I was disappointed when I saw the Abomination/Hulk battle but the story line was excellent.
I think the main problem is undersaleing his power for story purposes. So many times when ever they needed a character to have a feat they use the debasement of the hulk as that feat. Him getting trashed and helpless against thanos and never getting his angry vengeance is the perfect example. For some reason thors power level keeps going up and hulk got no moments where he is simply the unparrelled in his strength and rage for the team. There are so many narrative tools they could have used to keep him around his overpowered strength level while still telling a compelling story but they didn't know what to do with him. They fundamentally didn't understand writing his rage power up into the narrative, as proof of this he got his professor hulk form when they needed his strength the most. Even in the comics that is his weakest form because he doesn't have access to it.
Fun fact about Avengers Endgame: After Black widows death, Smart Hulk does not make a single quip. Another fun fact: Banner was the only avenger to defeat a black order member without any outside help.
Professor Hulk is the weakest of the Hulks. It makes sense that they had more Banner and less Hulk at that point. With that said, the Hulk Vs Thanos fight should have been a much longer fight, for the audiences sake.
I agree with everything you said. They have disrespected the Hulk. I don't think.Stan Lee would have liked the idea of taking down the Hulk in a few seconds and downgrading the Hulk. The Hulk should get a rematch with Thanos. The writers could have done much better than make the Hulk gonoutbof character. The fightbwas stupid and cheaply done.
I mean him losing to thanos makes sense from a story telling standpoint as it shows how much of a threat thanos is. But yh it probably should have gone on abit longer and hulk should definitely not got scared of thanos we all know hulk believes himself to be the strongest there is so he would never back down from anyone
I hate what they did to Hulk and Thor, Ed Norton's Hulk was great, and I can't stand what they did to Loki. Loki is a bad guy, the God of Mischief, NOT a sympathetic antihero. And I can't stand Mark Ruffalo, he cucked the Hulk long before Marvel Studios did.
They ruined Thor when they had him teaming up with a bloody talking racoon for god's sake. Lee and Kirby would be horrified at what's happened to their mighty God of Thunder.
Personally i think the Eric Bana Hulk should count as the beginning of Hulks tale. And he was far more bada** in that movie... from the guy who made Brokeback Mountain. Seriously, is no one ever going to give Ang Lees Hulk any credit?? We got the best General Ross imaginable in that movie
What should of happened in infinity war is that Hulk should of smashed all of Thanos' armor off before Thanos uses the power stone to knock him out. Thanos just takes off the armor in the next scene anyway and it would show how powerful the stones are.
04:24 This is the whole problem with all the Marvel Movies, they make too many jokes, even the cartoon for the kids was more seriously then the movies for adults.
Blame the 'woke' crowd. By Endgame, they already felt the need to make the most powerful heroes females, and by 'She-Hulk' we all knew she would be the boss babe who was far superior to him in every way.
Agree with everything you said. TBH the MCU was dead to me from Infinity War. First of all making Hulk go AWOL, and then in Endgame neutering Thor from what he became in Ragnarok. Oh yeah, they snipped Vision too in Infinity War. A pattern there...... I'd rather they had Thanos kill Hulk in Infinity War - make it a bit more brutal, Hulk maybe makes him bleed and then Thanos destroys him - would have been better than them ruining everything about Hulk after Infinity.
I could pay good money to have World War Hulk done WELL. Marvel gets a chance to introduce a BUNCH of new characters, and we get to witness the Hulk that could break the world if he wanted. Yes, plz!
the signs were there from the very start of avengers coming together, lots of very dark scenes being cut despite making the threat more real. they do the same to the characters, cant kill good guys, skirt around violence, skirt around language, themes of rage like the character is supposed to, alcoholism for iron man, its all watered down for "modern audiences" modern just meaning broadening demographics to include PG rating rather than 13 or adult, never mind how arbitrary the guidelines for each rating are anyways, we were never going to get marvel at its peak.
The russo brothers even said they didn't know how to write for the hulk and its ridiculous because hulk has so much potential it was a missed opportunity in endgames finale but instead they gave him a messed up arm and comic relief It was also a slap in the face when he showed up in the infinity war trailer but disappeared completely in the beginning
Yeah, it makes no sense that they wouldn't at least try to come up with a plan for the Hulk. He's one of the original Avengers, and he's an essential part of the team. They did a great job with those Avengers movies, but the Hulk was a missed opportunity.
