Snapped my humerus riding my dirtbike on Sunday, still in the hospital just got 70 staples. Been eagerly waiting this video you guys really lift my spirits. Especially Leo and sous
Doug grew up just down the road from me in the early 2000’s he and I used to drag race in his field behind his house, his banshee was yellow and red then I had a YFZ 450 pretty cool watching there channel and bringing back some old quads!
No he still has the same banshee it is the one he rebuilt previously on a recent video. He changed the color scheme. Back then it never ran on alcohol, lol!
Yeah the trx450r is definitely having a fuel delivery issue. Also might as well tighten up the valves cause who knows how long ago they were last adjusted.
I havnt watched this yet but my money is on the scrambler 100%. Before I even watched the other video I said someone was gonna have a scrambler! Those are the best quads. Utility 4x4 and racing fast!! I had the same one. 400 2 stroke and it’s fast for being stock and the 4x4 comes In handy. The scrambler has always been my favorite four wheeler and now I own a scrambler 1000! And they still are one of the atvs to ever come out:
I like how Leo lets out of the throttle on the roll races when he sees Sous catching him, that way he can say he won. A little carb tuning and that Susucki has no chance
Them 450r Hondas we’re pretty damn good units. yes Mike is correct with a pipe and open box it’s around a +/- 190 main at sea level also probably should go ahead and go one size up on the pilot jet adjust fuel mixture in.Then adjust AP timing to minimize the bog when you punch it. -carb wizard. Also the vacuum plate gasket on the slide can cause a lot of weird running issues. It’s about 100 bucks
I've had a lot of machines and riden many others, but my old 1986 lt250r was a great quad. Suzuki changed the atv market around the world with that machine, at least till the trx 250r hit the market. 450r's are alive and well at race tracks yet today.
In my opinion Matt got the best quad I had a Suzuki quadrunner as my first quad when I was a kid and 25 years later still starts and runs like it did then.
love vintage quads! these r 2 of my favs, i have an 85 quadrunner with the kenda fronts leo has n the carlisle strykers steve has n they refuse to wear out!
The quad content is awesome that 450 is mad sounds like strait muscle 250 sounds bad ass boost. An fkn Leo is funny as hell if that was Me I would have tackled him good oll smack down
Chris green: glad I could make it run *after an entire video of it not running properly. I say in good natured fun because I'm in the middle of rebuilding a carb for my zuke and I know it is going to run like crap, if at all. Chris...come to Wisconsin lol
As far as the merch. Would love to buy some. But lately im buying baby clothes. You should think about it. My son wears his fresh unit outfit every time its clean. Thanks guys for the content. Always great
I had an lt250r and sold it for 300 dollars because I was dumb and was afraid to put a new piston in it. I didn't know how simple they were when I was young.
On that 2-stroke you're going to need to replace the seals for the crank/water pump and spray weld and refinish where the seals seat on the crank our you're going to have a bad time.
I had the 500 quadzilla with a 30 shot and ported and polished by Trinity racing with 7 inch extended, swingarm set up for sand drags. It was a beast back in the day…. Lol
That would be a beast still today! It's still in stock form one of the fastest production quads ever made and only beat out by some monster 1000cc quads built decades later. I had a 87 lt250r quadracer that was mildly built and could beat a stock banchee barely. I can't imagine what a 500 with a 30 shot feels like. Those old 2 strokes were just a completely different experience to ride vs the 4 strokes. Hell I bought mine off a guy that bought it and only rode it twice before selling it because it scared him too much to ride it again lol.
