Just a self-employment tip: I’ve been self-employed for 20 years and I’ve found that taking a week or 2 off once every quarter (every 3 months), saves me from burnout/“languishing”
Such a great idea! Thanks! I heard someone else mention this recently. I'm going to consider this. It would be nice to plan a little trip or a staycation at the end of every quarter.
You manifested and worked hard for where you are now, Amanda! I’m a new subie and I’ve been binge watching you and I’m currently almost done with my notary class. So ready for this new successful career for me!
i usually never comment on anything but literally i passed my notary commission and will soon start my journey and you’ve really inspired me, i live in georgia and hopefully i can make good money and quit working a job that doesn’t care about me what so ever :)
Congrats on passing!! In Georgia I think you need to market to lawyer’s and title. Just a heads up for after studying loan signing :) I’m excited for you to find a better way to make a living instead of being complacent in a toxic environment. 🥳
@@amandapluma that’s probably the only thing i’m stressing. I’m already trying to search how to market myself in georgia but maybe after i take marks class it will help i’m hopinggg :)
Hey girl! Welcome back to UA-cam! As silly as it sounds, you are one of the rare few UA-camrs I throughly enjoy watching. You keep it real and this video is something I needed right now. Keep up the great work and can’t wait to see what’s next for you!
Hey Amanda! Thanks for your continued transparency. I’m a LSA in Los Angeles as well. I’ve been a notary since 2019. I also have two children and a property management job. I totally understand how juggling so much can burn you out. The moment I stopped feeling guilty about taking time for myself and just started going with the flow that’s when things really started making sense for me and being less stressful for me. You have to listen to your body and know when it’s time to sit down. And when your body is ready to get back up and hustle you’ll know. Thank you for all of your guidance and advice on this channel!Thank you for this video and I’m wishing you much much success. I feel like no matter what youre talk about on this channel you build a solid enough group of people that they’ll stick with you as your channel continues to evolve. Side note: Sayifa Martin is the LSA and UA-camr Smanda was speaking of when she talked about someone unfortunately stealing her course material and using it as their. You guys should get out also. 🙏🏿✨❤️
The step by step way to apply per state is on the NNA site, comes with a checklist and everything per state for notary and loan signing. Additional stuff can be found on UA-cam and if someone can’t find out additional stuff out through there, there are groups and also courses or mentorship. I have a lot of notes just off different UA-camrs alone. Plenty of people recommend what signing services they use, pros/cons and different sites of different lists of additional signing services. At the end of the day it’s a business and if someone can’t do the research for their business and put in work then they’ll have to pay someone for it🤷🏽♀️
Downtown Chicago has tons of stuff to do. Art museum, these three are all in the same area: Field Museum, Shedd's Aquarium, the planetarium. Check out the Jewish deli. DON'T go to Navy Pier- it's a tourist trap and my cousin was holding her baby and some guy tried to snatch her purse he didn't get away with it.
I completely understand about your comments regarding how new notaries want info just handed to them. I see that all the time in fb groups too. That annoys me as well bc I have done all my own research and financially invested in my trainings. I'm a new notary and quickly getting very discouraged due to the saturation. BUT I'm not giving up just yet, so I do really appreciate your content very much. Thank you! 😊
Yes I see it there all the time. It’s ok to ask questions but when it’s obvious that you didn’t do the research before asking it’s inconsiderate. What you said is the type of mentality that’s going to help you succeed. I can totally see the saturation now. Make sure to call these signing services. Give them a voice to a name. :)
I just found you - and OMG! I feel the same way! I am a new LSA and have good / bad days as far as this endeavor goes. I appreciate you keeping it real so that it doesn't feel like I'm alone. Amanda!!!! Girl I feel the same !! I love doing Loan Signing especially in La areas but deep down inside I have a burning desire for something else involving social media.
When you're not doing signings put your time into social media. The good thing about this work is that you don't have to put your dreams on the sideline. :)
I absolutely love your content! I am looking forward to starting this journey and it has been so helpful that you are in my state as well! I was wondering if you could do a video on the things you needed to buy separately for your business ex: health insurance, retirement, how you save for your taxes etc. Keep it up girl!!
