    Thankyou Mike for all your reviews, comparisons and opinions. I've recently had to install a replacement set of factory speakers in my car (blew the origional ones up) keeping the origional factory installed radio. Before this I knew absolutly nothing about the subject Your content heped my choose a set that I'm really happy with safe in the knowledge that I have the right ones for my situation, best bang for the buck as it were. My only gripe, if you can even call it that, is there didn't seem to be much in the way of comparisons for componant speakers. So eventually I settled on Rockford Fosgate R165-S in the front and R142 in the rear as there was already a componant set in the car and I couldn't be happier now there up and running. I'm aware there are better systems out there if you pay the money and do the install but I'm a grandad of nearly 60 years old and they would be wasted on me. Just thought I'd take the time to say thanks, thats all. You've helped me more than you'll ever know.

    Really nice reviews, the only thing is; when you play Only electronic music, it's hard to evaluate how realistic sound these speakers might have, since all the sounds are not related to any acoustic instrument most people can be familiar, maybe include, jazz, classical, rock as well

      @@strelizia1534 I’ve seen videos of the same thing with popular music & they’re older than this video. Electro/house isn’t the only genre with unknown artists btw. There are plenty of rock bands, rappers, artists of other genres that he won’t get any flak from UA-cam for. Renzo isn’t lying. Cause the bass from this kind of music doesn’t come from 808s. So it’s not a true bass test.

    Thanks a lot for your review! It's probably just a matter of taste, but for my ear the RF 165x3 sounds just right. The P1650 has a kind of concert hall echo, which I definitely do not want in my car.

    • @BramtheMan1
      @BramtheMan1 4 роки тому +5

      Totally agree, more definition in sounds and louder on the R165x3
      P1650 sound like echos and less volume and less clear
      Different songs would help also , variation in instruments and bass
      To my ears of course .....

    In reality, the left side is "warm" sounding and the right side is "bright" sounding. It comes down to personal preference. Video creator clearly prefers super bright highs, in which case he would LOVE the old-school infinity speakers as the high end was SUPER bright, to a point that for people like me, gave me headaches. I prefer a more natural neutral sound, so I will either equalize my system using said equalizer OR I would buy speakers that are as close to neutral as possible (usually polk audio go for a neutral sound as possible).

    Both seems to be OK to replace factory speakers using factory head unit, no amp. I may need to test them in my car. But for some reason, the Prime at the left sounds more easy to listen, no overbearing high bright sounds like in the Punch at the right. The sound from the Prime is more homogeneous, while the sound from the speaker at the right is too set toward the twitter output, even though the specs shows a starting range from 45Hz, while the Prime starts at 52Hz.
    I noticed the sound from the Punch some times was better, with some music, but overall, the Prime had better sound to me, and I think they are the best option to replace stock speakers, using factory head unit without incurring in aftermarket amp installation, specially because the Prime has 91dB of sensitivity over the 88db from the Punch.
    I may need to listen to them in person.

    Th RF 3-way (one on left) had a more full sound even though it's cheaper. The RF P1650 has more bias going towards the tweeter (since it's a 2-way only) so of course there will be more emphasized highs than on the 3-way since the 3-way is dividing up the same amount of power for 3 drivers that the 2-way is only splitting by two. That being said, for the average listener that is only planning on installing two or possibly four of these speakers in their car as the only speakers, l would say that the RF 3-ways would be a better choice being that they produce a much warmer, full spectrum sound and a balanced (rather than exaggerated) high end. The RF 1650's being 2-ways have much louder tweeters, which lF you have some separate dedicated mid-range speakers installed as well, the 1650's could be a good choice being that they could balance out some separate mid-range speakers well, however if a person is not planning to run separate mid-range speakers with the 1650's, that heavily emphasized tweeter can lead to some ear fatigue and become just to overbearing for extended listening in addition to the fact that there is a missing frequency range to the 1650's in the mid spectrum precisely because they are trying to run both the base and the mids through the main driver which leads to this deficiency.

    In my opinion the one on the lefts tweeter hits higher notes but there Piercingly sharp, harsh to the ear but audible. The one on the right doesn’t register that snappy sound it’s softened by silk tweeter and sounds richer softer hits the note smoother I prefer the Right Side . I like watching your videos by skipping to the sound test and closing my eyes to be unbiased so far outta everything I’m most impressed by the JBL line and I’m a Rockford old school fan of them all hi fonics cv ppi us Memphis mtx. But as of Late JBL kicks all ass. Tell me I’m lying 🤥

    Does anyone know what the main difference is between the 3 way R165X3 in this video and the punch series 3 way P1675?
    I currently have the P1650 and the highs seem like they are too harsh and "tin-like" and they overpower every other part of anything I play. God forbid I listen to anything with cymbals, it practically screeches and you can't hear any other part of the band... The bass/mids are maxed through the stock head unit, with my treble set far below them, and the listening fatigue is still almost immediate 😞. Looking at the 2 speakers I mentioned above and of anyone has any personal experience with them or knows why I should choose one over the other I would really appreciate it!