A sometimes successful quick way to loosen some garbage in a carburetor is to gain access to the front of the carb, rev it up to 4 or 5 k rpm and block the carb with your hand for a second or two but be planning on working the throttle to burn off the excess fuel. Can dislodge trash in your carb. It has actually worked for me many times. I met a guy in the woods riding his old ragged looking ltz, he asked if I wanted to switch for a few laps and of course I was like hel yea bro let's do it...I immediately realized the quad was bogging then it lean popped...I did that trick 4 or 5 times...the last one I really got it up there around 6 or 7 k and immediately slammed my hand on it and off a couple times...it stalled but I smelled fuel and knew i now had fuel flowing...kid was looking at me like I was a wizard after I took off on it and it wasn't running like garbage anymore...he was so happy after riding it he gave me a hug...made a dude feel good that the kid could have fun with his quad...
Got my 04’ 450r stolen and paid on it for two years after. I learned so many lessons. Loved paying for that extended warranty 🙄 and get some insurance next time. Not sure my the bank I got the loan from didn’t require insurance like everyone else. I was young.
Im in Indiana near your elevation and im 180 main jet 45 pilot and dynojet needle in the middle. Having the pipe insert out makes a very lean quad without a jet. Cut the airbox lid around the indentation on it and put it back on don't fully remove it.
Leo the blue bark-buster hand guards look sweet and they definitely help protect your hands. However, the wrap around style on a quad are bad news. Lots of people have broken arms like that, on quads specifically. You loose grip, your arm goes thru, and your along for the ride. On a bike i always run them but on a quad i prefer the single mount floppy ones.
That's funny. I grew up riding dirt bikes in the woods of Maine and always had wrap around hand guards. Finally got a sport quad and for the first time decided not to and got open ones! It's too unpredictable with 4 wheels
Hold slight pressure up on the shifter.. wide open throttle... hold throttle open and just tap the clutch... dont pull the clutch just tap it.. fastest way to shift and know one knows how... try it
The Suzuki wins just out of simplicity. The 91-92 LT 250 was a absolute animal great machines. The 85-86 had different engine than power valve if i remember right. 87-90 was a little different than 91-92 but dont remember what . The quadracer is still a great machine today one day im finding one.
Before I bought my Renegade 500 in 2013, I was strongly considering getting a TRX450R after riding my cousin's for a bit. They are incredibly fast quads and great in the trails, but the 4x4 of the Renegade won me over.
that dvx400 with some spicy upgrades I used to run was fun also 400ex that had hoosier flat track tires was fun back in the day till I cracked my sternum
I put one of the cheap $40 Chinese carbs from Amazon on my 99 trx400 and it works great, I had the same issues with jetting on the oem carb and haven’t had an issue since
You should dig up an old Yamaha Banshee! 350 2 cylinder 2 stroke. With just exhaust it should beat all those quads out there. Plus one of the best sounding as well. I had a stock 03 Banshee and used to race my friends stock 04 Yamaha YFZ which is basically the same as that Honda TRX 450. He would just barely edge me out on a race.
As a kid from the 80's I love ALL the 250r's , Suzuki, Kawi, and of course the holy grail Honda TRX250r.. Banshees and Quadzilla's are totally different Animals! 🤗
Trx 450 factory jet size is 168 if it is a built engine and has an aftermarket exhaust go a couple bigger and set the mixture screw 1.75 out then small adjustments from that
I used to ride a Suzuki 250r quadracer when I was 12.....I used to jump it about 15ft high. I wanted to ride at my local track.....redbud tnt in Buchanan MI My friend had a Suzuki 230 quadsport.
I think once it’s running right, Leo’s not gonna want no smoke
yeah with it running right it will straight up smoke leos 250 lol
leo knows that he just likes getting under his skin
I agree but Leo's will win the sound and smell battle 😂
Congratulations Nick on the twins you will love every minute of being a father. You will be a great father
Thanks brother
Snapped my humerus riding my dirtbike on Sunday, still in the hospital just got 70 staples. Been eagerly waiting this video you guys really lift my spirits. Especially Leo and sous
Bummer man, sorry to hear this. Hope you heal quick! These guys definitely make a hospital stay 110% better
get-well bud
This might've been my favorite video by these guys ever. Nick just laying into Leo was awesome. 🤣🤣🤣
It really was.
