy to help! Email: support@thinkware.com
I cant find an acc fuse on a chevy silverado 2016 i found a constant but can find an acc power fuse any idea which fuce?
What if a have a Cellink Battery B? Do I still use a constant fuse?
What acc fuse slot and constant fuse slot fuse should I tap?
Your video doesn't show how to run the wires from the engine PDC to inside the cabin so it can connect to the dashcam! We just supposed to figure that one out? What do we do remove the dashboard and fish it through??
Hello, I want to but a separate dash cam that is independent from the front cam. If I use a USB splitter and attach it to the hardwire kit will it provide enough power for both dash cams?
parking mode does consume power when the engine is off, hardwire kits, usually have a cut off circuit to prevent these cameras from draining to much juice from your cars battery. having 2 separate cameras would drain twice as much power, you definitely want to use the battery protector, you your car might not start the next morning.
Can u tie the red and yellow wire with fuse so u don't need fuse taps? Is it safe?
Hallo, kan ik de dashcam installeren op de sigaretten aansteker en parkeermodus kunnen hebben of dat is alleen mogelijk bij aansluiting op zekeringenkast
