as a blind plant enthusiast, i love these videos!!! you describe the plants in great detail, i can picture them and decide what ones i possibly want on my wishlist. thankyou so much, you just earned a new subscriber.
Oh that's so neat! I have often wondered about how neat it would be to design a garden for those with limited sight-- focusing on texture and scent rather that straight looks. I'll admit I didn't think too much of it with houseplants, but I do have a tradescantia that has the most magically silky feeling leaves, with a super fine fuzz on them. I bought it because it was striped white and green, but I can't stop petting the leaves whenever I check up on it.
I know your comment is years old but I love it. I do not have problems with my sight, but as someone whos love for plants is very tactile, I can appreciate this! The textures, thicknesses, and smells of plants are everything. Lol. Good luck with your plants!
Hoya manipurensis is weird. I think it much more closely resembles Dischidia. It gets moved in and out of the genus periodically. Also if anyone likes Hoya finlaysonii or H. callistophylla, there are a ton in that "family" that bear a close resemblance like H. sp. Germany, H. clemensiorum, H. vitellina, H. meredithii, H. kalimantan, H. sp. borneo gunung gading, H. deykeae, and H. vitellinoides (which arguably is just H. meredithii and not a separate plant at all). Also, yes, Hoya hypolasia is very pubescent. As for the mature red leaves, it's usually a reaction to very bright light or direct sun. A lot put out red leaves at first which turn green, but some mature leaves turn red with enough light like Hoya 'Sunrise' or H. sp. borneo gunung gading. Or H. bordenii in this case. This was great, I've been waiting for you to do Hoya. Thanks!
I hate them too And I'll tell you why i hate it because I can and people are gonna hate me for saying it but I'm gonna say it The leaf looks like it's been damaged, like, you know those leaves that get bug infested and they come out weird? That's what those leaves reminds me of, and it's not super helpful that it has yellow edges ... usually variegated versions of a leaf is inwards, like, in the middle instead of on the edges? Yeah, I'm defending Kaylee on this one lol Again, if you love them, I totally get it and this is just my personal opinion
Just so you know, I’m having one of the worst days ever…. Im sitting down relaxing and winding down for the night. I haven’t watch this one yet because I’m just getting onto Hoyas. You still make people happy, even a year after posting this video! Thank you for making people happy, laugh and add some positivity in everyone’s life! 💕
You have to see Macrophylla when it’s gotten some light stress. They get red pigmentation around the margins of the leaves in a line that really frames the rest of the leaf. Stunning!
Hahah straight up sounding our alarms with that loudspeaker!! Yay thank you for this beast of a ranking video, I love seeing all these different types of hoyas you compiled together, their diverse morphologies are so starkly contrasted and accentuates our appreciation for all of them ^_^ I think the Hoya praetorii blooms are so adorable they look like fuzzy hanging upside-down marmalade-coloured bats ^_^ And the Hoya aspar flowers look like a Van Gogh painting with all those swirly bits!
From what I understand, hoya classification is totally about the blooms. I think that’s why you see several plants with extremely similar foliage and question whether or not they’re the same plant. I like hoya fine (I have a few) but their foliage generally speaking is pretty unremarkable. Those little candy looking blooms though are killer!!
Totally disagree. I collect Hoyas for the massive veiny leaves and Jurassic looking leaves. Undulata , Gunang Gading & Clemensiorum are some examples. As for the blooms , I have zero interest in them.
Love it. I watched your Begonia Index too with my plant Wishlist open to take notes. Turns out I still hate most Hoyas... all but 3 LOL. But I still love looking at a robust list of one species. And I love the sorting from common to super rare.
Thank you for all the research you put into each of these videos!!!! They have educated me immensely and has inspired me to collect rare plants myself!! Growing has brought so much joy into my life already. Keep it up!!!
So excited! For the first time I have plants from various categories on the list! Carnosa compacta var. Imbricata Curtisii Latifolia I saw that pic of hoya latifolia and sourced basically the only one on the internet. Bought that boi so fast
My first Hoya was a Krinkle 8. Took months to identify it and left it in the pátio without much care. She survived, big and strong, and now is one of my favorite plants. Sorry, dear Hoya. I really love you now.
