"As a big Resident Evil/Biohazard fan I've wanted to create a mix like this for awhile. The Save Room is one of the most important locations in the Resident Evil games. No I don't mean to save your progress! Rather the rooms serve a break from the horror that lurks outside, a much needed contrast the defines the detective/horror setting. Not only are we safe within its walls, but they leave clues to what happened before us, who else hid in here? Did they leave any notes on their research?
Resident Evil wouldn't be the games they are without the Save Room. So this long music mix is my attempt to highlight themes that influence me in the same way, while I roll up some red and green herb!
Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did compiling it
- Simon, Atrium Carceri."

It's an old typewriter.
If I had an Ink Ribbon, I could save my progress...
Misery...
And so,
There were 200 Likes...
There's no old typewriter there dude..
My brother-in-law told me to play the video game he had in the Play Station, under the stipulation that I play it in the dark... Classic game, you brought back some great memories. Have a good one.
RESIDENT EVIIIIIIIIIIIIIL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The save room theme was always that one moment of peace before the storm, before you had to go out and face the horrors of the world again. In that room, you could find temporary solace.
a brief moment of respite
And to check news feed. Or eat cake. Or anything.
YES!!! 🙌🏾😩
and a moment of silence in solitude
Except in the new Resident Evil 3, which Nemesis can burst into the (not so) safe room
Resident Evil 2 is the game that changed my life for the better. I'll never forget it, I was in 5th grade my buddy had it, he invited me over to play it. Unforgettable. Then a few days later we had a writing assignment in class. We had to write a half page of our own stories. I thought it was too easy, a half page. I ended up writing 7 pages back to back about my own events in Raccoon City. The assignment was due the same day, but I ended up taking it home to refine it. Overall I ended up writing 21 full pages, and when I turned it in to my teacher, she had this odd look of surprise on her face. Story is, RE2 is the game that made me want to write and create my own stories and worlds! Thank you Simon, this only adds fuel to my imagination!!
That sounds like something I would do, lol, turning a 1/2 page writing assignment into a 21-page writing assignment. Do you remember what grade you got? And are you still writing?
Memories...... Damn
This is actually so sweet

Immediately feel calm and safe listening to this.
Don't be afraid. Face your nightmares.
I'm redpilling every single day.
I will always come out safe and sound
Well said 👏
We're living it
Flowers for Bodysnatchers is some of the most melancholic yet beautiful music I've ever heard.
I love this. Heard it years ago, but don't think i realized how great the music is until now. Sometimes a listen years later makes me really hear it for the first time. Wonderful.
Some of this themes remind me of the ol' cry of fear of how depressing can the world always be regardless your day could be a joyful one until it came to a point where it has to end for now.
Cry of Fear? Like the game?
Please indulge!
The safer the room is, the darker outside
I loved the music that used to play on the typewriter save menu..... My hand were always trembling
Resident Evil 4 has so many memories
RE4 is no scarry. You pussy
Ofcourse it wasn't ya dumpy loaf of bread... but my fear of losing without saving and having to repeat the same thing over and over was ('__')
many memories but no ink ribbons
Waleed Bin Alim I absolutely loved your response to that guy- You made me laugh so hard my dog looked at me funny. Thanks for that. =][=
You're welcome. Also pat your dog for me haha, Stay Blessed !
Thanks, CC and Atrium. I like the crystal-clear quality of the field recordings. As much as I love desolate polar ambient or morbid horror ambient, it's really nice to have some more emotionally-neutral or even positive soundscapes like this. I've got some friends who whine that "all dark ambient sounds the same" - but that's not true, and I always look forward to hearing the diverse mixes Cryo Chamber artists concoct.
_I've got some friends who whine that "all dark ambient sounds the same"_
Literally never happened.
TheBlarggle You'd be suprised.
An awesome and unexpected upload that brings serenity to the heart of this long-time Resident Evil fan.
This is the best mix I've ever heard in my life. It's the soundtrack of just being alive and relishing in safety as a sufficient means of being grateful.
🤔......Fr.
The transition into Floor 6 is the most magnificent thing I've ever experienced.
When I hear Dead Melodies - A Trial of Crows and Blood....
I entered a room with a lite fireplace after running all night from a horde of the undead. It's safe with a small bed next to a large painting of a lake in the moonlight. The glow of the fire is calming and warm. I sit there in this chair, taking a deep breath being safe. I check my gun, finding it only has 6 rounds left. But I found a extra clip next to the head along with a note of a person that no longer walking a human on this earth. The clip gives some hope. I know I'll have to go back out there, but for now, I have a moment of calm.
