@@claxcz i decided to get the 7900xtx, but now i regret it, amd driver update is lagging behind and for the new AAA games i usually have to wait for 15-30 days before they optimize it, on top of that i had long term performance issues with some games, for example helldivers 2 crash and exit due to driver issue lasted for 3-4 months until they finally fixed it. Then there is the weaker fsr, ray tracing, and worse performance on UE5 games which is used by most new games. All in all i'd love to switch to AMD, previously got HD4850 and HD7950 gpu as well, but reality is i generally got less value when paying the same price as a nvidia card.
It really sucks they only incentivize the 5090, they don’t really like generational leaps over their previous flagships. Kinda like how the 3070 matched the 2080ti and then everything above that was a big upgrade. Now it’s “buy the 5090 or just have 4090 performance but with a 50 in front of it”
Beside Gen 5 switch over is going to be huge because then you can use half the lanes and use the other two lanes which are shared on the CPU with your SSD which you cannot do right now
Nvidia need to do 4 versions of each card. 5090, 5090ti, 5090 super and 5090ti super and either increase the speed of each card or increase the vram if they can.
In Romania (Europe) we already pay the price of 5090 for 4090 :) Due to taxes an other shits, the oficial MSRP of 1599$ does somewhere around ~2200-3000$ So if 5090 will have an official MSRP of 2000$, we'll pay probably 3000-4000$ for it

670e should handle the 9800X3D just fine. I'm running a B650 board and received bios updates specific to the 9000 series back in August. I think later boards give you pcie 5.0 but it's debatable whether there are any advantages at this point.
4k ray tracing without compromise, except its upscaled, and has horrible frame pacing and latency due to frame generation, i wouldnt call this "without compromise" lmao
you can, even with pcie gen 3 but lets see whats the difference between gen 4 and gen 5 first; most predict it to be a slight improvement so i wouldnt worry not being able to use the latest gen of pcie lane.
Problem at the moment is game companies making games for the 4090's and 5090's of this world while anyone playing with anything less will suffer with poor optimisations

I currently use a 1080p 240Hz monitor at 144Hz (to maybe keep gaming smoother), seeing as the 9900K supposedly bottlenecks the 3080 by 20%. I went with an all white high end build with the gigabyte aero oc 4090/ 7800x3d/ 64 gigs of ddr5 ram in originally the phanteks nv7 but switched to the lian li o11 vision. I am using signalrgb to switch the rgb. I paid off the original pc each month until it was paid off in 9 months then with every big purchase after I paid it off every until it was paid off.
@MrAnimescrazy I don't think you realise how insane you sound, if you need to use a payment plan to buy a single PC component, the industry is fucked
@@PulseAttack I don't need to, not even close. I like it because it gives me peace of mind, the retailer will no doubt provide MUCH better customer service if the card malfunctions/dies while on the payment plan
It just makes it convenient and easier for most people. I will always use 0 % financing, I get to keep more of my money longer while helping my credit score. I ran the numbers and this plan costs me $1 more than if I paid cash.
If there was interest like on a credit card then you are 100% absolutely correct.
Looking Forward to Look People Looking Forward On Their 5090
Needs to be physically smaller than 40 series AND no flipping power connector issues this time!
Would a 5080 work fine on pcie 4? Or would I have to get a new motherboard
You should be fine.
The most insane thing about unofficial specs and performance estimates is -- believing them.
That 5080 looks more like a 70 class card, Jenson strikes again
Somehow I have a suspicion that power connector won't be the only thing melting with these cards.
Where would you go from a 3080 ti?
I’d say if the new cards offer greater performance compared to the 40 series then buying the new 50 series cards makes sense if the price is right and stock is plentiful
I to have a 3080ti and wondering about upgrading
What is your budget?
@@elcompask4te835 5080 but if they release 24gb version
As a mechanical engineer, I would be looking to get a RTX 5080 for my primary workstation and a 5070Ti for my secondary workstation. I may consider a RTX 4080 Super for my secondary system if there are significant discounts on it once the RTX 5080 launches here in Canada.
wish we had leaks of strix or other models of the 5090 terms of appearance so us building new PCs can start targeting the right color schemes. Feel like I need to return this hyte y70 blueberry tower seeing this green theme for the 5090s lol
If anybody is upgrading to a 4090 and has something like a 2080, I would love it 😆
I am waiting for the heat pump version of the 5090. I can heat my home and enjoy some gaming at the same time. Of course food and clothes are out of the questions.
I just received my rtx 4090(i bought 2.)
2 generation old cards will be the best option for most of us
"Don't like it, don't buy it" doesn't really help when there's people selling off all their possessions or just people with a decent job buying up the over-priced cards, showing NVIDIA there's people willing to pay.
I'm really disappointed in the 5080 so far.
We simply don't know the final specs yet. But there's a rumour that the 5080 is 10% faster than a 4090.
@Safetytrousers Even with the next-generation graphics architecture, a Gpu with 40% fewer cores has no chance against RTX 4090
Why? The card isn't even out yet.
I suspect Nvidia is going to say the 5090 is more akin to a Titan card now, and that's why it's so expensive. But then why make the 5080 only a marginal upgrade from the 4080?
I love how people complain about the price but they'll still buy these.
few reason - they hate amd, they dont like amd, they dont want to try amd, they will buy nvidia only not amd.