Doug grew up just down the road from me in the early 2000’s he and I used to drag race in his field behind his house, his banshee was yellow and red then I had a YFZ 450 pretty cool watching there channel and bringing back some old quads!
Was it a red and yellow 87 Banshee? I bought one back in like 2009 wonder if it was the same one? Picked it up near Kutztown Pa

And if frogs had wings they wouldnt bump thier buts on the ground when they jump, too.
Nothing better or worse than a little friendly competition!!
Yea souned like was running out of fuel .
480 big bore for that 450r these scream I know I have one.
Man you guys are making me miss my old 450!
My 87 lt 250 ported with full race setup "Bills pipes", would smoke that 400 all day!
I had a 450r many years ago. I had the engine rebuilt and it had a cam and some other goodies in it. It was a fun machine
Get that 450 running right and revisit this race lol.
Yeah I have owned both quads and I know if the 450 is running right, that 250 is going down. Great video
I've had a lot of machines and riden many others, but my old 1986 lt250r was a great quad. Suzuki changed the atv market around the world with that machine, at least till the trx 250r hit the market. 450r's are alive and well at race tracks yet today.
Thank you guys for the great content, the awesome shirts, and also the free coozee yall sent with my order lol
Suckers are awesome! Let’s go another awesome video 👌🏽😎
In my opinion Matt got the best quad I had a Suzuki quadrunner as my first quad when I was a kid and 25 years later still starts and runs like it did then.
I've got a 160, any carb tuning tips?
Yessir I love the classic 2 strokes!
That make-shift gunrack gets me every time lol. "tuning forks"
We’ve been waiting and super invested in this series 😂❤
Hands down Leo has the best machine. That 400 is potent its light and they are actually a tough simple machine.
No 400s in this video. That’s a 450ish. Look at the head
@@dustinb2258 I'm talking about the scrambler
Oh my bad. Few too many drinks. Never drink and comment 😉
Your problem on scrambler is counter balancer shaft. You have to send it out to a guy to get it re machined.
Man even sous hates Leo lol
And That’s saying something
Quad content is awesome!!!
I tried to buy a SXS once and then COVID came and changed my budget and then broke my heart. I now watch this channel.......
love vintage quads! these r 2 of my favs, i have an 85 quadrunner with the kenda fronts leo has n the carlisle strykers steve has n they refuse to wear out!
I like how you show my Yamaha first part of the video. Hahaha
My dream as an almost 40 year old man has been to own one of these machines. I 🙏 to God I win! Loving the General.
Nice job on Bogetti podcast. Pretty cool episode.
Awesome quad Matt. Back in the day it was a beast.
I just want to say Nick is funny as hell. I was laughing the whole beginning of the video.
That 2 stroke sound brings back so many memories of the 80s. I can almost smell the fuel.
Fun fact the 400l sport cylinder fits on the old Honda 250r crankcases, with some mods it turns into a monster!
Cool to see this comment, not many people know about the Polandas
The quad content is awesome that 450 is mad sounds like strait muscle 250 sounds bad ass boost. An fkn Leo is funny as hell if that was Me I would have tackled him good oll smack down
I just made an order for an X3 hat and keychains but one of those gear bags would be awesome though lol
Leo, TRX 700XX if you can find 1... Tuned and piped, you can ride all day in comfort...
Chris green: glad I could make it run *after an entire video of it not running properly.
I say in good natured fun because I'm in the middle of rebuilding a carb for my zuke and I know it is going to run like crap, if at all. Chris...come to Wisconsin lol

The "did you know we were racing" had nick just salty
Don't let Doug that Banshee in the mix he'll have em both crying . Lol
glad your playing with quads more!
"No! Give me a minute you stupid idiot!" 😂 Why does it crack me up when sous is dramatic.
