Thats not a "blue head" thats the cylinder. The "head" is on top of the cylinder. If you're going to buy this stuff, at least know what the hell you're talking about.
I have done small jumps ect on these. I'd advise removing the head stay bolt on top of cylinder. Alot of us lt guys do that. I've lost head gaskets from the torque of pumps and jumps. Its the bolt on top that mounts to the frame. Get a a case saver asap also. Have fun guys.
Paddle tires are made to run low air because the lower the psi the less you spin on the sand. Also you should never use do any actual riding on paddle tires anywhere but the dunes especially on paddle tires made more for sand drags, like the ones it has on it.

I usually use a temp gun to tune my two strokes but even doing it by ear breaking up is a lack of fuel and bogging and loading up is too much. If I dont have tools with me I'll usually keep leaning out the mixture screw until it starts to break up like that and then open the screw up 1/4-3/4 turns out...
I really miss having mine! There is never a dull moment owning a quadzilla! Even though half the time you spend trying to start them and fueling them up. You don’t ride a quadzilla...you hang onto to one!
Why is it so hard to start you ask? Becuase its the first 2 stroke you guys have owned that has good compression and isn't clapped. Ya'll are so used to bikes that are way low on compression so you finally get a good bike and you cant start it.

Ok, I watched the rest of the video. Good buy. Definitely built better then the last one. It is running lean. Hints for lean... listen to the rev down ping ping ping... then the high idle also. If I dont rejet mine for winter temps. Mine sounds exactly the same. I also get excited and ride with wrong jets but dont do it long or at all. Warm it up also boys. Just go on (jet r us) website page and order jets for it. Main and pilot jets. Get the ones for 20° thru 60° and keep the set in there. Most likely set for 55° to 90° degrees. Specially looking at it set up for sand. If you respect these bikes do the right thing and spend the 15 dollars on the 2 jets. I do enjoy your videos and keep them coming thanks. Jay.

Open the mixture screw up until that idle drops down and it stops breaking up under wot. I was cringing listening to that thing break up like that. Cold air makes a huge difference. Doubt theres an intake leak but spray a little brake cleaner around the intake boot and see if the rpms fluctuate
Good tip on starting it bring the kicker down slow a couple times until you HEAR the compression and then kick straight down fast I use this on my two stroke 250 and four stroke 450

I rode a CR500 for years. Trick to staring a big bore two stroke is get the compression stroke right to the top, then with all your weight and strength, you kick with all you have. It's best to have a noob friend try to start it until he's completly gassed and can hardly breath when it's super cold but that should not be mentioned to said friend prior ;-)

I think it's the opposite. When it's breaking up like that it's running rich. If they were hitting the throttle and it was bogging (or having that buuuaaa sound when you hit the throttle) that's a lean condition
FYI, when you are about to air up tires and are looking at the side of the cylinder, What you’re looking at is a FACTORY EFFEX thermal temperature sticker so you know the temperature of your cylinder head....

You have to let any water cooled ngine warm up especially in the winter or it will not last long let all the different metals expand to running temp then let it rip and doing that to a fresh revuilt two stroke without heat cycling will make foe a nice cold seize
@Sushi Platter $ 2,200 for a lt500 here in the UK I would say about 5,000 - 7000 pounds if you can get your hands on one liked the plastics on the other one but it wasn't running properly it should of had a lot more power than it had think they was something like 53BHP stock from the factory

I'm sure you've heard it 100 times by now since this is 3 years old but I like to and it's good to freaking mix up some oil and gas and pour it down the spark plug holes before you ever kick it over at least I like to. That way it lubes them up And starts a lot easier

my dad has the 4 stroke version of that except its a honda 450er I mean 4 stroke version because its so powerful back when we didn't know it was upgraded we brought it to honda dealership to get the starter replaced and all that good stuff then when we come back to get it for some reason dude at honda took the engine apart to look at it and saud someone used to race it because it is not stock and we have to pull start it still because honda put the biggest battery they have and it still isn't enough power to start it
previous owner of the old quad probably changed the top end and avoided changing seals in bottom end ....... and chucked it together using old gaskets. every little item helps and a good engineer to do the rebore. that new one looks a lot better compression wise but the throttle is dangerous imo. hate them on a bike ok on a jet ski but even then would prefer a twist grip
Twist throttles on a quad are dangerous, when you turn a corner you hold on to the bars, and makes it easy to twist the throttle and then get thrown off, having a thumb throttle is much better for 4 wheelers.

