- We all know stock speakers aren't the best but are all aftermarket speakers better than stock? We'll see if these "budget-friendly" speakers do the job.
I included how to install these speakers, so if you've been searching on how to take off the doors, splice wires, and re-use the speaker housings, here is your one-stop shop! :)
The comparison between stock vs Rockford Fosgate starts at 20:39.
Thanks for watching! Many Blessings.

This was a year ago,I think what he was describing on the door cups he is actually doing just foam witch is good,I do comed him for his first time ,they do sell a cup that does what he's talking about but it looks like a bowl ,I do give him a 9 for all the great advancing to his build and having the confidence to do so,he probably saved 500 on installing it him self. Great work friend
Much appreciated brother
Nice work. You have now joined the Rockford community. We here, you will be held to the highest of standards. CONGRADULATIONS ! WELCOME TO OUR SOCIETY. 🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊
Don't remember how I ran into them.. but was a comment I believe I remember. So was talking about skars. Good bass but not crazy.. people get them on a budget or just want bass but not super crazy about it... Me on the other hand... Got into a hunt into speakers and all I need if it's needed.. and yes I believe you need your car overall bad a s s. Fro door speakers either above your rear windshield or bottom of the seats.. going to go get some Rockford for all passengers. And either get. Box for the bottom of the bas of a Hyundai elantra 2016 se. Or plan to get it on the rear back window. Either 10 or 12. And getting some weather tech floor Matt's way better then any floor matt. Went with a hyped up floor matt are good but not a yr complete maybe 7 months.. and the logo was loose. While weather tech can kick drag scratch out mud. Water spills. Sharp boots smooth sandles. Flip flops. Whatever. and won't effect it at all..people well be shocked that this little car wel sound crazy. And of course going to deep clean my car crisp and clean. Get as much nasty smells out. Before purchasing a red leather seats. And add ceramic tint all around the car. Switch the taillight with up to date lights..and this by Tommorow I well have brand new tires for them. New shocks. Front and rear. Led front and back all ready installed.. and worth every penny.. I well have to ask around Florida and see how is able to pretty much go from stock leg room.. to nice leg room and able to stretch comfortably... And if ANYONE knows where I can improve drastically the height of it at least 3 inches PLEASE send me a link. Cross our fingers the shocks improve the height. Carry minimum 200 pounds of weight in the back. Not including us 5 which is 150 each person.. and people think its ugly or unimpressed.. THATS THE POINT🫨😎😎😎😂😂 while I owe a 2020 expedition upgraded in 5k in speakers. And still have other things planned... No am not rich... Was broke 14 yrs back. Didn't owe a car more could afford. A can of coke or a bag of chips.. everything 2nd hand... 23 yrs old man.. happy with a girl I have.. trust the process. Live life don't worry.. your time well come keep grinding.
Awesome Installation video, you used the same procedure i did, utilize the actual (original factory molding) to install my rockfords without spending extra money for mounting braces.. My added touch was to apply all weather silicone on the speaker and modified bracket to make the system air tight!! Kudos for an awesome selection of speakers and a thorough install Vid!!!!!!😇🤜🤛👍😎
@@MrJamesgrate thanks James! That sounds like a solid touch you did you there, good on ya!
Rockford Fosgate is a great brand and the quality is very good. What I would say is that the stock speakers are typically set for a stock radio. If you installed an amplifier, they would sound dramatically better. There’s a great video on CAF on UA-cam all about this. Don’t give up, I have Fosgate and everything.
Thanks for the comment man! Check out my JL Audio video 😏
Rockford Fosgate is Simply the Best. That is all gentlemen.
They’re literally just better
I love them, but I will admit they have some things that just aren't amazing
I installed a Rockford fosgate 6.75 prime series 3 way at the back door of my wrx..it was sound so nice and planning to put a component punch at the front door..I admired the Rockford fosgate how good clarity the sounds it was playing into..nice vid by the way..👍adding it on to my sound setup helps my bass a lot even the trebles..now the subwoofer sound more deeper with those Rockford fosgate at the rear door of my wrx especially when it’s already done breaking in..
