0:35 - Something about how clear as a bell he sang this line is really hitting different rn. Like I'm not used to Kurt singing something so cleanly, it really shows how strong a foundation for singing he had. RIP

I think this performance made Bleach songs sound much better than they usually do live. The drums sound full and resonant, the mixing is done well, bass is maybe a little too quiet, but otherwise it sounds great.
That’s because bleach they made for fun, rather then being pressured into making it. They also had a different drummer at the time, chad Channing, who I think was really important to launching the band to success. I’ve met him irl he’s really nice very humble
The Senate don’t forget, Dale played Floyd, Paper Cuts, and Downer. Also they didn’t make Bleach for fun, they made it to put themselves on the scene. That’s why it’s so heavy and grungy in comparison to the next two (3, if you consider Incesticide).
The screenshots of this concert should be used as image reference to the term 'lightning in a bottle'. This is a perfect concert perfectly captured at a perfect time in the history of a particular movement.

The chorus is actually the I need an easy friend and the chorus repeats as an alternative chorus with the I’m standing in your line. You can tell because of the instrumental. This is what made Kurt such a genius. That’s why this song is so poppy it’s essentially the same thing over and over again but with the grunge overtones
He did that a lot and it always sounds so damn good. I always thought if he lived he certainly would have went in a direction that we saw on unplugged. I think he would have excelled at that even more than he did the heavy stuff. We have all missed out on so much great music. Very sad.

one of my favorite Nirvana songs. Kurt Cobain was a great singer, song writer, artist. He expressed his pain with his music. sadly, he couldn't escape his pain. the creative ones are often the most troubled.
You wouldn't want to auto-tune this -- you simply don't auto-tune grunge. But on another note, Kurt's voice was not amazing; he had horrible technique, and he knew it. It was perfect for his needs, but closer to the end he'd been warned again and again that he'd destroy his vocal if he kept on the way he did.
@@Gipsy_T. I hate to be that guy, but About a girl was on Bleach that was released in 1989. And I think autotune was first used in 97? But ignoring that, I totally agree with you! (not being sarcastic)

Considered Kurt Cobain's first great pop composition, it is said to have been written and recorded at home, after the musician spent an entire night listening to the album Meet The Beatles from the late eighties, Cobain sought to hide his intentions to write pop music, since he was afraid of dividing the band's fans with a sound different from grunge and the underground, he considered it to be something risky for the time.
this is the best About a Girl performing imo. mostly for the 1:18 part, here it soundo so powerful and hard but sweet and fun at the same time, with the perfect audio quality and the camera just makes it better. Not Mtv, not Bleach recording. This one hits so different

The fact that KC is playing it on a humbucker pickup (like in the original records) also has an importance in thickening the sound.
