I have a 2017 with the 2.7 ecoboost and it's been doing to 2 years now. It did it at 21,000 miles at 28,000 at 32,000 38,000 and now at 53,000 miles and the dealership has kept it everytime and it doesn't do it with them 🤦🤦. It's has a be a damn recall by now. It's happening to several people and it's really dangerous. We all need to come together and demand for to recall this issue. Hopefully they can figure out what's wrong this time when I take it in tomorrow. 10/3/2020. I'll do an update. Stay safe guys..
Update. I got a called from the Ford dealership today 10/2/2020. They said that they went back and forth with ford engineers up in their dearborn facility and that they suggested to replace the gateway module. Do truck did it while it was under ford's warranty but they never decided to do anything about. Now the truck is out of ford's warranty but my other warranty will cover the part. I decided not to go with it because my deductible is $200 dollars and the part is only $25 online?🤦🤦 So it doesn't make sense to get robbed specially because they're not even sure if that's what's causing the problem. I'm going to contact their corporate and make them pay for that shit. And I also contacted the dealership where I got it from. Someone had to pay and get it fix and I know I'm not. Fuck them.
Update: It did end up happening again ironically right in front of a ford dealer about a month after this video. But the guys were a bunch of jerks and said I would have to call a tow truck because they were not allowed to help me push it into their parking lot, so I had a friend come by after sitting out front of the dealer for an hour and a half and he towed me into the parking lot. Long story short, they ended up putting a new throttlebody on the truck, saying they thought that it was a bad throttlebody sensor killing the truck. Well a year and a half later, I just traded the truck in with a little over 40,000 miles and it never did happen again after the new throttlebody was installed. However just in case this is relevant to any body having this issue, I have heard of this happening to people who were using a fuse tap in the interior fuse box to run a radar detector or a dash cam, which is how I was running my dash cam at the time. So I did re-wire it after they put a new throttlebody on the truck just to make sure that the low-amperage that the camera was pulling was not throwing off the computer.
ANSWER!!!!! Check your fuses everyone!!!!! Especially the power distribution fuse. That was Our issue in the passenger rocker fuse panel , This happened to a friend of mine within a day after he had a oil change at the dealership , they had pulled the fuse out just enough to make contact but with a good bump it would lose contact and shut the truck down. The dealership wanted 400 bucks to diagnose it which he thought was strange since he has only put 10 miles on it since the oil change and had never had an issue before , he was sure they forgot to tighten something or bumped a connection loose, anyway we spend a good 10 mins looking over connections before we caught the issue with the fuse being wiggled to the barely making contact position they had also removed the bolt that holds the fuse box secure to the body so it could bounce around more - My friend was the only owner of this truck and never wrecked or abused it and never had a reason to ever check the fuses this dealership tried to hustle my friend and by the looks of this video and comments its not an isolated issue, you have to wonder if it is a insider secret way dealerships or techs use to create large invoice repairs to raise commisions and or profit for the dealership Hope this helps
Same Ford f-150 issue here! It does while driving. Dangerous safety concern.. Ford Dealer Service- "It didn't happen while testing." They had my truck for over 2 months. So, I just got it back, and now it dies while driving, and my gas indicator is at half a tank...I hate my Ford Truck! It's fully paid for piece of garbage! Thanks for sharing! Ford Dealer made me feel like I was Crazy....
I end up having the same problem in my 2016 f150 platinum but with a 5.0 v8 engine, it dies while i’m driving on the highway and it doesn’t start again and I towed the car to the dealership and they said the whole BCM Need to be replaced, and it will take at least 3 weeks to get the car done. When i get the car and have the chance to drive it for a while I’m going to give you the updates BCM: body control module Part number: (FL3Z-15604-J)
2015 Ford eco boost aswell, was on my way up to Big Bear when the truck randomly stopped responding while in the middle of the freeway, super dangerous
Has been happening to me with my 2016 F-150XLT. I was going 70MPH down the highway then nothing. Flashing all sorts of warnings at me, and I press the gas pedal and I get nothing. It sucks! I also made no modifications or added anything to my truck since the day I purchased it. I say this because I have noticed other people have mentioned that Ford technicians have blamed after market installs.
2014 f-150 3.5l eco boost with 58,000 miles on it. Mine died coming up the ramp & had to coast to side of road, trucker had to slam on his brakes, almost rear ended me.
Hello. I'm been having the same problem for 2 years now. I love my truck and I don't want to give up on it. I'm taking it in tomorrow 10/3/2020. Everyone having the same problem say it's the throttle body. Hopefully they can figure it out.
Just happened a few minutes ago in my 2016 F-250 29K miles. Would not start for a few minutes. 6.2L Gas non-ecoboost. Doesn't the computer log this event?
This is happening on my truck right now. Dealer can’t figure out what’s wrong with it. I have new front fuel pump and throttle body great. They also reset the computer and They simply can’t find out what wrong. Hopefully they’ll get straighten out
Has this happened again since fixing? I bought my 2012 f150 3.5 ecoboost with 50k. It now has 115k and has been doing this for the past 20k Miles. Random stalls, and every warning light pops up. And won’t start randomly. I know it is ok to start again when the blower for my air or heat kicks on. Weirdest thing. Ford dealer has no clue what’s going on and told me it was my pcm relay. Told me it was my ignition switch next. And it worked for about a month then went bad. Now they are telling me it’s my steering column which will be 1000 bucks.
MCGLOCKLIN tv I hate to hear about that man! I just traded this truck in with a little over 40,000 miles and it never did happen again. I have a 2011 ford f-150 with only 42k miles and it's doing the same thing. It has transmission issues...the back camera went out at 20k... with other problems. I think ford knows but as usual will not do anything since it's out of warranty. I will never buy a ford again!

