@@racool911 Yeah, but at the end of the day the bottom line and what shareholders are willing to shill out matter more to them. If they know they can keep making millions off of easily produced green screens, recycled renders and recycled jokes, they will keep pushing for that. Once they start losing money is when they'll make a shift in quality (hopefully). I would imagine once DC manages to get it together and produce quality films consistently and Marvel loses a foothold in the market is when they'll actually hire more than 20 people to do the VFX for them and try to write stories again.

This movie is too much of a comedy. What made Thor Ragnorok work so well was that it balanced humor with the serious bits so expertly. So, like a child, the MCU conflated the two: thE ThoR FraNchIse WaS StrOng BecAusE thE JokES wEre StrOng.
I mean, the numbers don’t lie: Thor Ragnorok did the best in ratings compared to Thor and Thor: The Dark World according to Letterboxd. And the difference they made there was making Thor a more humorous character. So for this movie, they decided to double-down on the humor, sacrificing tone and plot in the process.
And tbh, Thor was never meant to be that kind of character at all. Like everyone is saying, Infinity War Thor was the best because he had so much depth and character to him. Rather than comedy just being there, it was used as a crutch for Thor to help him cope with the loss of all his loved ones. Thor can’t be some purely goofy character only there for the laughs. He needs some sort of depth to his character.
The only thing I’ll be looking forward to in Phase 4 is Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and maybe their holiday special (maybe that will be the third movie idk). If James Gunn manages to f this up somehow, then Phase 4 is screwed as we know it.

Unpopular opinion: I think that Thor 4 is better than Thor Ragnarok. I can't think of a single truly serious and in-depth moment of Thor Ragnarok that wasn't undercut by an unfunny joke. The jokes they did use on many occasions were just not funny.
      Examples:
Banner faceplanting on the bifrost bridge
Hela: DiD yOU eVeN LisTeN tO a wORd I SaID??
Thor: Hulk, for once in your life DON'T SMASH
Jeff Goldblum basically just played Jeff Goldblum for the whole movie.
That's not to say that Thor 4 was even in-depth to begin with. Just a fun romp to make the MCU bigger and Kevin Feige/Marvel richer.
Apart from the screaming goats and Jane Foster's catchphrases I thought Thor 4s jokes were a million times better than Ragnarok. Even if Gorr had wasted potential he was a way better villain than Hela. He wasnt half as goofy as Hela was, barely even cracking a joke. They are at a point where the MCU should have ended.
It started with Iron Man and in Endgame (which holds END in its title), it should have ended with Iron Man.
    The Story is complete.
The Characters have gone through their hardships and are (mostly) completed.
Now we are in the "keep it alive" era, where they want to make as much money from the name of Marvel as possible, before dropping it.
People are happy with the end of the third act. We are done.
We need something fresh and new.
But what we get is the same things over and over again, cause there is basically nothing left to do.
Even Spiderman 3 was only good cause it finished the saga of the other 2 Spidermans and their legacy.
Now its only stockpiling new heroes to make a new epic conglomerate of the same things that were started with Iron Man, but the problem of it being in a world that is already completely established.
You cannot write new "secret powerful groups" cause of the question "where were they when Thanos appeared?". What did they all go through with the other supervillains? Whats the Avengers gonna do?
All that stuff is too overwhelming going forward.
They should make a new "MCU" and start it fresh.

Please tell me who asked for the eternals and shang-chi??? I don’t even think anyone knows who the eternals. They’re making it so that u need to watch literally everything even the things on Disney plus to find out absolutely everything. That’s not the point of movies at all. Movies is a story, start to finish or a build up into more movies. Something that everything before endgame did so well was the massive build up with thanos and the infinity stones. Now they’re creating villains and not even giving them enough screen time or explaining them enough for us to care. I was absolutely gobsmacked when i saw that both the new avengers movies will be dropping close to eachother in the same year. It’s just all messed up and I’m sure they are slowly losing fans and losing everything they had. DC is outperforming MARVEL and they are having less movies produced. I just wish marvel would slow down? This past year feels like they’ve been rushing to close the arcs on some characters but now they’re rushing to introduce all these new ones. And it just feels like so much content for the casual fan.

And that is also a lot of work for VFX artists too.

Thank you for this! Know what would have been interesting -- Gorr getting an actual journey between his daughter dying, meeting his god, and finding the sword, having to work and search for it. Within that journey, it flips to Thor on his self-discovery journey, and they have a segment where Gorr and Thor are meditating at the same time in different places/worlds, for drastically different reasons with different cosmologies. Then playing with the contrast to unpack their cosmologies and make us question and analyze our own beliefs by showing the complexities of each character... which is easier to do when there's a journey to build off of and not "oh, that sword just happened to be there and chose you!" Other characters like Valkyrie, Corg, and Jane have their own moments of struggle and belief searching, even going different directions in their belief yet coming to the same team consensus to accomplish their goal. Buuut nope, we got rushed and reckless for jokes.
