    I wish you were my car's mechanic! You did everything flawless what was supposed to do without cutting any corners. Have a 2011 Mazda 3i and don't trust shops from experience. Was it's best when I got it and the same up until took it somewhere for a specific break petal issue I was aware of when bought. Sparing pages of detail got car back compromised in many ways and not fixed.

    If you have an issue with Mazda transmition: First try to program/update your transmition : Start the engine then after 30 seconds press on the breaks little hard. Then N then Switch off then M1 for 5 seconds and just press start, then N start the car then M2 for for 5 seconds then M1 ….wait till you see tachometer going up & wait till it goes down. It worked like magic no clicking sounds especially with reverse.

    That hard shift into drive and reverse might have something to do with the transmission control module. My 08 did the same thing. I found a used transmission control module on eBay and it fixed the problem. I bought that control module used because a new one at Mazda's was around 900 dollars, ouch.

    Another GREAT video! Thanks! Let me ask - do the Mazda transmission pans include a magnet? I saw the new pan you had, and didn't see a magnet. I think of this because one of the steps I have done in the past is clean the "fuzz" off the one that I typically saw in there on other car brands. The fuzz is obviously metallic particles....worn from the trans. Just wondering if these have them?

    • @CARDIAXPLAYS
      @CARDIAXPLAYS  Рік тому

      These do have them. you have to reuse the one from the old pan since the new one doesn't come with one. I didn't show it in the video but I did reuse the old one before installing it. Nothing gets past you Stephen. LOL

    I have tried twice now to respond to you, and both times my response shows up, but then when I refresh the screen - they are gone. So I will try just adding my response as a "new" comment, OK?
    So thanks for clearing up the magnet issue. I wasn't 100% sure Mazda used them, but never saw an auto trans pan without one. Thanks for this info.
    And also I saw that you used a single edge steel razor to clean the aluminum surface that the pan sits on. People have said using a blade like that is risky, in that it could cause cuts, dings, scratches (which they say will cause leaks). But you did it very carefully and skillfully, and I liked how it worked. So you have "inspired" me to give that method a try! Thanks!

    • @CARDIAXPLAYS
      @CARDIAXPLAYS  11 місяців тому +2

      on the Mazda site it says to turn the engine on and check the fluid when the engine is warm. Its really difficult the check the trans fluid while the engine is running on a skyactive Mazda. Just make sure the engine and trans are at operating temp when you check it. That's what I do and I've never had an issue.

    What is the recommended transmission fluid replacement interval?

    • @CARDIAXPLAYS
      @CARDIAXPLAYS  Рік тому +3

      On SkyActive engines Mazda really doesn't have any service interval for transmission fluid change. They say it should last the ownership of the vehicle. As a technician its hard for me to agree with that but I have to follow Mazda's rules. Changing the fluid around 60k miles is a good rule of thumb. Its not going to hurt anything. If I had a new Mazda I would replace it around 60k. Even my service manager thinks its crazy that the fluid is considered lifetime.

    so I got a 2010 Mazda3. When I put it in Drive it produces a hard "Knock." When I put it in Reverse it does the same. So, I removed the pan and replaced it with a new one. Since i was down there, I changed out the filter and the 6 solenoids. Hell, I even changed out the (I only found 2) Sensors: speed sensor and Input sensor (I think that's what they are called.). They are, practically, under the Battery "holder box." Well the problem persists. I replaced the transmission fluid with the same amount that I extracted. But the Dip stick doesn't give me a reading. Had I not put in the transmission fluid any other person would say there is no transmission fluid in the pan, but I know there is.
    Anybody got any suggestions? I'd really appreciate all the help. Thanks so much in advance.

      2010 huh? I believe those years of mazda 3 had Ford engines in them. On these older Mazdas I personally check to see if the TCM can be updated. sometimes just doing a software update on the TCM (transmission control module) can fix the hard shifting from Drive to park or from Drive to reverse. Im just saying from personal experience.

      I had to get the last place that replaced my tyre, to properly torque my wheels after I told them to do it and they said 'all good' without actually doing it. I'm glad I asked them, "what torque did you set it at?" before I left because I only found out they didn't do it when they gave me a blank look. After that I made sure I watched them do it.
