      No this is the % of what's in the container whatever you're using for pre spray or post spray. Down streaming straight 10-12% bleach (that's what % most bleach is that you can buy) is about 2% downstreaming or if you mix half bleach half water it would be about 1%. You can't get higher than 2% down streaming unless you got crazy strong bleach but most I know of generally is 10-12%. If you bought 5% bleach from store (most general house bleach is about 5%) and down streamed it would come out about 1%.

  • @scotts1356
    @scotts1356 3 роки тому +4

    I'm brand new to ALL of this, so please bear with me. I "assume" your pre treating the surfaces with the SH and that's the percentages you're giving. So, are you using a different hose to put the SH on and how do you know how to figure out the percentages? Example: If you do a roof at 6%, do you fill a "jug" with water and then calculate how much of the SH to add to the water, to get the 6%? Thanks in advance.

    • @Kgoutdoor
      @Kgoutdoor 3 роки тому

      Down streaming comes out at a 5:1 ratio I’ve been told. So 12.5 in a bucket being pulled by your injector is really 2%. Might be ok for a driveway but that’s why people use pumps and soft wash systems rather than injectors when doing house washes or roofs. But I’m new to this also I just purchased a battery powered back pack sprayer that I’ll mix my bleach with water prior to get my result so if I wanted 6% I’ll mix 2.5gallons of sh and 2.5 gallons of water since I have 12.5.

      Divide, the percentage you want by the percentage strength of the bleach. Remember chemical injectors inject at a 4:1 ratio. So if you fill your tank all the way with 10 percent chlorine from home Depot and you use a chemical injector you will have 2 percent strength bleach coming out of the pressure washer. If you want it to be stronger, you need to use a softwash system.

    Is 6 percent bleach do you go 60 bleach 40 water? Or you times 6 percent by the amount your chemical tank can hold? Like you have a 25 gallon tank times 6 percent?

      pool shock comes in 10 percent and 12 percent. if we take one gallon of 12 percent and mix it with on e gallon of water now we have 6 percent

    Quick question: So how do I get 4-6% ratio with my pressure washer? I currently have a downstream injector..

    • @bol.8749
      @bol.8749 4 роки тому +1

      You can't with a down Stream injector. It won't draw that hot of a mix. Only a roof pump or x jet will throw the lava.

    • @MikeHoncho69420
      @MikeHoncho69420 4 роки тому

      Get a 12v pump for direct application. Then you can batch mix for your desired needs. Downstreaming will give you a very weak mix as stated. That’s okay for house washing but for roofs you’ll need a hotter mix.

    So if I fill a 5 gallon jug with 10% chem what's the % ? How much does it get deluted coming out of pressure washer?

    • @ZainAhmed-ns2di
      @ZainAhmed-ns2di 2 роки тому

      If you use 10 percent strength bleach and no water in the tank and then use a chemical injector, you will get about two percent strength if it has a 4:1 ratio. But make sure to check the ratio because yours might be different

    Does SH start degrading from the time it is produced or from the time the container is opened?

    • @kingofpressurewash
      @kingofpressurewash  4 роки тому +2

      I believe from the time it’s produced. Because if it sits in the bottle too long even unopened it will start dying

  • @imlennonhesgarrett
    @imlennonhesgarrett 3 роки тому

    I'm a little confused if anyone could answer my question.. So if I bought that 12.5% jug of SH and poured half of it into a separate empty container then filled the other half with water I would have a half jug of 12.5% and one full jug of 1.5%

    • @timothy2651
      @timothy2651 3 роки тому

      You would have a half jug of 12.5% and a full jug of 6.25% because it is diluted by half. (12.5%SH / 2 = 6.25%)

    Hey Jason I've been downstreaming for a bit now but I recently bought an xjet m5 I have a 5.6gpm with 2500psi should I pull straight SH with surfactant? Or dilute the SH in the carboy? Should I use a color tip for my xjet?

    • @kingofpressurewash
      @kingofpressurewash  4 роки тому +3

      I would dilute it down and spray it that way versus using the color tips

    Love your videos. But you cracked me up when you said to put the tip of your finger in and see if it turns white. Please don't go around telling people this. Bleach is a very strong oxidizing agent at 6-12%. Since people probably don't have test strips laying around how about suggesting some strips from an old blue towel or something and see how long it takes to turn that white? Anyway I love the videos aside from the finger test 🤣

    Can I use actual bleach from the grocery store? SH is expensive at the pool companies in my area

    • @ClapperDan
      @ClapperDan 3 роки тому

      Go to Lowe's and you can get a gallon of 10% SH for $5 bucks or 4 pack forn $15.
      You can use grocery store bleach but anything below 10% means you have to use more bleach which means buying more bleach
