I bought a monstera Albo borsigiana from a flowershop this week. It is over a meter tall and i love love love it. It was a find paid Around 44£. Best deal of the century.
I found your channel a few weeks ago - I’m very entertained knowing you have not one of each of these, but sometimes dozens growing in your shop. Congratulations!
Micans might be common, but when the light shines on the leaves and they are all iridescent and velvety looking...UNF. Can't be beat. Two thumbs way up for that philo. 👍👍
Everytime I think I've completed a day on "no buy" i remember either i made an order online or I've sent a friend to a store for me while i was at work lol
Ashley M. me too i found a shop selling frydeks and they selling it for 50percent off but the problem was i didnt get it that day and after a day i went there again and decided to get it but its already sold. and i almost cried. i went home so sad😢
A philodendron Micans is so much more beautiful than it looks on the pictures! I just bought one because you sparked my love for velvet philodendrons and somehow I love it more than my gloriosum, the duo colour reddish shift to green is so magical.
I would love to live in your wish list! An all white apartment, large enough to have all these plants - even the scary spotted one - minimalist furniture, jungle warm and humid, with a sound track of tropical bird calls. Perfect!
I recently found a Selaginella Willdenowii in an unexpected place: A chain pet store in the USA called PetSmart, as if it's just an ordinary plant! I think it was somewhere around $10-15. It was on my wish list, too. It doesn't look blue right now, but I don't have it potted up yet and I'm hoping it isn't mislabeled.
Me when I see rare plants :😍 Me when I look at my apartment and realizing I don’t have any more space : 😱😩 This is why I will just live vicariously through my favorite plantaholic UA-camrs! Keep ‘em coming Kaylee. ❤️ your channel
I love watching your old videos where you're saying "I will not find this" and saying in a narrator voice "But she did." Sitting here with my Monstera obliqua, my Monstera formerly misidentified as epipremnoides now known as 'Esqueleto', my Philodendron melanochrysum and my Alocasia micholitziana (not 'Frydek' as 'Frydek' is the variegated cultivar) just feeling happy that most of these plants are now readily available to people who love them.
Now THAT is a hoya I can get into. I love my Carnosa Krinkle 8 (mainly because it was one of my very first plants and it gives me so much new growth to watch) but a lot of hoyas can look kind of.... basic? THAT is gorgeous
I totally get what you mean about the begonia amphioxus! Love me a good creepy/poisonous looking plant. My personal favourite is begonia ferox (or begonia melanobullata). Such a cool looking plant.
It amazes me to see this video you made 1 year ago and to now where you almost if not already have all you plants you wished for 😊 Congrats on your booming success!
KAYLEE, YOU ARE SUCH AN INSPIRATION! You make plant related videos, that I have never seen on other channels. You came up with such new ideas, that are unique in plantubers community! Thank you for another video, full of beautiful plants! You are one of couple youtubers, who INSPIRED me to start my own UA-cam channel about house plants! Keep doing your great work, every your video brightens up my day!
The Selaginella Willdenowii fern grows wild in the rainforests on the island i'm from in the Caribbean and they really do look that blue! they are even more iridescent and striking in person. The colour tends to shift from greeny-blue to striking blue depending on the lighting
Dieffenbachia reflector is not a trick. I saw it, it is beautiful! 😍😍 If my boyfriend doesn't get me one when I graduate, we will be over. Micans is lovely as well.
Blue is the hardest color to find in nature. If you’re able to pick it up get it blue is rare. True blue that is. I just can’t help but to feel some blue fern pictures are enhanced. I’d love to see what more you have found about that one!
I love my Hoya carnosa. I have it trailing up on the walls and it is just beautiful. Can't say I'm a 'hoya person' either, but my Hoya carnosa is my favorite plant that I own. I don't own many fancy or rare or exotic plants though so there's that lol. I wish i could add a photo to show you. I also drool over the pictum tricolor! Also, would love to see your favorites and/ or your collections of categories. You are so easy and enjoyable to watch!
I own a dieffenbachia reflector and I can reassure you, the veins really look like they reflect. It's an absolute stunning plant and it grows like crazy!
I am not a rare plant person as I don't have the conditions (or let's face it... the dedication) to care for them, but I love watching your videos. The plants are stunning and your enthusiasm is extremely charming! 💜
Most of the philos you mentioned are on my list as well. Had an opportunity, and just couldn't do it lol. I chose the alocasia silver dragon and a few others that were on my list. I hope I get to buy them at some point!
I just started watching you... Wanted to clarify a small point... Selaginella willdenowii isn't a fern, which is good, because most ferns are very hard to keep in a house because of their demand for high humidity. There is hope! Please let us know if you have acquired one. :)
Giiiiiirl, the hoya addiction is real. I didn't want any either. I'm a philo/anthurium girl through and through and didn't see the appeal of hoyas. Then a saw a gorgeous obovata with 3' long tendrils and had to have it. Now I have 5 hoyas and love them! Also, that spiritus sancti photo is from my favorite local plant shop! Arium Botanicals in Portland, OR, USA
I've had a couple different Aglaonema growing well for 5 - 10 years now. They don't need much water and prefer relatively low light. They're not very fussy once you get those two things lined up. We had some construction done on our home over the winter and ended up with the windows being boarded for a couple of months, so I bought a grow light. Most of my plants were very happy with it, but it was too much for my aglaonema, and the leaves suffered.
You really have great taste! And you weren’t expecting to get an obliqua.... and that other begonia you found and put in your orb??? My goodness you must be a good detective to have found them!! Before I started watching your videos I was only collecting orchids and ferns, now you are driving me crazy with all these beauties. Re the Selanginella: they are not true ferns, but just as beautiful, for that one you may try Siam Green Culture, I think they might have it, they do have some beauties!
I just got 2 smaller philo micans and put them together in a pot and its quickly became one of my favs. Something about that one just draws me in so I highly recommend keeping that one on your list to replace the brasil.
I just bought a Philondendron Micans last week! Its amazing. And I was very lucky to get one, in the plantshop they said that they sometimes wait 2 years to get plants like this (and the athurium clarinervium) 💖
I just ordered a matured Philodendron Melanochrysum with 10 inch leaves for $250.. and another matured Anthurium Waroqueanum with 8 inch leaves for $200. It definitely hurts paying that much, but they are so hard to find and it's easily one of the most beautiful Aroids to my opinon! They are going to go so well with my dozens of Philodendron Micans.
