If I were someone that uses the Evercade ecosystem exclusively; then yes. Heck; this makes those recent bartop Capcom arcade releases that much more appealing. However, Neo geo games in general are legit available on just about everything.
Yeah, and I must admit I rarely find myself playing them on anything. I do like a game of Super Sidekicks 2, and I'll load up Metal Slug or its sequels every now and then. I did enjoy Real Bout Fatal Fury on the Neo Geo Mini, but apart from that, there's not much that leaps out at me. I appreciate SNK fans are REALLY fanatical about the games so they'll have a great many more favourites, but it was a very special niche in the 90s that never really went that much further into the mainstream. But like you say, if there's anyone out there who exclusively uses Evercade (and I've never met that person), it's a shoe-in.
It's hardly a bad thing, but i have all their games on steam, mvsx, arcade pro and the whole kof series on aes that i got during high school. They aren't hard games to find legit at good prices, but ALL of them worth getting.
@@dpc4548 Wow - nice to have those! Yeah, at this stage Evercade seems to be for people who would buy these games on anything… nobody *only* has Evercade. But still, the Neo Geo Mini has pretty fuzzy video so I’d probably spend £20 or so for my faves on Alpha.
@@CatGoneCrazy Frankly, I'm just happy people still love these games as much as I do and that SNK are still going strong! Can't wait for the new Garou! Play these games anywhere you can or want, I say.
I haven't followed this too closely other than the teaser. If it's cartridges that will come about from this great. If it's games that are exclusive to alpha, super pocket, and exp variants due to whatever limited licensing there is, then no thanks, i'm good.
Not the Sega we wished for, 😢 but SNK is still great as long as its cart collections and not more hardware (like the Capcom deal). Having SNK could also help pull others like Sega, Konami, and more in.
@@MisterRobbie Yeah, it’s definitely a good thing, no question. But I am surprised Sega didn’t reply to me email to say ‘not us’. Ah well, Fingers crossed for carts, yep! Though we all know it’ll be a KoF-branded Alpha first :)
@@realnews7799 Is it famously hard to emulate Batsugan? I’m not into the emulation scene, I prefer real hardware and real carts. Doesn’t feel right otherwise.
I don’t know what it is about evercade but I’m just not into it. It lacks any sort of personality and just feels like one of those knock off consoles you’d get down the market in the 90s. I’d rather buy retro consoles and games than an evercade.
@@grveyardshft You know what? I felt exactly the same when I got the OG handheld. But the EXP and definitely the Alpha have changed that. It’s starting to become something more than it was. Indie titles running natively, bigger names in the cartridges and free games too. It’s all good and getting better.
Thats good but the consoles are hard to get hold of they need to put them in Asdas and Tescos, get thereselfs out there more like the NES. Back in the day i picked up a NES upstairs in a Boots store when they used to do electricals. Shops just ain't what they was in this country anymore, not everyone likes online for a good couple of reasons.
@@andromedaone3640 Yeah, I first played Mega Drive Sonic in Boots the Chemist haha :) Also WH Smith stocked Sega games, all the formats. Woolworths too. We didn’t know how good we had it :(
I don't like fighting games or space shooters which seems to be 95% or their catalogue. I only like neo turf masters and metal slug and a racing game or two.

@@r9delta104 Yeah, I’m not planning on buying a second Alpha, and I don’t want to sell the Street Fighter one so I hope that’s not the new game plan.
I don't want more hardware. Give me those physical games please . If Evercade can run ps1 games, then neo geo will run just fine.
@@crazyoldschool6342 Yep, agreed. Metal Slug collection and Sports collection would be my preference.

@CatGoneCrazy Evercade is the closest thing to it ans still affordable it seems. SF Alpha is also tough so I think it will be fine.
