@@sharpestdart ive paid 150 for a monstera albo but I won't go over a £100 for a plant now. well thats of 9,30 feb 2022, who know what I might pay next month if I see the list of wish list plants for sale lolol
A Sansevieria RPI could be really cool. I only ever see maybe 4 snake plants that people own, but I've seen some really neat uncommon/rare ones on Etsy and it would be cool to see what else is out there!
I love that you did this list, honestly I don't like having anything even potentially toxic for my cat around (even though he doesn't usually chew on plants, I just sleep better at night there's no chance for anything happening) and peperomia are one of the few houseplants that are non-toxic. And from this list I got the picture that it's actually a very very variable genera and I'd definetely find like 10 or more I'd like to have... So you're the reason I'm looking more into them. I think they would go well with my only houseplant fittonia (I have lots of plants, just not houseplants :) ). So thank you, will add on my "if I come across buy" list. If you ever get a peperomia in your shop like the variegated water melon one, I'd just buy it :D
I was so surprised to see moonlight so high on the list, here in Australia they're pretty easy to find, about the same as the rosso. But it's one of my faves, I adore mine
Yeah I was a bit surprised too especially since I picked one up the other day from my local Woolies (a supermarket chain for any readers who aren't Australian)
Oh really, what state are you guys in, in the ACT, the only peperomias I’ve seen have been in IKEA (it might have been a puteolata, but I’m not entirely sure), even Bunnings had basically nothing.
Oeeeh could you do a rare plant index on Jewel orchids?? :D you will love those. Its not a genus though. More a group of plants with the same characteristics.
This is the first Rare Plant Index where I have seen considerable differences between what is rare for you in the UK vs me in Canada. The obtusifolias are EVERYWHERE both variegated and not. The silvering looking one that looks like a caperata is also super common along with the rosso. A lot of the rest though I had never seen. The rain drop is not common at all here. I don't think I have ever seen it in store actually! Super neat. I love peperomia!
I have a Japanese variation of the caperata pink lady and it's only pink during spring and summer and goes green for the rest of the year! It also has leaves that are thinner and pointer. So beautiful though!
Oh this is so interesting, as a person who collects Peperomia in the Northeast US. My “commons” here are Peperomia pixie lime, obtusifolia, clusiifolia, and caperata... never seen a ferreyrae or dolabriformis anywhere. Thanks for covering peps!
I would LOVE to see a rare plant index on Kalanchoe. There's so much variation in them and they're so pretty. I went down a rabbit hole a couple weeks back on them and I don't think I've even scraped the surface.
Dana Tribbia people in the states are looking for it! I can’t find it anywhere over here and no one in Australia I can find that sells it will ship it to the US 😭😭😭
I've had a peperomia kimnachii for a year or so now and had no idea what it was until this video! It's super weird but easy to care and fills a nice low light spot.
Omg yaaaas. Love these! Hopefully someday we can get a Syngonium plant index 😁 I’m suddenly suuper into those cuties. Thanks for the awesome vids Kaylee Ellen!
Dude there are so, so, so many different orchis species and hybrids it would be difficult to list them. Many if she did one for phals, one for oncidium, and so on
Pep Puteolata is a joy to own. I couldn't get the care right on many others that I tried. Puteolata is pretty easy and a prolific grower. I bought one in a two inch pot with three tiny stems in the spring and by fall it filled a six inch hanging basket.
I’m so happy you made this video! I am a rare plant collector. I cannot find any of the rare ones in the US. I want the rugosa Aussie good so bad. If anyone has rare Peperomia connections let a girl know!!!
I have the "red log" peperomia and she is precious :). Not messy at all. Very tidy. And the scandens leaves feel like silicone.. :). Thank you for this!
Thanks Kaylee Ellen! I love Peperomias and have several of those on your list. It's nice to discover new ones I had never heard of! I fell hard for Peperomia antoniana, that one is now on my list thanks to you!
Peperomia is my favourite. Caperata has many colours and patterns that are so fun to collect. ( I really don't like aroids and can't understand the fuss.)
Peperomia are some of my absolute favorites! I have so many. That trinervis bicolor looks so much like the terrestrial orchid Goodyera pubescens. I am not done with the video but I have owned the pink caperata and although it was stunning, you may want to look into peperomia griseo-argentea 'pink lady', it still has the pink but also a nice cream, silver and mint mottled variegation as well and the leaves are ruffled. I love the caperata but the griseo-argentea just has it all going on. If you like the rugosa, check out peperomia harmony's great pumpkin. And I am unsure if the moonlight is the same as peperomia 'frost' but they look very similar, super icy.
I am rewatching this while making my updated wish list and I have to say, I kinda love peperomia? Am I crazy? I love my aeroids but these are really cute.
Drunken Homemaker sadly they usually dont look like that the ones i see for sale only have pink specs all over it nothing as extreme as the picture in the video
I'm in Australia, and I can't remember seeing the first two common peperomias. The raindrop is also not easily available at the moment. You can find it, but it's not everywhere and definitely not in Ikea. Scandens is available and the Argyreia (so cute, love these), Obtusifolia, clusiifolia (got one and I agree, it doesn't make me happy either!) are all available. Rosso is available (I kill these and they're very pretty). I've not seen the Maculosa or the Vericilatta. It's so interesting how different plants are common in different places.
I have 9 peperomia and will have many many more but the clusiifolia is not one I like either. I have seen many times and kept on walking. I really love them and they are so easy to take care of. Hutchisonii looks like a coral! Crazy
When I was a kid, like, nearly thirty years ago, pepperomias were in all the stores that had plants. Now, you barely ever see them around here. When you do, it's Watermelon plant.

I've had a Ruby Cascade Peperomia for almost a year and adore it. It's now a least 2 feet long. I need to give it a haircut :P And I just got my first watermelon peperomia today!!

But the Incana you just HAVE to stroke one! It’s the softest leaves you’ve ever felt, not even velvety like the velvet touch Calathea, but so much softer! I regret not picking one up when I spotted it 🌱
Eeeek!! I have the Caperata Pink Lady!!! I was super excited to find a single pot of it left in our nursery (South Africa). There was no doubt in my mind that I would bring it home. It is definitely a plant that turns me into a helicopter plant mom. The pink variegation, as with any other variegated plant, makes it not as hardy. So far so good, but definitely has adjusted to the space it is in my house. It is less full than when I bought it, but still alive and making tiny little green leaves!! Slowly...
Nick Pileggi is going to click so fast on this one!
Don't you think that Nick Pileggi knows more about common/rare peperomia than what is presented in this video? It seems like one of his specialties :)
That’s exactly why I think he’d watch it! When you really are into something you can’t help but watch or read everything about it 😁

This was a great informative video about the pepperonia-a very interesting kind of plant with many varieties
The peperomia verticillata that you said was elongated was in fact elongated!
