I'd def take Rockford over Boss. I have the Prime R165x3 speakers/ Prime R250X4 amp in one of my cars and the Power T1650 / Punch P600X4 amp in another. The Power speakers get really loud. The Prime speakers were surprisingly loud for being the entry-level. Also have two 12" Punch P3 subs. I had Boss subs and Boss head units and just were not satisfied with 'em.
Nooo it doesn't. This video is all electronic music. It's very hard to judge music truly with just one type. The boss sounds very unnatural with vocals in person. Trust me. Boss is very overpriced, even at it's low price.
Ok some ppl here crapping on Boss and I'll b the first one to tell u that they're not high end or top of the line by any means. That being said they cost half as much or less than half as much as the speakers you're recommending. Most reviewers will out right tell you they aren't the best and if you're looking for comp equipment then yes, skip the Boss and go for the high end stuff. But if you're just looking to upgrade factory stuff or add a little extra bump or make the shitty sound system your car came with sound better then Boss will definitely do that with money left over for those of us who would rather spend it elsewhere, like adding a several thousand dollar super charger XD
Just ordered my boss speakers. Hoping it helps because my sound has been terrible since I bought this car 2009 year old car with factory speakers. There's like popping and sometimes rattle. Like I said hopefully this takes care of that, or at the very least make it sound much better
@@yasoutherncousin they sounded good 👍 way better than the factory speakers that's for sure. It was easy for me to install since I already work on cars. Only trouble I had was finding the right mounting adapter. Had to modify the factory one
4 years and somebody comes along that does. You can get good sound without a sub. Whatever speaker you go with, do a solid install on it and your sound quality will be better. That means using foam seals between the speaker and mount surface. This is as simple as just using weatherstripping, caulk (but that’s messy), or using the foam sheets from craft stores and making gaskets from them. You also will want a puffy spongy foam seal between the speaker and the door panel or grill. This prevents sound from being lost between the door panel and the metal door itself. Those lost soundwaves end up creating vibrations and taking away from overall sound. The foam absorbs that. You can use weather stripping here as well, or buy something specifically made for this application. You may also want to think about using sound deadening material on the doors. If you don’t do the whole thing, at least do the area around the speaker. Next, make sure positive and negative wires are correct for ALL speakers in the vehicle. Having one wired backwards has the effect of canceling out bass. Look for speakers with specs that have higher sensitivity ratings if you don’t have an amp. 90dB and above performs better on deck power. Most of these ratings are done with the 1 watt @ 1 meter standard, but sometimes it is done with 2.83 volts instead. To compare a speaker, one to another, the ratings need to be tested the same way. 2.83v into 4 ohms produces 2 watts, not one, and falsely bumps up sensitivity by 3dB. So a speaker at 90dB @ 2.83v is really 87dB, and therefore won’t be as loud and responsive on lower power. Frequency response range matters also. Speakers with a low end frequency response in the 30s and 40s are bassier than those up in the 60s and 70s. High end frequency response matters too, but most speakers play highs well above the level of human hearing (20kHz). Look at RMS, continuous, or nominal wattage ratings (all the same thing) and select one on the lower end for deck powered speakers. No need for speakers to be able to handle 150 watts rms if you’re just feeding them 10-15 watts. All of this just ensures they will better respond to the power they receive. Also materials they are made from, poly cones provide better bass, rubber, elastic, or foam surrounds also on the woofers. DO NOT buy speakers with cloth surrounds and expect good bass. For your highs, this depends on your tastes as well as car interior having lots of soft or hard surfaces. Silk tweeters are the smoothest and most natural sounding, and better for cars with hard interior surfaces. Soft surfaces absorb sound. For those you’d be better off with mylar, PET, PEI, or other plastic type tweeters. Metal tweeters tend to be harsh but some people like them.
Ha I was just about to buy that Boss speaker after reading all the positive reviews... lucky I stumbled on this video. Question now is... who the hell writes all those positive reviews on the Boss speakers??
I have the boss in my cart right now.... Almost bought them but found this video.... I just need to find some ok speakers for a good price.... Which boss is I guess....
I want to change my RV speakers my kids listen to the new music now a days some have bass some don't which would you recommend me buying I need about six or eight so hopefully I'm not interested in spending more than $150 Do you think you could help me
The only thing is there not all equal. I would like to see 2 way to 2way 6.5 mid to mid. Also there are different levels. For instance Rockford fosgate makes prime, punch, power series then different levels to those. usly 3 levels. Then you have 2 way 3 way 4 way.
Rockford of coarse!! But the boss with a amp pushing them and eq don't sound bad on a system in the whip.yeah boss is some cheap ass shit like Jensen, but if that's all you can afford there not bad but rockford is better I run infinity kappa components front and back passive clarion eq 4 channel jl 400watt then a rockford T1000 on 2 Tseries rockford fosgate 10s sounds good.
I hate those rockford so much one of the worst sounding speakers I ever had definitely better than boss tho I love rockford but the only thing they can't get right are those punch coaxials they are ass
It's hard to gauge with the horrendously God awful music you're playing... sounds like someone's going through the silverware drawer! Play some ROCK N ROLL!

Boss sounds good ,Im impressed!!!

Hoping for this channel to take off man!
Rock speaker clear detail but seems the boss handles the bass better but lacks clear crisp detail .
No bass on boss RF bass way better you cant here becos microphone adjusting sound
Hey chap, this is like comparing apples with pears. Maybe these BOSS speakers are rather a direct comparison for the RF 165x3
I have this same model boss and it sounds amazing on my boss PF2600 almost as good as those expensive ones.
Haters always gonna hate on boss
Wow man great video. Thank u
I'm just wondering if you can do a MTX speakers vs kicker speakers
Music with a “live Bass” would help your comparison.
Rockford is a "clear" winner!
Can we know what size amp you're using?
Boss = Sounds fine

How are those boss sounding?

Who would've thought that a 50 dollar difference would make a speaker sound better.
Mike where can I get the songs/bests in this video .?.?
Wanna test out sum speakers myself before I install in my vehicle
Thank you 🙏
Put the RMS wattage on the description
Hi mate, cool videos 👍
So out of all the 6.5 speakers comparisons which one clearly stands out for the best low & deep thumping bass ? 👍
If you have sub get some infinity kappa or jbl GTO alpine type R also gives you nice bass
@@LIFEINSPEED which one is best for without a sub?
@@davidwashington9113 no speaker is gonna hit low bass like a sub
