I changed the filter screen and more fluid fell out. I ask Mazda and they said to drive it and get it up to 125 f and check the dip stick running. I believe it should be in the middle not positive the person couldn’t tell me in the middle of which marks?

Hi Cardiax Palys, I saw that you are very knowledgeable about Mazdas. I have a 2021 CX-5 Diesel that overheats after 100km, completely filling the coolant expansion tank until it spills out. I disassembled and checked the EGR. Disassembled and checked the electronic thermostatic valve (when disassembled I found it open in the water passage, no error code). Disassembled and checked the intake manifold gasket that has incorporated a water passage. Completely replaced the coolant. Replaced the radiator cap. Put the cooling circuit under pressure, no leaks. Cleaned the engine oil. Mazda has no recalls and no history of this type of failure. Has anything like this ever happened to you?

The recall is not recognised in the UK. I tried at my main dealer whilst under warranty and I showed them the TSB recall notice. And showed me the door. A dry hollow to me suggests lack of lubrication (coolant) behind the 2 rubber seals. Surely a small hole drilled into each side of the rotating part would allow coolant to trickle into the seals and keep them lubricated?? If I had an old unit I would try it

Seriously way too many features and potential issues down the road. Good thing I bought the extended warranty.

If my car has a small fuel leak and code p0442 i know they are known for the top plastic craking and causing leaks would replacing the housing clear that code?

Made this change on my wife’s 2016. Her fuel light came on and her fuel needle is on “E” now after a few days after changing it. She had more than a half of a tank left. Can you explain this????? What’s the next steps????

I have a 2021 and before that I had a 2013 which I gave to my daughter. Two of the best cars ever made. I worked on the 2013 myself for years, changing transmission fluid, engine oil, filters, brake pads, all kinds of things. Nothing was very difficult to do. The 2021 is too new for any major repairs, but I did change the battery myself a few weeks ago. Nothing fancy there. Straight forward and easy.

Your neighbours must love you with that loud noise every time you lock/unlock it. Luckily my 2024 doesn’t do that.

Soo, I got a 2025 cx50. Did this with one of my fobs, worked, but now I got a light in my gauge saying fob off. No matter what I do I can not get that damb light to go back off after turning the fob back on ?? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I saw a video saying that you can use the key fob to remote start the Mazda cx90 but I couldn't get it to work in the brief time that I experimented with it.

Thank you for the posting. This should be a recall because it does create a safety issue. A driver trying to use the navagation when the ghost touch pops up can get distracted and can get into an accident. I'm a little peeved that Mazda knows that this display is defective, yet we...the customer...are the unpaid quality control engineers. Actually take that back...we...the customer....are out $279.00 to fix it ourselves.

There is a cheaper fix now. Here is the latest revision of the TSB for the Mazda Coolant Control Valve (CCV) issue. It describes a new repair kit and repair procedure. $30 repair vs $300 replacement (if not under warranty). static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2024/MC-11003350-0001.pdf

The video says the 2024 CX 5 does not have a CCV, but I have a 2024 and it DOES have a CCV.

Edit: READ THIS FIRST Here is the latest revision of the TSB regarding this issue. static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2024/MC-11003350-0001.pdf Elsewhere it is claimed that the failure mode is a small mechanical failsafe thermostat that is installed in the CCV. It fails open, and allows excess coolant flow thru the radiator. Recently Mazda has made available a $30 kit with parts to replace only the failsafe mechanical thermostat. Please make a video showing how to replace the mechanical thermostat inside the CCV.

(I work at Toyota) I found nothing that gave me peace of mind going into this. I am so elated that I came across your video 2 years into dealing with this issue. I tried getting a kit from a Mazda dealer an hour away..luckily, I was off put by the price of the kit because it would've been the wrong kit. Your list, not even two minutes into your video, showed the original part#, but I found a superseded part# on eBay. Repairs took just under 2 hours!! Please give yourself a pat on the back, sir!
