  • Ko Uchi Gari is a Judo throwing technique classified as a foot sweep. The term translates to "small inner reap" in English.
In Ko Uchi Gari, the idea is to sweep your opponent's foot from the inside using a quick and precise motion, unbalancing them and creating an opportunity for a throw.
The technique involves placing the sole of your foot against the inside of your opponent's ankle and sweeping it in a reaping motion. Proper timing and off-balancing are crucial for its effectiveness.
    Kenka Yotsu:
Kenka Yotsu refers to a specific stance in Judo where opponents have opposite leading feet. In this case, "Kenka" means opposite, and "Yotsu" means same grip.
For example, if one Judoka has their right foot and right hand forward, and the other has their left foot and left hand forward, they are in a Kenka Yotsu stance.
This stance creates a unique dynamic in terms of gripping strategies and attack opportunities, as the lapel and sleeve grips are on the same side for both players.

Judo is not only a martial art but also a popular competitive sport. Judo matches take place on a mat and involve throwing an opponent onto their back, pinning them for a designated time, or submitting them through joint locks or strangles. Matches are scored based on the control, force, and execution of techniques. Judo's worldwide popularity led to its inclusion in the Olympic Games, where it has been a competitive event since 1964.

Amazing channel! All the explanations feel so dynamic and in motion, in contrast to showing throws from static. I am currently teaching myslelf to move more and attempt different attacks and not Just stiff arm!

Great move. As a suggestion, the fist hand can wrap and punch across, with the elbow close to the armpit or under it. Then execute per your demo. Let me know if it works for you 😊