Its better to be honest than lie look what they did to characters they knew to write...chefs kiss.sees to me they know how to write street Level characters
I haven't heard any theories that Marvel Studios is going to kill off Skaar when they're clearly setting up the Young Avengers, but there is a way to use Skaar to further Hulk's character. Ritson's final act in Secret Invasion is to "declare all off world species enemy combatants" as Ritson wants the government to "find and kill every last one of them." Since Ross will replace Ritson as President in the MCU in Brave New World, Ross will still work with Ritson's act especially when he finds out that Skaar was born off world. If Hulk sees the man who ruined his life attempt to kill his son, he'll finally return to the savage Hulk or unleash the World Breaker.
honestly the did the julk as dirty as quick silver. the hulk is too strong and the writers just dont know how to add him to a story without making him the goto for everything. i mean he can overpower thor if he get angy enough and his anger and strength dont have a limit. i just wish they used and mutable personity angle instead of making him a green care bear
Idk if you knew this but. In comics we seen Bruce's own persona in Hulk form while battling Thor. Bruce was cocky and hungered to fight more. However he was still... ANGRY! The typical Hulk thing we all know and love.
Remember when Hulk was menacing, scary, angry, and not used for comedic effect but rather dramatic ,emotional, and intelligent dialog (minus the loki scene) YYEEAAHH Fwilig
I prefer even the Ang Lee Hulk over the Marvel Hulk. I guess to fit the storyline for the arrival of Captain Marvel they had to find some way to sideline the most powerful characters, emasculate Hulk and make Thor an overweight fatass.
I'm glad I am not the only one who noticed a slow, yet steady decline in the Hulk's powers and abilities as the MCU wore on. I think that Avenger's Hulk is the strongest (even stronger than what we saw in "The Incredible Hulk"). The Hulk from the first Avengers, once he put on the infinity gauntlet, would have been able to rip Thanos in half. Instead, we have a Hulk who barely survives the reverse Thanos snap. I don't know what Disney/Marvel's plans are for the Hulk, but I do understand the need to resolve some issues in his character such as finding a way for Bruce to be The Hulk, yet still retain some level of control. Stories require character arcs, which means character growth. You can't keep having The Hulk as a rampaging uncontrollable menace, over and over, because then the story would stagnate. In some of the comics, they did introduce a "Grey Hulk" which was a less angry, more intelligent, though less powerful version of green hulk. It was never really clear what would trigger this transformation, and I think the writers mostly used it as an Ex Machina to avoid the same old rampaging just-as-dangerous-as-the-enemy story line. It was never really made clear, but I assumed the Nerd-Hulk version we saw in End Game was a re-imagining of Grey Hulk. The movies never really explain it, but I assume that the merging of the two personas meant that both sides lose something. Hulk loses some of his incredible strength, and durability, and Banner loses a bit of intelligence and also undergoes some resultant personality changes. The comparison to Superman is interesting. I never really cared much for Superman, because he had no real weaknesses other than an eccentric millionaire (or now billionaire accounting for inflation), and a tiny green rock. He was boring. Hulk on the other hand, was also all powerful, but had to contend with his rage that made him a threat to his friends and loved ones as much as to his enemies. That was interesting. It's a shame to see Hulk reduced to just "Strong-Man", but I feel as though this was all so Disney could phase him out, without having to kill him off. Great video, by the way.
I heard that Lou Ferrigno hates what the MCU has done to Hulk.
Wouldn't surprise me
Probably why im he didnt return to voice him after avengers 1
I mean I think everyone but marvel hates what they did to the hulk.

Having Hulk lose to Thanos was a terrible idea WTF was marvel thinking
They made a giant green simp.
Still hoping for an Eric Bana Hulk vs Wolverine in the upcoming movie 😤
That hulk would tear him apart
IDGAF what anyone says or thinks, I still stand by the fact that I’ll GLADLY take Hulk (2003) over the MCU Hulk ANY DAY!!
Same
The professor Hulk arc was an actually awesome read in the comics!
I'm a huge Hulk fan and, like a lot of my other favorite male characters, to say he hasn't been done justice is hyperbolic.
Aang Lee's Hulk has it's criticisms but I got into Marvel movies as well a Sam Rami Spider-Man back in the day.
Disney recreated the Hulk into the woke Hulk.
The intro 😂🔥🔥😂
Hulk beats Iron Man in the comics EVERY TIME.
They already have a terrifying Hulk for MCU next called She Hulk.
Lol true
They ruined Thor when they had him teaming up with a bloody talking racoon for god's sake. Lee and Kirby would be horrified at what's happened to their mighty God of Thunder.
Hulk now is no more than a circus strong man.
I remember that was the first comic book movie I saw in the theater and that hulk terrified me 😂
@@Mr_Cinematic Yeah and Sam Elliots General Ross could terrify people
What should of happened in infinity war is that Hulk should of smashed all of Thanos' armor off before Thanos uses the power stone to knock him out. Thanos just takes off the armor in the next scene anyway and it would show how powerful the stones are.
Professor Hulk should still have Hulk's physical attributes. Thats my only gripe.
04:24 This is the whole problem with all the Marvel Movies, they make too many jokes, even the cartoon for the kids was more seriously then the movies for adults.
