Resident Evil 2 is the game that changed my life for the better. I'll never forget it, I was in 5th grade my buddy had it, he invited me over to play it. Unforgettable. Then a few days later we had a writing assignment in class. We had to write a half page of our own stories. I thought it was too easy, a half page. I ended up writing 7 pages back to back about my own events in Raccoon City. The assignment was due the same day, but I ended up taking it home to refine it. Overall I ended up writing 21 full pages, and when I turned it in to my teacher, she had this odd look of surprise on her face. Story is, RE2 is the game that made me want to write and create my own stories and worlds! Thank you Simon, this only adds fuel to my imagination!!
That sounds like something I would do, lol, turning a 1/2 page writing assignment into a 21-page writing assignment. Do you remember what grade you got? And are you still writing?
@@v.9524sorry for the late reply, I remember getting an A- on it. There were a few errors, such as commas in the wrong places. I am still writing but not as much as I used to. 29:34, “Quiet Days on Earth” Definitely a favorite of mine, feels like the character is taking stock of their supplies and rest. Maybe a small couch or cot for a few hours as the sun sets slowly. They wake up and realize they must go out and face the horrors of their setting.
The save room theme was always that one moment of peace before the storm, before you had to go out and face the horrors of the world again. In that room, you could find temporary solace.
@Easy Peasy We're sorry, you have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service. We're sorry *STATIC* yOU hAVe REACHED a WRONG NUMBER.
Thanks, CC and Atrium. I like the crystal-clear quality of the field recordings. As much as I love desolate polar ambient or morbid horror ambient, it's really nice to have some more emotionally-neutral or even positive soundscapes like this. I've got some friends who whine that "all dark ambient sounds the same" - but that's not true, and I always look forward to hearing the diverse mixes Cryo Chamber artists concoct.
I love this. Heard it years ago, but don't think i realized how great the music is until now. Sometimes a listen years later makes me really hear it for the first time. Wonderful.
This is the best mix I've ever heard in my life. It's the soundtrack of just being alive and relishing in safety as a sufficient means of being grateful.
I love this mix and music like this as a music producer. Goes so well with the concept of save room. These tracks gave me the vibes of both serenity and agony. Something like a lurking fear or grief, under the safety and calmness.
Some of this themes remind me of the ol' cry of fear of how depressing can the world always be regardless your day could be a joyful one until it came to a point where it has to end for now.

I've never played a Resident Evil game so I don't know the feel of a "save room." But this has got to be one of my favorite mixes of yours. It feels like I'm in my own little safe space away from the anxiety and chaos of the outside world. I'm still aware of everything happening outside but for now I can listen to this mix and relax in the moment.
When I hear Dead Melodies - A Trial of Crows and Blood.... I entered a room with a lite fireplace after running all night from a horde of the undead. It's safe with a small bed next to a large painting of a lake in the moonlight. The glow of the fire is calming and warm. I sit there in this chair, taking a deep breath being safe. I check my gun, finding it only has 6 rounds left. But I found a extra clip next to the head along with a note of a person that no longer walking a human on this earth. The clip gives some hope. I know I'll have to go back out there, but for now, I have a moment of calm.
He sat in an old rickety chair. The damn thing worn by time and tide. However, amazingly. It remained not only strong enough to hold and support a full grown man, but a fully grown man with a shotgun on his lap. The man was irritated, distressed even. He muttered to himself as he loaded the firearm with the shells he managed to scrounge up on his way there. "First... there were fuckin zombies" The first shell slid and clicked into the waiting chamber, then was chambered by way of giving the weapons slider a quick pump. "Then there were a buncha crazy naked people" The second shell clicked. "Next, Big ass bugs." Click. Click. Click. "Don't get me started on that creepy ass little girl." Click... "Now there's a damn doll staring at me through the window like I'm a damn snack.'' He gave an annoyed grunt as he loaded the last two shells, well aware that the hungry and very pissed off... Things out side the door waited for his return. The chair he sat on groaned in protest against his leaning forward. Figuring the thing would shatter at literally any second he stood, Resting the shotgun on his shoulder as he eyed the door. The only way in and out of the temporary safe haven he found himself in. "Welp..." He said taking a deep breath. "Mama ain't raise no bitch."
