I was 14 and owned one of the first Banshee in 1987. The Banshee was not only my first quad but my first 2 stroke machine. When they delivered the Banshee to my house, the guy asked if I wanted him to adjust the throttle. I remember this like it was yesterday! So beside my house was a blacktop road. As soon as I hit the throttle I understood why the guy wanted to adjust the throttle... Needless to say I'm still alive today lol. The Banshee was the fastest production quad back then until the 500 Quad Racer came out. They were fairly rare to see though so my only real comp was that damn ATC 250R 3 wheeler. Mike - not sure if you've rebuilt one of those yet but that might be a lot of fun to build. Don't ride it though!! Great Video's sir!

What jetting did you use for the predator 560? I have an 04 predator with a 586 or 560 big bore I don’t know which. There’s not much that’s stock in the motor.
I recently got some work done to my quad now I'm into the jetting but not really sure where to start TBH if could get some advice It would be truly appreciated
I’m 33 . My dad owned one when I was a baby. Wish we had pictures but we had one that was my dad and I coming over the top of a chat pile in Pithcer Oklahoma when I was 2-3. We was doing a wheelie over the top and I was smiling ear to ear. Plus we used to load up on it my dad mom and I and go ridding the back roads from our house to go swim miles away from home. Hell I even had the electric Suzuki 500 to match for me as a kid. Loved these quads. Brings back great memories.
I don't even own a Quadzilla or bike anymore, and I wanna get that Carburetor just because it's such a deal. Seriously though, nice job on the Zilla Mike, and thanks for showcasing the building process. It's a great way to get people into the hobby, and gives em the confidence to buy and work on their stuff. All the QuadZilla is missing is a full Laeger's treatment, Fox/Ekla/Axis up front and rear, and a signature "'Dr. Q'' Pipe!
Awesome rebuild! I was in love with these as a 14 year old kid in '87. I would sit and watch them race on TV anytime they were on. What an animal.. The Quadzilla!!
Super sick quad! Loved seeing you work on it and ride around, I’ve never even really got the chance to see one in person so seeing your reaction was definitely awesome keep up the great videos!
wow it came out phreaking awesome as always , you do the bet ATV videos on UA-cam or anywhere I've seen. My Quadzilla broke my shin when it kicked back once and i was stuck in the desert with my buddies all weekend .Couldn't even get my boot off all weekend . I been a fan for awhile and you have got me searching for another project. Keep up the awesome video bro.
To see clutch dumps and actual riding on the 500, watch this 🤘 - ua-cam.com/video/1cOmDKIRL9k/v-deo.html I want to make note that while I showcase the knock off PWK carb in this video, I don't necessarily recommend it. While they look and feel great, small tolerances and internal orphancies can make a carburetor run weird or even just differently than genuine. I've personally run these with success and then also with bad results so it's a risk and with a 2 stroke, it may not be worth it if you're not decent at jetting. On the other hand, you may see me using unbranded FCR style carburetors on my 4 stroke builds; these have had consistent good results in my cases and I do recommend them. This could be a result of the FCR style carbs being in the 150$ range whereas the PWK was only 30$. My official recommendation is to always go genuine if possible.
Turned out pretty nice, and it's Def a Lil rich on the jetting Michael, but that's OK on the fresh engine until a bit of time has been put on her.I worked for one of the larger Suzuki dealers in southern Illinois back in the eighties up until early 90's as the lead technician and eventually service manager. We sold a heap of 250 and 500 quads and the first batch of quadzillas had a few issues as I remember. The crankshaft to rotor taper was wrong and they would shear off the flywheel keys resulting in the rotor inertia welding itself to the crankshaft, lol.pretty sure our Suzuki service rep told us that I mighta been the first person in the U.S. to do a crankshaft and rotor replacement on the venerable LT-500R.Keep up the awesome builds,I enjoy watching these old 2 stroke quad builds as it brings back some good memories working on all of those older bikes and quads.
Awsome rebuild on the zilla Mike, you do a hell of a job, dont matter if you re-use parts or go all out on a full rebuild, you do a sick job. Very clean! Love your atention to detail, always do a very good job. 👌👌👌👌👌👌🔥🔥
Mike Philly Sabo rocks! I'm a Yamaha & Suzuki quad guy so this has me excited to the core. Suzuki ask kills it when they build machines. Yamaha!? Well they the king of sport quad I believe sales wise (total #s sold etc).
Haha I was thinking the same and about the CF hood too, that blue seat and hood are hallmarks of the Zilla, but I also agree with the assessment of the badassery tho
Really fun quadzilla. You have lucky to find parts for that "old" bike. In Portugal it's impossible to that project. I own a Honda trx400 2001 and even for find parts I need to buy in Spain. So keep Tha good work. I really enjoy watching your project and learn 👍

I totally enjoyed watching you remove the axle , change that tire and put on the new levers 👍 Awsome to learn new stuff , and appreciate the camera work , Awesome 👍 I never got a chance to ride a QuadZilla either , so it was cool watching you ride around on it . Look forward to when you take it to the Dunes!!! Again , Great video 😊
I have the same bead breaker, thing works great. Even does car tires. One tip is to fully weld all the peices of the breaker that bolt together. It makes it much more rigid and works a little easier.
Worked with tires for a few years if you have one ever have trouble with one add a little air itll keep the side wall buldged so it doesn't roll over on itself
I have mixed feeling about it; I did put genuine jets and needle in it but I definitely agree that very small tolerance inconsistencies can make major difference in carb functionality. I will say that the quality of these seems to have improved over the years; some of the older knock offs were literally made for the trashcan 😂
I had an 88 Lt 500 and it was a total thrill to ride for it’s time. I enjoyed the video man thanks for the great content. Don’t screw up my teddy bear towel any more than you already did.
Mike I used to check semi truck tires when you go to break the bead before you use your machine after you let out the air take a gallon of water add about half a cup of dawn dish soap and spray water on the bead on the side your removing and break the bead. And when your using your spoons you can add the dawn dish soap water on the bead and that shit will come out like butter ! Trust me
Nice build!! I use those knock off carbs with no problems at all!! Jetting is different on them If you know how to jet you will have no problems and you do so you'll be fine. The zilla has power but not what you think. they are over hyped but still a classic and still fast but no banshee or 250r. Wish I could send some pics of the one I rebuilt it was a bad ass machine. Have fun with it.
Harbor freight also has a manual small tire changer that has a bead breaker on it too. They seem to work well, I even know a few people that do full size tires with them just fine.