They put a radiator guard on so they don't have to get a new radiator. Lol and of course ita been ridden in sand. It came with 2 sets of paddles. The 500 and 250's are bad ass machines.

get some simply green and some sos pads and go to town on any of the rusted parts... try the rear brake foot lever for starters, but you will be amazed by how clean and new u can make it look with just some cleaner and sos pad and some good ol elbow grease.... make that baby shine where it can... awesome quad ive always loved the quadzilla... u on the east coast? if ya are we should see how fast ur ltz is compared to my 08 kfx450r, only thing i have on you is factory fuel injection and factory reverse comes in handy all the time... iwonder who would win haha

Don't go jacking with the jets. Look for an air leak (intake, base gasket, etc). You'll learn when it hits you in the wallet.

Yes it will beat a banshee but just barely. 500CC vs 350CC. Id go with the banshee though way more aftermarket parts available.

You have to let any water cooled ngine warm up especially in the winter or it will not last long let all the different metals expand to running temp then let it rip and doing that to a fresh revuilt two stroke without heat cycling will make foe a nice cold seize

@Sushi Platter $ 2,200 for a lt500 here in the UK I would say about 5,000 - 7000 pounds if you can get your hands on one liked the plastics on the other one but it wasn't running properly it should of had a lot more power than it had think they was something like 53BHP stock from the factory

I'm sure you've heard it 100 times by now since this is 3 years old but I like to and it's good to freaking mix up some oil and gas and pour it down the spark plug holes before you ever kick it over at least I like to. That way it lubes them up And starts a lot easier

my dad has the 4 stroke version of that except its a honda 450er I mean 4 stroke version because its so powerful back when we didn't know it was upgraded we brought it to honda dealership to get the starter replaced and all that good stuff then when we come back to get it for some reason dude at honda took the engine apart to look at it and saud someone used to race it because it is not stock and we have to pull start it still because honda put the biggest battery they have and it still isn't enough power to start it
38,50 for the other lt500 the guy that bought it got a good deal here in the UK 5-7 grand if u can find one lol
previous owner of the old quad probably changed the top end and avoided changing seals in bottom end ....... and chucked it together using old gaskets. every little item helps and a good engineer to do the rebore. that new one looks a lot better compression wise but the throttle is dangerous imo. hate them on a bike ok on a jet ski but even then would prefer a twist grip
Twist throttles on a quad are dangerous, when you turn a corner you hold on to the bars, and makes it easy to twist the throttle and then get thrown off, having a thumb throttle is much better for 4 wheelers.
antony sidney youre a fucking idiot. Twist throttles belong on dirt bikes and jet skis thats about it. Obviously youve never rode with a thumb throttle before because its way to easy to whiskey throttle with a twist on a quad

They put a radiator guard on so they don't have to get a new radiator. Lol and of course ita been ridden in sand. It came with 2 sets of paddles. The 500 and 250's are bad ass machines.

Alex-sanddeviL rode? And I have when they came out and throughout the 90’s but buddy has one right now that’s a 7 mill, makes a lot of hp and throws out a lot of r’s but the torque isn’t close to the zilla.
get some simply green and some sos pads and go to town on any of the rusted parts... try the rear brake foot lever for starters, but you will be amazed by how clean and new u can make it look with just some cleaner and sos pad and some good ol elbow grease.... make that baby shine where it can... awesome quad ive always loved the quadzilla... u on the east coast? if ya are we should see how fast ur ltz is compared to my 08 kfx450r, only thing i have on you is factory fuel injection and factory reverse comes in handy all the time... iwonder who would win haha