There's a lot of these videos with f150 ecoboost owners having their engine randomly shut down while driving
My 2016 3.5 Ecoboost did this exact same thing while towing my boat yesterday. 41,000 miles I guess I should of took the extended warranty!

I HAVE A 2107 2 TIMES ALREADY. NEXT MOVE IS LEMON LAW. I HAVE TILL OCTOBER 2021 SO NEXT TIME IT'S LAWYER TIME.
It’s the throttle body, I have a eco boost and mine used todo the same thing.
2015 Ford eco boost aswell, was on my way up to Big Bear when the truck randomly stopped responding while in the middle of the freeway, super dangerous

Hi ! and how did you solve the problem
@@alexmolina3756 I ended up taking it to Ford and they said it was the throttle box. The truck was still under warranty and they fixed it right away.
@@chriscoulstring8562 thanks for the info !!!!
I did a lot of research before buying a new truck. Ford owners are having a lot of problems with the EcoBoost.
Contact Ford corporate about it then if that doesn’t work contact NHTSA I’m sure they would love to hear about that!
2014 f-150 3.5l eco boost with 58,000 miles on it. Mine died coming up the ramp & had to coast to side of road, trucker had to slam on his brakes, almost rear ended me.
This happened to me twice yesterday. Mine seems to reset after I turn the truck off and restart it.

I got a 2013 f150 3.5 and we changed the battery and we were good it might be one of your fuses

a bit ridiculous this is caused by the throttle body... need to be looking for a hot wire override if that is the case. its only airflow to the engine
This just happened in my truck looking for what to do it won’t turn back on
When it happen did it rain really bad the night before
I just had my 2016 ford f150 platinum v8 with 29,374miles do the same thing.
My 2.7 ecoboost stalls after heavy towing. Ford claims nobody’s experiencing the same problem!
We're having the same issues in our company trucks. Ford told us the same thing. Its gonna get someone hurt or killed.
Unbelievable. They try their best to get out of repairing anything.
My 2016 2.7 Ecoboost with 45K miles just did it after a day of moderate towing. WTF Ford,!?
The transmission temperature was not working?
I have a 2011 ford f-150 with only 42k miles and it's doing the same thing. It has transmission issues...the back camera went out at 20k... with other problems. I think ford knows but as usual will not do anything since it's out of warranty. I will never buy a ford again!
Go with a Silverado or Ram.
Well I sold my 2015 ecoshit and buy a 3.7 na and wow im happy with my truck
Did you find out what the problem is? It happened to my 2015 F150 too, exactly same problem. Its at the dealer now, still waiting.