Hey! I just want to thank you for your channel. Seeing your lovely plants and your love for and knowledge of these plants keeps me happy in this dire times
This just solidified the Hoyas I have on my wish list, but, OH, Kaylee! Now everyone else will also have them on their wish list, and they'll probably be even more expensive and harder to get. Thanks for that, and a big, warm welcome to all others joining the hoya hunt 😂😂😂 LOVED the length of the video. This honestly made my day 💕💕💕
Only ended up adding one to the list Hoya sp. Aspar, a girl can dream. I do already own 13 of the plants mentioned on the list and a handful more that weren't. One Hoya I've seen nobody talk about is Hoya Pandurata and it's the top of my wishlist, such a unique leaf shape
The great thing about Hoyas, they bloom over & over from the same bloom spot so don't clip the hoya bloom after you "think" it's finished! It's just working up a new bloom coming soon!❤️
From what I can tell from a few serches around the interwebs there seems to be around 900 different hoyas that have be found so far , these plants are amazing.
Hoya loving is a slippery slope 😂.. start with one next you own 42 and realise holy cow I’m addicted such beautiful plants even if they can be a little tricky
Most Hoya go red or flush with colour if exposed to sunlight, some sun stresses causes purple, some vivid red... as I progress through this vid OH YES! You have totally caught the bug 😂😂😂
There is a reason why the common name for hoya in Sweden is porcelain flower, porslinsblomma 😌 also the pic at 23:52 is from my go to plant store Grönaväxtriket, that plant sold for 35$
I’ve been collecting Hoyas for a while now and that does not appear to be a Hoya meredithii. The Hoya meredithii has much wider, flatter leaves that can have quite a funky ripple to them. The Hoya photo you included is listed on google as a meredithii but I’d imagine that to be incorrect.
If you look on Instagram there are much better photos and examples to choose from :) but sadly the one you showed is not correct. Otherwise, great video!
The red on that Bordenii's leaves came from sun stressing. It's basically the hoya version of a suntan. Some hoyas tan up right nice. Others look Irish when they've had too much sun
I don’t mind the long videos. I, too, have become a new Hoya head and appreciated all of these being highlighted. It was “affirming” in a very ridiculous way to know I have a few of these. Cudos for the extensive research you did to put this together! Soooo many varieties mentioned! Enjoy that drink! You deserve it! 🥂
Kaylee Ellen: here is a rare plant index 4 u guys Few days later, here is my plant wish list 4 u guys Again after a few days:i am sorry guys ,i couldn't control myself .here is a plant haul
Love this video! I think this information is really helpful for beginning houseplant enthusiasts so that they don’t spend more money on a plant than they should bc they’re just not aware of how common it is! Much appreciated, thank you!
This was the best video!!! I was waiting for this one since you filmed the monstera rare plant index. I'm so happy, you did the most amazing job! Unfortunately, my wallet will take a hit! P.s. love how weird and more comfortable you have gotten! Yay
Awww I love my Hoya Curtisii and I actually do not like Pepperomia 😆 I would liken Hoya Curtisii more to Ceropegia Woodii. The leaves are hard like porcelain and get soft when they need watering. Highly recommend!
Love the list and I would love to have the Jody's Silver Hoya as well. I agree some of those flowers belong on a cupcake. I do have a few on the uncommon list and yes I do have a variegated Kerri. Now I have a few more I can hunt for. I love your Rare Plant Indexes!
Also, If you would like to see full plants of Hoya. Doug from Vermont Hoya has some great videos and his website Vermont Hoya has some beautiful photos and care information.
Giiiiirl! 4:02, if that is your plant, you have a Heuschkeliana Variegata, and it’s been known to be a tricky one. Props to you, if that is growing in your home! The Hoya carnosa Rubra aka Krimson Princess has pink stems & much larger, thicker leaves :)
I wanted to get the variegated version of the wayetti, but I haven't found one near me. So I settled for a smallish non-variegated version. I am obsessed with my hoya pubicalyx royal Hawaiian purple. It's gorgeous and super easy to care for.
Yay!!!! Kaylee has the Hoya Bug!! 😀 Welcome too the Club!!! ❤️ I love the Retusa, ie Frogs toes it’s because the tip ends are scalloped, so cute. The Obviate is so round an thick, it reminds me of a Manatee tail. Lol Thanks so much there are now many more on my wish list!! 😀
"I'm not even sure I would get a bloom out of a hoya" I completely feel this haha. Same reason I picked out a Paphiopedilum lawrenceanum fma. hyeanum for an orchid since the foliage is super cool.
Longer videos of index yessss plsss and thank you! Also longer wish list videos! Also a fish tank video tour!!! Dying for that!!!!! Love your channel!!!!!
Really LOVED this! Loving that intro!! 😆. 🔊 I always add to my wishlist after these kinda vids! I have a callistophylla and a meredithii and I cant tell the difference between them. And still wondering if one of them is the Finlaysonii....🤷♀️
😃😘Just the BEST OF THE BEST HOYA video ever made! 🥰 This made my day Kaylee! Watched the whole thing while sitting at work, ignored all clients calls and emails coz gotta do what you gotta do aight?!!🤣 Thank you Kaylee! Gotta have those VERY RARE & EXTREMELY RARE HOYAS soooon! 😄 ...sending orders to my guy in Asia now...