The kind of music I listen when playing The Long Dark. Inside a cabin, sheltered from the dark and harsh weather, sitting at a cozy flame
this fokkn crow at the beggining. Very good job at implementing it
This is just...calmingly captivating. Dark, but at ease.
Just a moments solace between the raindrops, way to completely capture that feeling of coming off an adrenaline rush and knowing you can't stay here forever
I love this mix and music like this as a music producer. Goes so well with the concept of save room. These tracks gave me the vibes of both serenity and agony. Something like a lurking fear or grief, under the safety and calmness.
That's a rather original theme for a mix, I love it.
10:26 sending chills all over my spine... One of the most memorable parts of all the music on CC!
He sat in an old rickety chair. The damn thing worn by time and tide. However, amazingly. It remained not only strong enough to hold and support a full grown man, but a fully grown man with a shotgun on his lap.
The man was irritated, distressed even. He muttered to himself as he loaded the firearm with the shells he managed to scrounge up on his way there.
"First... there were fuckin zombies"
The first shell slid and clicked into the waiting chamber, then was chambered by way of giving the weapons slider a quick pump.
"Then there were a buncha crazy naked people"
The second shell clicked.
"Next, Big ass bugs."
Click. Click. Click.
"Don't get me started on that creepy ass little girl."
Click...
"Now there's a damn doll staring at me through the window like I'm a damn snack.''
He gave an annoyed grunt as he loaded the last two shells, well aware that the hungry and very pissed off... Things out side the door waited for his return.
The chair he sat on groaned in protest against his leaning forward. Figuring the thing would shatter at literally any second he stood, Resting the shotgun on his shoulder as he eyed the door. The only way in and out of the temporary safe haven he found himself in.
"Welp..." He said taking a deep breath. "Mama ain't raise no bitch."
"Things out side the door waited for his return." Powerful phrase. It gives be a hopeless and a gung-ho vibe, both at the same time.
/ think you will like it , ambient album for almost an hour ua-cam.com/video/CvgHzNHSROo/v-deo.html
I've never played a Resident Evil game so I don't know the feel of a "save room." But this has got to be one of my favorite mixes of yours. It feels like I'm in my own little safe space away from the anxiety and chaos of the outside world. I'm still aware of everything happening outside but for now I can listen to this mix and relax in the moment.
This is the mix for me! Finally a small compilation of some of my favorites from this label!!! Thank you!
I didn't know you liked Resident Evil 💚
The mix I never knew I needed.
I love the mood of the music and the photo. Wonderful!
that's the best mix I've ever listened to, i love it so much, every night I'm falling asleep to this
The jazz vibe in this is killer. So good.
Thank you for this mix which I didn't even know that I needed. It's beautiful.
brilliant. just brilliant. i have a feeling this will expand the channel's popularity - a fact with which i am torn.
Ludovico Street I know exactly what you mean, my friend-
amazing mix. like the dark jazzy vibe with the brush percussion
Majestic and soothing at the same time.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this mix.
Thank you for listening, I've had this mix in the back of my mind for awhile.
@@cryochamberlabel Still one of my favorites, come back to.. organize my save file however I swapped over to hardcore difficulty [DNR] I will not have access to the my save files upon death:
i simply get to look at the thumbnails for now on but I've even grew tired of that.
There is a peace no longer looking behind, and understanding that this journey in it of itself is transitory.
Hope everyone else listening to this always amazing mix is healthy and safe. Crazy times.
The first one, is quite frankly, my most favorite one out the entire entry list
Hooooo..one of the best ever chapter of ATRIUM CARCERI.thank u so much for sharing this piece of art...love it.
Love this mix! It’s like I feel the nostalgia from back then playing the Old Resident Evil games.
Neat name lol!
@@redstaplerguyforlifepastpr5763 thank you! I came up with it myself lol
Quiet Days on Earth is perhaps my favorite track that this group of artists has put out in the past two years. It’s just perfect.
Never get tired listen to this album..awesome.
Can't believe I've been missing out on this mix. Great picks
Cryo Chamber and Resident Evil, two great things brought together!
Immediately put a smile on my face. You guys are the best. Good stuff.