0:27
Changed their Leadership? King, Bob Iger is still in Charge.
It was Bob Chapek for a little while before they brought back iger
Fuck it im still rooting for Eric Bana's hulk
BASED
Blame the 'woke' crowd. By Endgame, they already felt the need to make the most powerful heroes females, and by 'She-Hulk' we all knew she would be the boss babe who was far superior to him in every way.
They also show the Hulk getting bigger as he gets angry in that Edward Norton Hulk movie. Another thing the recent versions of the Hulk left out.
He's a grower, not a shower
They turn hulk to shrek
Bob Iger isn’t much of a change in leadership when he was in charge before and created many of the problems we have now.
Imo feige nerfed hulk so universal to avoid a sony/spiderman situation and regain the rights to the hulk easily
Agree with everything you said. TBH the MCU was dead to me from Infinity War. First of all making Hulk go AWOL, and then in Endgame neutering Thor from what he became in Ragnarok. Oh yeah, they snipped Vision too in Infinity War. A pattern there......
I'd rather they had Thanos kill Hulk in Infinity War - make it a bit more brutal, Hulk maybe makes him bleed and then Thanos destroys him - would have been better than them ruining everything about Hulk after Infinity.
they did that to the winter soldier as well too completely nerfed
Disney ruined Marvel just like Star Wars
2003 hulk
Yes
The russo brothers even said they didn't know how to write for the hulk and its ridiculous because hulk has so much potential it was a missed opportunity in endgames finale but instead they gave him a messed up arm and comic relief
It was also a slap in the face when he showed up in the infinity war trailer but disappeared completely in the beginning
Yeah, it makes no sense that they wouldn't at least try to come up with a plan for the Hulk. He's one of the original Avengers, and he's an essential part of the team. They did a great job with those Avengers movies, but the Hulk was a missed opportunity.
Nah, it was a Marvel/Disney decision, Not a Russos decision. If Marvel/Disney weren’t the ones that made that call, they would’ve fixed it by now.
Its better to be honest than lie look what they did to characters they knew to write...chefs kiss.sees to me they know how to write street Level characters
IMO Mark Ruffalo is a good actor but he is no Hulk or bruce banner.
Agreed
Hulk is basically Shrek at this point
Yep
Glad you think so too
I haven't heard any theories that Marvel Studios is going to kill off Skaar when they're clearly setting up the Young Avengers, but there is a way to use Skaar to further Hulk's character.
That still sounds better than what we have currently
As soon as Hulk got mind controlled I was worried, Thor Ragnarok was entertaining, but after Infinity War I checked out 😭
they even give ant man hulk's biggest feat - one punch big leviatan in avengers 2012
honestly the did the julk as dirty as quick silver. the hulk is too strong and the writers just dont know how to add him to a story without making him the goto for everything. i mean he can overpower thor if he get angy enough and his anger and strength dont have a limit. i just wish they used and mutable personity angle instead of making him a green care bear
It’s a damn shame we haven’t seen real, REAL!, Hulk action since the Thanos fight in Infinity wars
That's nothing. Did you see what they did to Mar-Vell, the OG Captain Marvel in the Captain Marvel movie?
As far as this fan is concerned, the Hulk no longer exists in the MCU.
Idk if you knew this but. In comics we seen Bruce's own persona in Hulk form while battling Thor. Bruce was cocky and hungered to fight more. However he was still... ANGRY! The typical Hulk thing we all know and love.
I 100% agree with you!
Did a terrible job in avengers he moved like a gorilla. He was depowered with that age of ultron hulk busta junk
one of the reasons why i left the mcu. gunn's dcu has alot of promise.
I hope so!
it got ruined from Ragnorok. same with thor. that movie was AWFUL
After he mentioned Hulk's third leg and cuts to 3:29 with Bruce sitting that way, I thought it was something else. 🤣😂
Having Hulk lose to Thanos was a terrible idea WTF was marvel thinking wtf i was pissed
I will never forgive MCU for ruining Hulk which was one of my most favourite superhero
Remember when Hulk was menacing, scary, angry, and not used for comedic effect
but rather dramatic ,emotional, and intelligent dialog
(minus the loki scene) YYEEAAHH
Fwilig
thank you for this video, couldn’t have said it better myself 🙌
Glad you enjoyed it!
AMEN BRUH, AMEN!!
I prefer even the Ang Lee Hulk over the Marvel Hulk.
I guess to fit the storyline for the arrival of Captain Marvel they had to find some way to sideline the most powerful characters, emasculate Hulk and make Thor an overweight fatass.
they turn the hulk into to Simon from Alvin and the chipmunks i hate marvel for that
I can't unsee it now 😂
@Mr_Cinematic I have a question for you do you ever think that marvel will take a break with Multi verse movie