All in all i'd love to switch to AMD, previously got HD4850 and HD7950 gpu as well, but reality is i generally got less value when paying the same price as a nvidia card.
display port 2.1 still have DSC to use... because 4k 240hz hdr needs 84gb per second.
It really sucks they only incentivize the 5090, they don’t really like generational leaps over their previous flagships. Kinda like how the 3070 matched the 2080ti and then everything above that was a big upgrade. Now it’s “buy the 5090 or just have 4090 performance but with a 50 in front of it”
I'll stick to 4070ti and 1440p thanks :)
Based
not worth upgrading in a single generation unless you just got money to blow
@mikeramos91 Well I'm 40 so I could but I prefer to hold onto my money so nah lol
same, I'm gonna upgrade to 6070ti
I have 3080 and 3440 monitor and 130 games, all on max settings, some games with dlls on for 20fps boost but i can all my games on max settings.
Very happy with my 7800X3D/4080 setup. I’m skipping the 50 series, will likely upgrade when 60 series comes along.
Beside Gen 5 switch over is going to be huge because then you can use half the lanes and use the other two lanes which are shared on the CPU with your SSD which you cannot do right now
real winners are 3090 users.
True
Using a 3090TI I’m glad winter is coming so it’s actually bearable to game 😂
@@sneakymemes573same as 7900xtx😂
Nvidia need to do 4 versions of each card. 5090, 5090ti, 5090 super and 5090ti super and either increase the speed of each card or increase the vram if they can.
In Romania (Europe) we already pay the price of 5090 for 4090 :) Due to taxes an other shits, the oficial MSRP of 1599$ does somewhere around ~2200-3000$
So if 5090 will have an official MSRP of 2000$, we'll pay probably 3000-4000$ for it
The 5090 will be crazy!
Bloody hell! You could fit an ITX case in that 4090. Its massive!
$2,500 is just ridiculous.
My assumption is the people buying these can’t actually afford them and finance them via credit cards etc. I just don’t see how a rational person spends that much on a single component for the purposes of gaming.
5090 + 9800X3D ..... can't wait! 🤩
I'm currently on 4090. I'll probably get 5090 once the price stabilizes. Unfortunately as aviotation enthusiast I will need the power for MFS 2024... 4090 is awesome for MFS 2020
All the power with a handful of games that are any good over the next few years...
Do i need to upgrade my motherboard when the 9800x3d releases? Im planning to get that alongside with a 5080, i currently have msi x670e. Saw the x870 motherboards out, so just wondering if I would need to get that, or if I can stick to what i have now
670e should handle the 9800X3D just fine.
Do they come with power generators?
By the time they make the 6090s we’ll be looking at about 3 grand of one of them or even more
Could I use RTX 5080 with PCIE 4.0 Motherboard like B650 Tomahawk ?
you can, even with pcie gen 3 but lets see whats the difference between gen 4 and gen 5 first; most predict it to be a slight improvement so i wouldnt worry not being able to use the latest gen of pcie lane.
Problem at the moment is game companies making games for the 4090's and 5090's of this world while anyone playing with anything less will suffer with poor optimisations
Crazy how they will discontinue a better card than the second best new card
So help me out..I’m due for an upgrade (1080ti). Should I go for 4080 super instead? Maybe grab the 5080 super ti in two years? Haha.
mabe by the time the 5090 comes out ill be actually buying 1. i will not pay double the price for like 10% more performance. right now my 3080 is still killing it in 2024
Maybe this is the time that nvidia should bring back that thing for double gpu power
Buying a 3000$ gpu for just gaming is
Massive BS
Rumor is that there’s another 5080 variant coming with 24GB VRAM. I might get that or wait for the 5080super. I have a 7900xtx and looking to upgrade next yr.
I have a 7900 XT and mines runs fine at 1440, are you playing at 4k?
Wasn't the 7900xtx enough? In the market, and the pricing of an 7900xtx seems about right with the current discounts
I'm just looking forward to upgrading from a 9900K with RTX 3080 to something like a 7800X3D and eventually better graphics card. When you get to my age, you worry if it's your old brain that's slowing you down or the PC hardware, and of course it's probably both. I currently use a 1080p 240Hz monitor at 144Hz (to maybe keep gaming smoother), seeing as the 9900K supposedly bottlenecks the 3080 by 20%. At this age, a physically larger monitor would probably help too, so I get a better look at the enemy before they shoot me. A lighter gaming mouse is welcome too.
Get a 34 inch ultrawide oled as well. you'll be able to see so much clearer you'll think you were 10 years younger. Mostly the resolution change and the oled, but the ultrawide is really nice too I would never go back
That will be a huge upgrade.
im going for the 5090 but im gonna wait to see how they run
refurbished 3080 is 550 on newegg. Insane a 5080 will be 3x that when the 3080 already hits 4k at 60 fps or 2k at 120 fps.
my man, I wanted to ask this for a while now, i don't know if anyone else asked before, but did you peel the protective film from the logo neon sign on the wall behind you? it should not reflect light like that
Can’t wait to buy the 5090 for gaming
I take it classical computing technology is starting to plateau until we discover room temp superconductors or something?
Scalpers are drooling
I’ll be holding off until the 6090 comes out.