This is save room. For a moment you feel safe, you would like it never to end. Unfortunately you do not have ink ribbon. You only have one life and in a moment you will come back to reality. A reality full of human monsters, violence, cruelty, disease... Humanity should be labeled as a biohazard.
Unfortunately, it's not only humanity that is a biohazard... It's the whole nature's world that is a biohazard. In all nature there is violence, cruelty, disease and death. It's just a matter of time that everyone or their loved ones will hurt, suffer and die.
Shhh... You're safe now.
Lmao!
Jeez the first song is really inspiring me to write more of my horror story... I like it :)
What a beautiful mix, this one is definitely one of my favourites, right now.
Been listening to this over and over since the upload. Beautiful work.
Incredible mix, God Body Disconnect is always amazing
Timeless...
excellent compendium of sound
I must be getting pretty old since I can remember using phones with a rotary dial. Well, not quite 50, yet. Still have about five and a half months of being in my 40's. :) But to be honest, as much as I enjoy all this easily accessible wonderful music I'm glad I got to experience living in the quieter days of no internet or cell phones. Heck, for years I never even owned a phone and had to walk down the street to use the nearest pay phone to get in touch with anyone.
This piece is absolutely stunning.
35:20 That singing is so eerie. It sounds like a dead person's PA broadcast somewhere in an abandoned bunker or something.... a great track!
Cryo Chamber has some great mixes, but I keep coming back to this one in particular. Keep up the great work.
Thank you!
You have once again entered the world of survival horror
Good luck!
The best save room song of Resident Evil series was definitely Resident Evil 2!
Noooo, the best save room song of resident evil series is resident evil 3 nemesis ;)
JK all are equally good
re 4 has best save room theme
I know tgis will never be seen by you Mr Simon but this incredible compilation reminds me of the sad calm after you complete SOMA
Was seen by me, and approved :)
@@cryochamberlabel Gee thanks!
@@cryochamberlabel a stupid question Simon. How long do you work daily? And do each of you artists associated with Cryo Chamber work individually to make their respective solo tracks?
When I saw the thumbnail I thought that phone was an armored car in some sort of garage. RIP my eyesight.
Wow this cool, just discovered this, nice mix!
And There Is A Darkness was an instant Cryo Chamber classic the day it came out.
Thanks mate!
this is absolutely heavenly.
U talking about trying to keep up with the pace of being human?
Your name is what I'm asking about oops.
@Cryo Chamber
Dear Simon, I've adored your music for a long time and have found the CC label on youtube a couple months ago. Please, for the love of sound - more mixes like this one. Calm dark ambient. It exists and oh my, it's beautiful. Cheers!
Very well done tribute to PS1 horror games.
great work
Oh this is just absolutely exquisite

Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did compiling it - Simon, Atrium Carceri." - AS ALWAYS!
I still listen to this music. On my way to and from work. I feel I just finished a supply run and am returning home as I navigate through the ruins of humanity. It times out perfectly, when I leave the stressful parts of the drive @29:35 when the door creeks, I feel like I just arrived at my safehouse.
Fucking fantastic line up for this mix.
Your best mix
Absolutely incredible.
The storm would not exist without the calm before it.
💙 I love this kind of music 💙
/ook here soon , infernal musical journey ua-cam.com/video/CvgHzNHSROo/v-deo.html
42:01 is more silent hill-ish than resident evil but I like both, just saying reminiscing of resident evil that track is somehow out of place in the mix(in a good way)
again, I don't mind it adds to the diversity and contrast of the mix
awesome work as always :)
29:34 has the same Silent Hill feel. I can see James looking for his wife, Mary. It's stunning either way.
Ripley is on the other side of those doors, better charge my suit.
never disappointed ;D
So who else is stoked about that RE 2 remake coming out next January!!
Me!
Cryo Chamber The E3 release trailer literally had the entire audience roaring louder than. Super Bowl crowd. I'm probably going to buy a PS4 just to get this game.
Blake Crutchfield
You can play it on Xbox, PS4 and I think PC. Resident Evil was never really a true exclusive to any platform.
Dont go Out!! - Walter

Very Cool!
I feel v. safe rn
It took me to that dark places...
just perfect.
i knew i was missing something
"Load up and don't fuck it up" is what I tell myself in the save rooms T_T
I love how impending 26:02 is. It just creeps and creeps. Beautiful and haunting.
Amazing👏👏👏
so good
Amazing.
