    1. Running a 1.8 injector will cause you to draw more SH
    2. The hose length will make a difference.

    Hey Joe. Thx for the awesome video Ive been wondering if I can downstrean effectively with so many variables that impact draw rate and therefore no way to tell what I’m shooting. I’m going to do some draws tests now. If u ended up with 10 gallons, Wouldn’t u actually be a little hotter at 9:1 or 1.38? Also, I have to wonder if I throttle down will my SH ratios increase or do u think less gpm will pull less SH? Let me know what u think. Im gonna run several tests

    • @powerfulimprovements
      @powerfulimprovements  3 роки тому +1

      The difference between 9.1 and 10.1 is negligible. 10.1 is just easier math. You really just looking for a range. You’re never going to get a shock that’s perfect anyway. You just need a rough idea.

  • @danmack4336
    @danmack4336 3 роки тому +1

    Helpful, TY. Just a slight correction on your ratio, it’s actually 9:1 not 10:1... if you filled your graduated bucket with 1 gallon chemical and the result is 10 gallons total, then it’s 9:1 which would be slightly stronger shock to water ratio than your stated 10:1 ratio.

    • @powerfulimprovements

    Hello!! Little late to this party, but I do not currently have big tanks like you do. I have to start with 5 gallon buckets and a downstream injector. This is my first year power washing. My question is, just so I know I’m doing the math right, my chemical mix in my 5 gallon bucket would be 3 gallons of SH per 1 gallon of water? Then I also read 1/4 cup of surfactant for every gallon of bleach used.

I got a 1.8 injector for the proper gpm but feel as it's drawing too fast. I'd rather not refill buckets all the time. Should I increase dsi size to pull less? First and foremost, love your channel brother. Some things in the video are a bit confusing, and some have commented on it, and I agree. In the video, you say that your ratio is 10:1 (bleach to water). How is that possible when you start with 1 gallon of bleach, and then end up with 10 gallons of water? Should not your ratio read water to bleach? And should not the ratio be 9:1 (9 parts water to 1 part bleach.) If you end up with 10 gallons of water, and 1 gallon of it is bleach, 1 minus 10 is 9...1 part bleach, 9 parts water. You would then add the two numbers of the ratio together, in your case, 9 and the 1, which gives you 10. You would then divide 100 by 10, which is 10. When you subtract 10 from 100, you get 90. The "10" is your bleach, and the "90" left over will be your water ratio, giving you a 9:1, or 90% to 10% (water to bleach) mix. You would then take your bleach number, which would be 10%, and multiply by the percentage of SH that you would have. In your case, you're carrying 12.5% SH. 12.5 times 10 equals 125, which is 1.25% bleach at the tip of the gun if you're pulling straight bleach out of your chemical tank.
    If you're pulling a straight 10:1 (water to bleach), then in your case, you would add the two ratio numbers (10 and 1) which gives you 11. You would then divide 100 by 11, which gives you roughly 9.09. You then subtract 9.09 from 100, which gives you 90.91. So, 90.91 would be water, and 9.09 would be bleach, a 90.91:9.09. 9.09 times 12.5 equals 113.62, which comes to be 1.13625, basically 1.1% bleach at the tip. Not a big difference from the 9:1 ratio. The test works, just the ratio numbers are out of order. Water to Bleach, not Bleach to Water. Please check me to see if I'm right, hope this helps. You're doing an awesome job brother, keep it up!!!

    • @powerfulimprovements
      @powerfulimprovements  2 роки тому +2

      You’re not wrong. Just over thinking it. Use the easy 10:1 math if you are in the 9-11 range. It truly doesn’t need to be that precise for what we do and just makes it more complicated. 10:1 = roughly 1.25%. Also if we are getting technical, how do you know what % your SH is to start? You can’t test it, might be older 🤷🏼‍♂️. Just keep it simple. You clearly are smarter than most. Again not wrong.

      3:1 = 3 parts SH, 1 part Water, meaning 4 parts total. 3 out of 4 parts is the same as saying 3/4, or 75% of the mixture being SH. 75% of 12.5% (base SH strength) = 9.375% effective SH in the batch. It’s written correctly in the list of mixes (3:1 = 75%, 2:1 = 67%, 1:1 = 50%) but not a huge difference so even if someone is misled I doubt they fry off someone’s siding or flower beds over it ya know
