I WAS going to ask my parents for the Mega Man edition of the Evercade Alpha but they feel £250 is too expensive. Luckily, shortly after the Alpha’s announcement, a plug & play Spectrum was announced for only £90 so I asked them for, and got, that! I may still get an Evercade Alpha someday, playing Double Dragon 2 on it via the Technōs Arcade cart would be the stuff of dreams!
Glad you enjoyed Data East Arcade 2 a bit more :-) Yes, most of those games play much better with a joystick, even the older ones. It's a good finish for 2024 by Blaze and looking forward to what 2025 brings with the SNK announcement being a great start. Keep up the awesome work!
I think it’s a rather terrible finish. Super pockets still have limited availability, pre orders not fulfilled. An EXP-R launch that was delayed by months and when it did release it has done with a whole bunch of issues that affected the previous iteration from the beginning. I love what they are doing in general with the cart based library but the quality of build and design falls far too short for serious retro collectors. It’s a shame as what they are doing with many of the carts is providing a legal means to acquire and play rarer games that are not all available on the major console platforms.
Fun tip to make the Alpha image bigger. If you don't mind using a pad, grab a Helix A4 Magnifying Sheet and place it vertically behind the back 3 main arcade buttons and let the top of the sheet rest on the marquee. It will make the screen look around 10-12 inches. No need for scanlines using it as the magnifying circular pattern on the sheet does a very similar thing.
With all those Games in TATE mode ... we need absolutely a Evercade Alpha + or Omega (or choose a new name) with a turnable screen like on the Egret mini .. or at least a Tate Evercade Alpha+/Omega/whatever name you want
I wanted Data East 2, but missed out on the pre-order and it seems to be sold out everywhere now so I guess that I'll just have to wait until they restock it...
The only carts shown in this video that are not out yet release in a few days on December 12th…not sure where you’re ordering from if they’re not being delivered until Feb 2025. The video is also not a waste of time as it’s acting as a last minute buyers guide for new Alpha owners. Have a nice day.
Funstock is my go to for Evercade carts but all ive got delivered so far is life on mars/ metal dragon I've re ordered toaplan 4 from Argos but hasn't arrived, and can't find data east 2 or toaplan 3 anywhere..... Like you say ill order if and when funstock re stock
Great video as ever! The vertical games look amazing on the Alpha.
Truxtonn has been an amazing game. I've found floating around towards the bottom of the screen really lets you get more shots into the worse enemies.

@Stephen-2097 Yes I agree that Blaze have monumentally failed with pre-orders but the last four carts are a good finish with respect to quality :-)

@@oliviercrenier3184 I do wonder if they'll look at doing this for next year..
Looks a bit small displaying the tate mode games.

Songbird has it
Looks like there is more than enough screen size there for the horizontal shooters? Add bezels to the sides if desired. But looks good.
Pre ordered and ordered all 4. are they worth it ? As the Turtles would say Shell Yeah.
🙄
🙏🏼👏
This is ridiculous - some of these carts are not being delivered until mid end of feb 2025. Life on Mars is not even released - waste of time.

Many folks already have these? Where are you ordering from?
@@PeteDorrdon’t think I said the video was a waste of time?
Amazon are showing Jan/Feb dates, but Funstock is the place to go, but they run out of stock very quick.