Exaust valves were also a big g prob on those era Hondas needed to be adjusted all the time
I can feel the tension from Australia 😅
I had an lt250r and sold it for 300 dollars because I was dumb and was afraid to put a new piston in it. I didn't know how simple they were when I was young.
Gotta love Nick Sous!!! He keeps it real.
always a good day when a cheap quad video comes out
Well that end up being a heck of a good time guys🤘🤘
On that 2-stroke you're going to need to replace the seals for the crank/water pump and spray weld and refinish where the seals seat on the crank our you're going to have a bad time.
Speedi sleeve way easier
Loving the four wheeler content….

Side by quad blog ❤

Amazing what 30 years of suspension innovation can do
Since last video i found a king quad on marketplace with dually wheels flipped out. 😂😂😂
Love the old two stroke fam great video thanks for all the good content fam
You need to do another drag race once the 450 is running right. Would be a good race.
Leo makes that LT look like a blaster
Leo the blue bark-buster hand guards look sweet and they definitely help protect your hands. However, the wrap around style on a quad are bad news. I had a few 230 quadsports shaft driven. Legit mud machines
Sous was not prepared and it was funny

Also had a 02 400ex with a pipe a jetted. Beat the crap out of it for 15 years with no major problems 😊
Always a good day in UA-cam when there’s a SxSblog uploads !
Who’s ready for the cheap Jetski challenge? Doug is already in the lead with the XP.
Let’s go!! Canadians are eligible, I’m in
Makes me miss my 85 250r 3wheeler
"Four strokes suck" Uncle Ron
Nick Sous is the next Runway Model for clothing
my guess is your accelerator pump isn't squirting on the initial hit. That is why you get a bog and then it will clean out.
I had an 85 quad runner 250 things are awesome not to slow either and super low is crazy
Before I bought my Renegade 500 in 2013, I was strongly considering getting a TRX450R after riding my cousin's for a bit. They are incredibly fast quads and great in the trails, but the 4x4 of the Renegade won me over.
Sous with the Blue Steel look 😂
Change the o rings in the carb maybe it will stop leaking gas out the float bowl
Awesome video guys!
that dvx400 with some spicy upgrades I used to run was fun also 400ex that had hoosier flat track tires was fun back in the day till I cracked my sternum
Just got my retro sxs shirt today!
Bring back sport quads!
I'm a Honda guy. But that quad racer is no joke. I got a few trx 89 250rs. Looking to get a cr500 an doing a swap into a newer crf
wasn't sure ... fist ta cuff! seemed a little rocky today
Haven’t watched it yet but the thumbnail is definitely a Honda 450 lol
Let us race you guys .........😮 MICHIGAN BOYZ
Starlink is fantastic!! A bit pricey but it's legit my only option besides hugest net and that's just straight dog shit.
I put one of the cheap $40 Chinese carbs from Amazon on my 99 trx400 and it works great, I had the same issues with jetting on the oem carb and haven’t had an issue since
Should check to see if the valves need to be readjusted on that 450 .
You should dig up an old Yamaha Banshee! 350 2 cylinder 2 stroke. With just exhaust it should beat all those quads out there. Plus one of the best sounding as well. Gotta love new videos
My 450 didn’t like the air filter hack and also hated high octane. I don’t know much about the octane stuff. It just made mine feel a little blah
Trx 450 factory jet size is 168 if it is a built engine and has an aftermarket exhaust go a couple bigger and set the mixture screw 1.75 out then small adjustments from that
If it pops a lot when you come off the throttle your still lean
If it has an aftermarket cam go for like a 178 jet and mixture screw between 1.5 and 1.75 out
Called it. I commented on the last quad video that it was a Quadrunner 250 not a kingquad.
I used to ride a Suzuki 250r quadracer when I was 12.....I used to jump it about 15ft high. I wanted to ride at my local track.....redbud tnt in Buchanan MI
My friend had a Suzuki 230 quadsport.
You should try a fuel injected yfz with a tuner lol
God leo, that was bad... even for you😂😂