I added in a JL AUDIO 10” sub and 500W amp and it’s such a good combo! Made a video on it if you’d like to check it out! Thanks for your comment!!!
@@hunterrwiilson I add some a soundstage 10” competition series for the sub and amp 1000 watts..but planning to replaced it with a Rockford fosgate too
@@joshrenzecastillo7740 sounds like a bangin' set up!
Amazing how muddy the stock speakers sound in cars especially in the bass frequencies.
@@drummonkeystuffuk1875 it’s so sad it’s just paper. It was too easy to tear apart
the original speakers in my scirocco dont look too bad...but throw any bass into them and they sound distorted and boomy. got some focal insides in the doors now on a high end alpine headunit.
Good job my guy, I have Rockford Power tweeters and Punch 6.75 x 4 and 2 Punch P3 10s powered with a Punch 1000x5 amp... rocking! So you rocking out!
Heck yeah man! How’re the tweeters?
@@hunterrwiilson I love them! I have the T1s and then swapped them for the T2s because I thought they were blown (bad installer) but I think they sound great!
The stock speakers are specifically designed for the car, Rockford fosgates are designed to be used with an amp, sub etc. the amp allows you to control the bass and alot more.
Good thing I got that JL 10” sub and amp to help amp them up!
@@hunterrwiilson should sound sick mate. Dk what it’s like in the US but the bloke at the speaker joint played a range of different speakers for me, he said the rockfords are what he recommends. Hope all works out and becomes a banging system for u mate👍
but I read on the website this type specifically claim to be used as replacement of factory speaker, so I guess the quality should be about 11-12 (pretty close), could be the factory one better, or the rockford slightly better
hey bro so if i were to put 2 of those on the front doors would they be way better if i got a amp to connect them to instead of leaving them wired up as stock ?
Agreed, Rockford speakers require more than what the head unit can deliver.
This is due to what's called sensitivity. The materials in the speaker from the factory are lighter and require less power to get sound, so will sound louder with same power. I see you have since upgraded and added some things just reading comments in here. Frequency response is the next thing to pay attention to. If your looking for more low end in a component without adding a subwoofer having a speaker that has a lower response is what you want.
I’m looking for more treble at the moment. Been thinking about changing the stock tweeters to some aftermarket ones to give more sound from the “lyrics” and that way the bass won’t be so overbearing. But I’ll need to add a 6-way amp to get true power from them.
@@hunterrwiilson are the factory tweeters working? Sometimes oem speakers have crossover built in for tweeters.
@@Aligntechngamer they do just fine but the bass can really overpower the music if you know what I mean
I recently purchased a used 2021 Nissan Frontier, that came with an 10-speaker, 380 amp Rockford Fosgate sound system. The subwoofer has two 6" dual voice coil speakers. I am convinced that a sound system included in the vehicle has a subwoofer for sales-bait purposes only. There is never a separate volume control JUST for the subwoofer. So, if the user turns the bass up on the sound system mixer, all 10 little speakers try to pump out more bass. My ear has to be within 12" of the subwoofer to even hear it.
Sounds like it may be time for another aftermarket sub and bass knob
@@hunterrwiilson Thanks for responding. I agree that if you want to hear the Rockford Fosgate subwoofers in a Nissan Frontier, you will need an upgraded system. (I had a Honda CRV with a much promoted sound system, and no one could hear that subwoofer either.)
@@obsoletevalues6209 of course! If anything, try installing an amp and seeing what that extra power paralleled with your stock head unit does.
The stock speakers souns better in my opinion lack of highs though. Rockford Fosgate sounded really flat.. no bass.
I did the T1650-S with P400-4 amp and its really great
They did sound pretty bad without some extra help. But I installed a JL Audio 500W amp and it helped incredibly.
Nice clear highs from the Rockfords and like others said an amp would help
They need more power. And although the factory ones had more bass. I can hear the better quality with the Rockfords. Add a sub.
Def needs a 6-way amp. But I did add a sub! JL Audio 10”
Would say stock has more "BUUMP" - the Rockford's have built in crossovers, but I'm near certain that only effects the Tweeters range... gonna need a SUB SON!
