Nice to see this year LG have done more upgrades rather than just the processor and there lighter this year hopefully there will be a noticeable increase in brightness for HDR
I have the 77" C1 and it's pretty incredible. I also have an older 65" C8 and its good too. I don't know if I've mentioned this before (probably, sorry) but the stand on the C8 was fairly reflective, I had to put black velvet on top of it otherwise it was just too distracting. The C1's stand didn't require that as it fine as is. The C2 stand looks pretty much the same as far as I can tell. Of course most people will mount the TV above their fireplace anyway. :/
I honestly dont think Ill ever mount a TV. I tried it once and not only is it hell to take down if you're moving.. but, it also looked so odd. Ill always prefer the stand!

@@o_KingOfKings_o I have LG C6 OLED For over 5 years now, no problems only thing is motion blurr since I don't think it's 120hz. But want to upgrade, Will it be a huge upgrade in picture quality compared to the C2? Or should I get the Newly announced Samsung QDOLED? The price is very affortable
Would be great seeing the G2 compared to a G1 or C1 to see how much that one can push with the heatsink compared to the panels that we all know by now. Thanks!
Great video Shane. And as I told Brian I think LG has hit another home run out of the park with the C2. Do I think it's enough to replace my C1 with? No. But a beautiful looking tv no doubt about it.
The G2 has higher peak luminance as LG intergraded their new heat sync that cools the OLED panel. The audio in also upgraded on the G2 and it has the no gap wall mount built-in. The C2 has the older ATSC 2.0 OTA tuner and the G2 has the Next Gen ATSC 3.0 tuner.
Did you noticed that there is a bug when switching the "Just scan" to ON? The left side bezel "gets bigger" because the TV shifts the image to the right!! It happens with my cable set top box and with my Apple TV 4k. I have one 77 C2 with the latest firmware. Any tip to solve this? Is it a firmware bug or a defect? I have to keep Just scan OFF to get equal left/top/right bezel size but the image is zoomed:(
Yeah.. That is definitely the impression you get.. which is a shame because there's TV that use legs and are amazing.. I also think at first glance that a TV is probably cheap crap if it has legs instead of a centre stand
My opinion is bigger would be more immersive. I just pulled the trigger and ordered a 77" C1 myself! Upgrades this year are good, but not massive. For me the cost savings was worth it.
Definitely the 77 c1. The improvements won't be noticeable unless you have them right next to each other. The size however, is easily noticeable under all circumstances as opposed to 25 percent more brightness in a peak window for hdr. Bigger is better for movies, no way around it. Especially when the 2 tv are this close and of such high caliber to begin with. Both are amazing, so go big.
The LG may turn out to be the more sensible choice this year. LG has stepped things up as they seem aware of the competition and like to stay ahead with quality and value for money. I was initially contemplating the A95K but I will likely end up going for the G2
It's actually impressive the TV starts to gain details back at the 2,000 nit area which means the TV doesn't do too bad with 2,000 nit HDR10 content not too bad for an oled, but was dynamic tone mapping enabled at the 2,000 nit mark?
Does anyone know if LG OLEDS of this year will be compatible with PS5’s upcoming Vrr function? As far as I’ve come to understand PS5 will be supporting "HDMI Forum Vrr" - not freesync nor g-sync. 🤔 I’m really confused about it and no one at the tv stores know the answer to my question. I’m considering buying a LG G2 this year, but only if it is fully compatible with my PS5. I don’t want a A90j because it only has 2 2.1hdmi ports - and I think 4 2.1hdmis port seem a bit more future-proof.