I'm good at working my wish list. I have this week the philodendron white wizard and monstera variegata indulged. Now the wish list has grown again.😀😅 thanks kaylee 😂 greetings from Germany
Love your rare plant wish list. I have never heard of or seen that Hoya, I have three Hoya's and they are not rare, I am currently looking for a Hoya Carnosa Tricolor, when the new leaves come in they are pink and so beautiful. I would love to find that Alocasa that has the pink or purple colored leaves, because who wouldn't love a pink or purple plant! Love the Dieffenbachia Reflecta, I have seen this plant somewhere here, so maybe it's not as rare for us here in the US, I'm not sure, but I love a good Dieffenbachia and there are some pretty ones. Thanks Kaylee Ellen, looking forward to your next video, bye for now.
Spiritus sancti the fact you made this list you will attract it. Then you also did a video. Maybe that baby is brought to me and I send you a plant as a gift! Manifestation at its finest!!!
Kaylee, you really have to start shopping for rares on Etsy! A few sellers sell most of the Philodendrons on your wishlist, INCLUDING THE PHILO. PATRICIAE :)
Thats how I felt watching this video!!! Haha. Also, I'm sorry!! I shouldv'e double checked before commenting, it seemed someone bought the one that was listed :'( @@KayleeEllenOfficial
Thank you so much for what must have been hours and hours of research that you've done which you have expertly distilled for us. I really appreciate this info. I recently purchased the Thai Constellation and was wondering about it and you answered all my questions.
I know this vid is old, but those variegated fearns aren't thst hard to get and are so easy to care for! They are beautiful too! ThougI live in Australia, however I have seen them cheaper in the UK.
When I saw this video, I went and got my Plant Lust list, because I KNEW I'd be adding to it. There 50 plants on there now. I love your wish lists!!! 🌱💚
I love all your philodendron wishlist, which is same as mine! I like the hoya you showed too. I have lots of hoyas but never seen the one you showed. Thanks for the list.
I just bought a philodendron micans from hirts website for $7.99 I think it was, with about $5-$6 shipping. Came in great condition. Just wanted to share in case you are still looking for one.
thanks! i would love a video of your favourite plants that you have and also a video of how you are going with fungas gnats and what products you used that worked and didn't work. thanks!
Sighs heavily.... Kaylee, you do it every time! It's a good thing I'm broke, because, boy oh boy. I don't bother with a wish list anymore, it's too long. Plus, I don't have any space, so. Thanks for sharing. Bye
I saw a philo micans on a nursery tour not too far from me for only 7 bucks, and it took all the force in my body to not just drive down there immediately
I was proud of only having 2 plants on my wish list (p. gloriosum and a variegated monstera deliciosa) but here I am adding more lol Though I recently got a p. mayai and a red p. erubescens so I will hopefully feel satisfied for a while
MY GOODNESS, I love your videos. Recently getting more plants. Also, I don't know what is going on with youtube, but you somehow got taken off of my subscriptions and the only reason I found this video was because I was looking on my recommended. Subscribed again. Love you!
I have a Begonia Amphioxus. Private sellers (who specialise in begonias) are your best bet, that's where I got mine from although they very rarely become available. It needs very high humidity. My apartment is naturally around 65-70% (without a humidifier) and this plant took a little while to settle in. Variegated Monsteras aren't rare but everyone wants them so they go quickly. Webbs garden centre has had fully grown specimens for around £80. There are a couple of private growers who sell mature plants too.
I have the dieffenbachia reflector, and it almost feels (and looks) like raw silk - and it grows quickly, is easy to care for and is not very expensive (they sold them at my local supermarket for around 10£ - or 100 Danish kroner) :)
I can totally relate how slow Monstera Borsigianas grow :D I got mine for more than 2 months at least, and still haven't developed a new leaf. I mean it looks healthy, but it just doesn't wanna grow a new leaf.
As a beginner, knowing next to nothing, I bought an Alocasia Morocco Pink Dragon because I liked the pretty pink stems! Then I wondered why it lost 2 of its 4 leaves and wasn't thriving like my other little plants! Without this level of ignorance I would not have been brave enough to attempt looking after an alocasia. I'm now addicted to alocasia. Ignorance is sometimes an advantage.
I hate that my wishlist is longer than this haha! Those big philos are so lovely. Also, check out alocasia macrorrhiza variegata. They're very similar in appearance to the monstera albo borsigiana!
About the selaginella willdenowii- there’s an online shop called Lincolnshire pond plants that are selling it for a few quid. I’ve never used them myself but they sell aquatic stuff :)
Girl... careful with the Hoya... they will get you. I find them pretty easy to care for (compared with my calathea and alocasia) and there are just so many to collect!!! But the fishtail is on my list (just got the Hoya Australis “Lisa” from my wishlist... if you like the variegated Carnosa, you will LOVE this one...)
Bahaha I can see you getting into begonias . They never did anything for me until I saved a dying begonia Rex for a dollar at Walmart. Then it grew so full and fast for me and I was pretty addicted and wanted to find more rare varieties.
I've had a few Selaginella, including that one, and... well, none made it. They need super high humidity. Like, in a home environment I'd say it's an enclosed terrarium or nothing.
Hi ya !! Phillondendron micans plant !! I just bought it today from garden center W6 , in London for only £12.99 , happy days 🤗 by the way love your video !!!
I have actually seen one in the wild in Bicol in the Philippines (Selaginella Willdenowii). The colour is really striking and you can definitely spot it from afar ahahaha!
When you are back in London try the Plant Warehouse in East London. I think they had the Monstera Albo. I took a picture of it. The place is complete plant porn and don't forget the plant market on Sunday morning but I think you know that. Absolutely love the Rare Index Plant.
OMG i've been trying to find a begonia pavonina but just can't get hold of it!! as soon as you said you liked blue plants and begonia came up i just knew it'd be on here, they're so beautiful. let us know if you get hold of one so i know where to look lmao
“I’m not expecting to find an Obliqua, I’m not expecting to find a spiritus” fast forward to today, where you have both!
Kaylee: "I tend to get out of control"
Me, in 2020 knowing full well she owns an Obliqua and Spiritus: oh honey...
That Philodendron Spiritus Sancti was for sale on NSE Tropicals....It sold for $1,450....I'm beyond jealous of whoever acquired it.
Andrea Healey I just saw an Obliqua sell for $2,800.
Lol that's rent! 😂😂
I bought a monstera Albo borsigiana from a flowershop this week. It is over a meter tall and i love love love it. It was a find paid Around 44£. Best deal of the century.