I DO think the Rockford's sounded better tho.
EDIT: I see ya got one in a later vid 🥳
I agree with everything you just said LOL. Looking to get a 6-way amp so I can get extra power to all my speakers and sub!
They do need break in time...mines seemed to need 200 hours then they lose that cracker box sound and then mid bass gets better
I agree. And adding an amp really assists that process.
if u use crutchfield they give u all the needed adapters free
Noted
I always thought so but are expensive.
Are a little pricey, but definitely worth it imo
Track down a cheap 4 channel full range amp and wire it the door speakers an those rockfords will really shine
Check out my JL Audio video 😏
I have a 21 Rouge Sport I want the 6.75 power series coaxial × 4. The power series 5 channel and the slim 10 in the ported Box.
Just replacing the speakers won’t really do anything for you. The Rockfords are meant to handle more power, so I’d get an amp
It only really helped with treble, but not much. I did add an amp though, but for my JL Audio Sub!
Rockford Fosgate sounds a lot more clear and crisp. OEM is just loud. It just needs a Sub.
Check out the most popular video on my channel, JL Audio 10” sub install 💪🏼
Your factory speakers might be 2ohm,which would explain the difference in sound, they do this so they don't have to use an Amp to drive them,I just replaced my entire system and that's when I found out it was a 2ohm system.
Did you have the Bose sound system?
@@urielhernandez3286 no,I had the base radio.
@@vanceproctor3568 oh because from what I know the front speakers of the sierra are 4 ohms and the rear are 8ohms I might be wrong
@@vanceproctor3568 I have a 2013 Silverado and I replaced the 4 speaker with some kicker cs 6.5 and when I was going to install them I saw that the stock rear ones were 8ohms and the front ones are 4 ohms and I put 4ohms speakers in the front and rear
Great video, but the speakers sound worse than the factory ones.
@@luisfuentes9696 they just need an amp to really get to their peak performance
You have officially learned how to jerry rig 😅
You right about that
If u want bass u need to get a subwoofer or some nice 6x9s and an amp
Check out my JL Audio video 😉
The RF speakers are under powered. Install an amp and you will notice the difference
I have a 500W JL Audio amp on them and it’s amazing
This is why you upgrade your amp first it will make the most out of your speakers
This is true
install an AMP to give the speakers more power and they will sound better
Check out my JL Audio video 👀
They have right power match 30 watt speakers and 30 watt deck and you put in 150 rms speakers with only 30 watts going to it
Are you referring to the tweeters?
Should have used JBL. They put out much better overall sound with superior bass and cost the same.
Always go with minimum punch series even the model says it
Minimum punch series?
Those speakers need an amp
That car stereo doesn’t have sufficient power for them you showed us the magnet so those speakers have more loudness in them why get louder speakers without amp? You cant expect more power by changing speakers only the same stereo doesn’t produce more power by just changing the speaker it has the same power. You need an amp body
Update 1 yr later?
I can definitely make a video on this! For a verbal update, I added in a JL 10” sub and 500W amp. Absolutely everything that these door speakers needed to really “bump” up the music quality. Hope this helps some!
U need an amp if you want it louder than stock dummy?
I know that now, dummy ;)
Get a sub woofer
Rockford fosgate full range speakers suck, compare to other name branded full range speakers. Although better than stock speakers, but their Watts are average to low powered. As a result when you turn up the volume to highest level on your stereo, it starts distorting and what not. Jl audio speakers are much better and they can handle more power. Higher lines of Alpine, kenwood, sony, pioneer, speakers are all much better than rockford speakers. Definitly cannot compare them with Focal, morel, hertz, audiofrog.
I’m waiting to get a 6-way amp to add for my sub and door speakers. Asked a guy how much one was and he said $600 😳 I opted to wait some time haha
Get yourself a sub if you want bass no speakers can compete with that
You should see my JL Audio 10'" sub video then!
you should have went JBL
Wanted to but didn’t have the money at the time 🥲
