I'm drunk, so I'll give away one of my secrets: This video was the soundtrack to a whole book and at least five short stories. It always inspires me to write. Thank you.
Exactly what I was looking for. Everything else always has a moment of extremeness in the mix, but this has a perfect blend of relaxing and moody vibes with that dark tone mixed in.
27:20 too dope ..being a bedroom producer who spends hours hunting for samples and inspiring fresh new music its extremely rare when i come across new genres that make me go "wow" ..that being sad dark jazz has to be the illest shit ive heard in years. Halo ODST actually brought me here. I was struggling to find a genre befitting of "Deference for Darkness", but I think this works well. That feeling of calmness in isolation, a sort of abandoned, alone feeling.
Same here! I started appreciating jazz music more thanks to ODST, especially the dark kind of jazz like this that make you feel alone but calm and relaxed.
this mix is hauntingly beautiful i love it. perfect for focusing on writing, school work, drawing or just being completely immersed in the ambiance and music

These mixes are all pretty great. Usually I'll play them while reading or napping. This one, however, I listened to with intent. It reminds me of: Angelo Badalamenti's scores for David Lynch films Delìrium Còrdia by Fantômas Virgin Suicides by Air Romances by Kaada/Patton and maybe just a touch of Blade Runner by Vangelis

There's a sense of both peace, and conflict in this music. Like you're entering into the fulcrum of a large event in your life. It pulls your heart in different directions and sends shivers down your skin. Music is yet another form of expression, and sometimes, more effective than words at conveying meaning and symbolism for those who know how to listen for it. In light of these observations, I would say that this music is like those moments when you have so many things to say, but not the right words to say them with. And that's deeply, beautifully expressed. Encore.
Well, it's Dark Jazz, similar to Dark Ambient. An age-old reference for Dark Jazz is Bohren und der Club of Gore: ua-cam.com/video/70JgUS_dhYY/v-deo.html
I'm having to read The Big Sleep by Raymund Chandler for a class and this really helps getting through it. It's also great ambience for writing. Thanks a lot for putting it all together!

Not gonna lie, this is good music for reading suspenseful and horror books. I’m out here reading The Damnation Game while listening to this and I got the chills.
Honestly, I wanna see the ever lost film style of Horror Noir. Its like Silent Hill meets Dick Tracie, maybe even some Sin City edge. P.I. gets a case in looking for someone in a town that has a dark side. Just like the normal silent hill, but with a guilt noir feel in it here & there. Jazz music is vast and i would still call this jazz at it fullest and most abstract. People saying it not jazz don't have a wide enough scope.
I love this, feels like I'm in a David Lynch-esque neo-noir movie.
Luke'sOpinions the owls are not what they seem..
Atrium Carceri, Cities Last Broadcast, God Body Disconnect - Quiet Days on Earth C'est du Balamenti en effet!
"You can't see the light without the dark, and you can't see either when you're dead."
Especially with the thumbnail for the video being very reminiscent of Lost Highway
put this on your earphones and go walk around...day or night...reality smells more real.
lol
True to that.
I feel like I'd have to be looking over my shoulder constantly, like it'd be the last walk through town I'd ever take.
I bet that dog shit is gonna smell really real when you walk past it.

I love it....the opportunities of electronic and abstract music combined with great orchestration skills.
Born in August but this winter musical touch is a diamond to the forgotten soul...
i love this vibe, its hard to pinpoint and even harder to find examples.
I'm in a very cold and dark place listening to this.... it's oh so quiet. What lovely music.
This is like L.A. Noire and Silent Hill had a baby. I like it.
Strangely accurate.
Now this needs a game to go along with it
imagine akira yamaoka on a Noire movie Soundtrack
Wonderful sound... smooth and easy on the ears. Another classic for Cryo Chamber.
It mellows you out until 13:33. and then, amazing audio dreams
This one killed me. Damn. Such a good channel/label. So consistently THE vibe.
Listening to this over a rain track. It's perfect.
Imagine a movie about ancestor and descendant private eyes, working across time to solve a conspiracy, a case, between the noire 30's and the cyberpunk 2130's.
Write it, don't give it away. The damn idea is the hardest thing to come up with!
I am writing a book and I agree with @Erg Budster, don't give away ideas like that. Write them!
That’s Lowkey what assassin‘s creed tried to be before they screwed up the story. Give it a go! Open market ⚡️⚡️
The fact that you have synced your idea to this music puts you in the right direction.. I think. You've got to work on it!
terrible.
so youtube recommend me this in Christmas, what a gift huh?
I love this. Brooding, dreamy, cozy and unsettling at the same time.
I love the comments. It's so cool to see how music touches people differently.
This is great music for listening at night. Such a well developed atmosphere of sadness, tension and anger.

Very Silent Hill-ish !!! Love it !!!
So beautiful, yet dark and tragic. Thank you.
It offers options about reality. Well crafted
Soothing yet harmonically deep sounds to keep my mind afloat
Great, reminds me of killimanjaro dark jazz ensemble :D
Also check out Bohren & Der Club of Gore. I think this resembles their sound a little bit more actually.

Can we get a dark Western ambient mix? I love listening to this stuff as I play DayZ.
Listening to this while writing an essay on Wittgenstein's works. Superb!
Everyone in the comments are vibing, I’ve never explored this kinda mood and I’m intrigued by all of you dark mysterious lads

Thank god I found this channel, I have been looking for some DOOMJAZZ other than Bohren but couldnt find any that captured that atmosphere until this!
I don't like jazz at all, but this is my kind of jazz. Good job. Exactly what I thought it would be.
Honestly, I'm finding it difficult to even hear it as jazz.
It’s more ambient post rock than anything else