I'm two weeks deep into a no-buy. WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME
😆😆😆 The temptation is real!
You are doing so well, resist the urge to buy plants. Enjoy what you have and re-pot some that need it.
Everytime I think I've completed a day on "no buy" i remember either i made an order online or I've sent a friend to a store for me while i was at work lol

"It's almost like I can smell how rare they are" lol! I relate
I found a shop that sells Frydeks and my brain was like, 'buy three, it's fine.' 😅

May I suggest rhaphidophora tetrasperma, they are like mini monstera deliciosa, but are a separate species. Hope you like it haha
Oh i love my peacock fern. My local nursery always carries them

I saw that blue fern at a public park in Mexico City. The landscaper team had filled an entire square of a plaza with them. It was quite nice!

I've had a few Selaginella, including that one, and... well, none made it. They need super high humidity. Like, in a home environment I'd say it's an enclosed terrarium or nothing.
I love your wish list. They're all so amazing!
Get the Micans by the way, once you get it in person you will love it! I have a few I can’t get enough
I just bought an alocasia dragon scale ☺️ so excited to receive it, $38 in AUD
So I went to the zoo today... my parents had to drag me out of the jungle greenhouse. They had an alocasia frydek that was taller than me!
Hi ya !! Phillondendron micans plant !! I just bought it today from garden center W6 , in London for only £12.99 , happy days 🤗 by the way love your video !!!
That Philodendron Verrocosum is stunning3😍😍😍. I love your list. Thanks for sharing😊👍❤.
I just bought an alocasia frydek online from a nearby seller. Picking it up soon!
I would like to see a video of your favorite plants that you own, or like certain collections. I think that would be cool:)
