Got the C2 this past weekend and its my first oled. Everything looks beautiful and the inky blacks look amazing. When i rewatch shows and movies from the past its like im watching a totally different show. I rewatched The Batman and the dark scenes and the bright highlights look amazing. This tv was a worthy purchase and I plan to keep it for a long time!

Bought 7 weeks ago. LG C2 65inch OLED in early Jan 2023. Best tv ever. Perfect for movies & high quality tv series. Works well in a moderately bright room. Coupled with a good surround sound system (5.1 AV receiver) and you don’t get a better experience. I couldn’t be happier.

Now that QD solves the washed out whites and allows for full luminance translation you don't need DV to account for WOLED shortcomings. The image produced resolves in full color volume without the need of specific color tuning or tone adjustment with the kind of brightness the panel emits, I can personally attest to that after having used it for the last week.

The C1 OLED has an outstanding image quality, and is definitely underrated.
The perfect screen uniformity and blacks levels makes it really stand out from most TV’s, at a really affordable price tag.
Also, the C1 has around the same brightness than the C2 in SDR, which is the content that most people will watch more often.
HDR content looks stunning with vibrant colors, could be little brighter for HDR but you won’t really feel like you need it.

Yes, the C1 is a better buy, and in my opinion, it's the better television, picture quality and all.
Edit: Do not trust customer reviews, especially the ones that I have seen for the C2 on Google. Most of them are fake, and if you see where they come from, you'll understand. There are plenty of reasons why bots or employees will go onto other websites, and they have. In the end, this sounds like a petty justification for buying another television. A 5-star review and the size of the television/sharpness have nothing to do with each other. Unless it is honestly stated and displayed, I would not trust it.

Sure the C2 is better but is it $900 better??? Hell no. You're not looking at the bigger picture. Just because something is better doesn't mean it's worth the price premium better. Why buy a C2 when you can buy a C1 which is extremely close to the C2 in performance at only 65% of the price. Everything is price to performance related and the C2 doesn't hold up in that department. Definitely not dumb to go with the C1 at all. Another stellar review Caleb. And I'm not just talking about the C2. Your reviews from a real world perspective are the best on UA-cam hands down. Vincent over at HDTV Test is the best technical guy but I will watch everything you review as your opinion is point on every time.
I'm planning on upgrading my C8 this year as I want to move on from a 65 inch panel into a 77 and this year honestly is the hardest choice yet. I'm really curious about seeing true head to heads with QD Oled tech, but because the size isn't there, yet, it's really down to the C2 and the G2 which I'm curious about when you might be reviewing that panel. The Sony's are beautiful but I really dislike their firmware delays over other brands.
Keep up the great work 👍

Thanks for the review I got the C2 a few days ago on sale and wow amazing
I first bought a Hisense U8 but had some verrical DSE and i didnt want to play the return game and hope the replacement is better because it could be worse. I can look past some things but Dirty Screen Effect is not something i can live with and besides rhe U8 wasnt all I thought it would be.
After watching lots of UA-cam videos and reddit comments the LG C2 kept being brought up over and over as the best TV to get especially for the picture and no DSE (dirsty screen effect). Best advice I've ever been given its so good I feel lucky and thankful for all the advice and reviews here on youtube its thr really good side of social media.

Long story short, I would like to see a comparison of the G2 vs the C2 to see if it is worth the extra money.
I don't like the fact that the Samsung S95B QD-OLED has intentionally inaccurate color mapping to look more saturated, even in filmmaker mode, and that it still puts its own tone mapping over top of HGIG tone mapping in games, which can make some parts of the screen look blown out due to the undefeatable second layer of tone mapping. The Sony A95K QD-OLED likely won't have these problems, and I can live with only having two HDMI 2.1 ports, but the roughly $3000 price tag for a 55" TV is hard to justify.
This leaves me with deciding between a 55" LG G2 and a 55" LG C2. Or, if the benefits of the G2 aren't worth the price difference, then saving a bit more money and dropping down to a 48" C2 since my current TV is only a 42" and jumping up to a 55" in the same space seems almost too big.

Could also have something to do with the content they play on the tv's at the store. They are running top quality provided content for sales purposes. It makes tv's that won't look as good at home due to available content and how it is provided.....direct connect (4k player) versus satellite for example, look as good as it can. So to compare them at the store it should be identical content playing at the same time, otherwise it can be misleading. But I don't know what the other tv is you're looking at so it could just be a solid tv at a good price.

Hard disagree on updating the remote with a built in battery. Don't need another thing to recharge or another piece of eWaste when the controller doesn't hold a charge anymore. I've got some Eneloops in my remote I switch out two to three times a year. Easy peezy.
And I love the motion controls in the Magic Remote. I still think that makes LG's the best out there.