How do you professionally express your personal need to take a break to the companies when the call and ask you to work? Like respectfully decline..and do they hold grudges against notaries when they turn down jobs by not offering future jobs?
HeyGirl! same! Asking questions about stuff you’ve already posted. Don’t want to pay for mentoring. Who the heck is selling courses? Yay! To the fitness routine. Sucks to lose that client 😞
I’m sorry your going through that….you have been really helpful and informative on becoming a Notary. I love your videos and yes you always help with general questions on DMs
Hello! So I’m a real estate agent and I just became a loan signing agent Lawyers Title only brings you on if you get fidelity approved first. They sent me the fidelity application and I have to send it back to them once completed. Would this mean I’m fidelity approved if accepted or am I just fidelity approved with Lawyers Title? Just found your channel and love your content ❤
Hey Amanda! I wanted to let you know that I jumped in. A while ago I asked what it was like driving so much. I thought driving was something I was going to hate, but come to find out I actually don’t mind it. Thank you for sharing your journey as a LSA!
lol I feel the same way. Some days get to me. but that's if I'm in crazy traffic. Most of the time if you have a great playlist/ podcast you don't even think about it haha I'm glad you decided to take this journey :)
Amanda Pluma you’re right about the playlist! Also, I know it can get old with people asking for help on how to get started when all the info is out there. Just know there are others (like myself) who take what you put out and start running with the info 🙂 so thank you!
I too have these issues currently going on with my escrow/title contacts. It was explained to me that these big title companies don’t want to have to 1099 many many individuals. They’d rather 1099 the agencies. Which they take a cut of my pay. So if you you have them start making pymts to your company name rather than you personal name, do you have to register that company name with a DBA and fictitious business name etc? and set up new checking accounts etc
Getting Fidelity approved is tough. I’ve been trying for 2 years. Their approvals are like unicorns. They hardly approve since they bought their signing service.
Funny - “we don’t even look alike”….I too am getting push back from my FNT contacts. I think it has to do with them not wanting to 1099 a whole bunch of individuals. But as we know, getting work thru a middle man is less lucrative. I too, feeling disrespected.
Thank you for always being so transparent! Your videos & Tik Toks have literally inspired me to finally put my notary commission to better use! I’m still working full time but do you think I’d be able to do this while working? I still need income from my job currently, but I’m ready to take steps towards freedom lol
Hey Amanda! Glad to see you again. Super appreciate your posts and your honesty. Just wanted to let you know I'm very interested in getting Fidelity Approved, I've tried once before but halted because I too found it confusing. If you became approved, I would love to hear about it and how you felt about it, tips, and what it's brought to you. I don't think there's much info out there so if you did, the community and myself would thank you.
Thank you so much for your videos. I've been watching so much. If I may ask, how has the war affected business if at all? I'm a truck driver and it's making things very difficult.
@@amandapluma that's really a relief to read. Thank you, so much. Whenever is best for you is be interested in mentorship from you. I understand you're very busy, so I understand if you're booked out. It is something I'm interested in though. I would be doing loan signing in Georgia.

From your experience… If I got an AA in Real Estate or Parallel would I be able to get hired faster as a LSA? Open more doors? I don’t want to totally give up after I spent so much money on my start up.
Thanks Kelly :) it takes a bit but I would still respond to signing services if you get their texts. Try to take a signing in the evening if you don't have a class at night. Mm it really depends. You can say that whenever you market yourself to direct clients. It'll help but I'm not sure how much. Keep pushing. It's hard when you first start, but I believe in you :)
You went straight to direct signings because you have family in the industry. The reality of starting from scratch as a LSA is different when you don’t have preexisting relationships. I’m sorry to say but I feel like I got a false impression from your videos. December, January, February and March have been so slow (I also live in east LA) that unless you immediately accept a signing within 10secs someone else will.
lol not true. My family works in south OC and have given me a total of 1 signing, only a grant deed. My family friend did not start giving me signings until a few months after I went direct. She gives me signings sparingly but has offered me more since I told her about this Fidelity problem. I went direct because I believed in the skills that I learned and practiced. You can't project your fear on me because of the ever-changing flow of this market. It's slow because you're only relying on signings services. You can get out there and do general notary work too. My hard work will not be invalidated bc of your assumptions on my background.