I got a H. Latifolia today. As I pulled it out of the box, I was like "shiiiiit!... Oh my god!..... shiiiit." Just a bot shocked over it's leaf size. Only one leaf, but it's massive. It's the size of my face. I could wear it as a mask. Lol. Great video, yes, the Hoya bug is highly contagious. I was strictly Aroids, but was given one in Dec. I have 16 now. Lol. Including a few on here. Latifolia, finlaysonii etc
@KayleeEllen I full on blame you/this video for my current Hoya addiction 😅😂😍. My bank account hates it but my son and I are obsessed with your videos! Thanks for the content. 💚
as a blind plant enthusiast, i love these videos!!! you describe the plants in great detail, i can picture them and decide what ones i possibly want on my wishlist. thankyou so much, you just earned a new subscriber.
This comment is everything to me. Thank you!

That’s why I like her too. She describes things so well.
Oh some blooms look like nipple stickers hahah
I know your comment is years old but I love it. I do not have problems with my sight, but as someone whos love for plants is very tactile, I can appreciate this! The textures, thicknesses, and smells of plants are everything. Lol. Good luck with your plants!

This was great, I've been waiting for you to do Hoya. Thanks!
the hoya queen has spoken.
I’m glad you did Hoyas because so I can try to see why so many people love them. Please do Peperomias next! Love youuuuu
Yesss
There are more than 1000 species of peperomia. Are you trying to kill Kaylee?
kelly McGregor nope not at all, she doesn’t have to do all of them 👀
kelly McGregor it’s all about rare!! I think there’s at least that many philodendron as well!
I am trying to see why people love them too
26:57 Bats. They look like little, adorable, baby bats.
When you have 5 of the hoyas listed in a Rare Plant Index.... 🙌🏼🙌🏼 and one somewhat rare... it’s a good day!!!!!!! #shepherdii
My Clean Leaves Sure is!!! 😀
I have 6! We have great sellers here in Eastern Europe fore rare hoyas. Kaylee forgot the rotundiflora :) it was hard to get that one.
I feel like I'm playing bingo, making a list of what I have 🤣
I love my shepherdii so much
I have 21 of the hoyas listed in this video. :-)
Hoya Kerrii: *is shaped like smol hearts that look like they glow on the sides*
Keylee: I don't like it! It's ugly!
Hoya Kerrii: :'o
Me, to Hoya Kerrii: you're beautiful and cute dont listen to herrrrr
*Covers plant's ears* 😢.
I hate them too
And I'll tell you why i hate it because I can and people are gonna hate me for saying it but I'm gonna say it
The leaf looks like it's been damaged, like, you know those leaves that get bug infested and they come out weird?

Yeah, I'm defending Kaylee on this one lol
Again, if you love them, I totally get it and this is just my personal opinion
I never understood the appeal of the kerii either!
Not a fan either. But that's ok.
Kaylee: "this video is so long let me know what you think"
me: *likes video and rewatches older plant-index videos for 3 more hours*
Literally me EVERY time there's a new rare plant index 🤦♀️😂
Hoyas! This is church to me lol
I reported this video to plant council for being too long.
Me before this video: Meh, I guess hoyas are ok but I’m not really interested in them.
Me after the video: do I really need both of my kidneys?
😃
Just so you know, I’m having one of the worst days ever…. Im sitting down relaxing and winding down for the night. I haven’t watch this one yet because I’m just getting onto Hoyas. You have to see Macrophylla when it’s gotten some light stress. They get red pigmentation around the margins of the leaves in a line that really frames the rest of the leaf. Stunning!
Love the longer videos!! Need more rare plant index updates too!!! You’re the best!
Oh My! Are you in for a treat! "Hello, My name is Kaylee Ellen, and I'm a Hoya-holic!" *everyone claps* "Welcome, Kaylee!" :)
*One of us, ONE OF US, OnE oF uS* !!!!!
ReSiStAnCe Is FuTiLe!
Hahah straight up sounding our alarms with that loudspeaker!! Yes Hoyas have beautiful folliage. And when ordering, definitely choose the leaves you like most because blooms for most can take awhile.
Thank you Kaley Ellen. Always enjoy watching.
“It’s got booty” 😂😂 I’m dead.
🤣😁
haha! ur reply makes me laugh as well! :P
The blooms that are simplistic with jus white and pink centers remind me of fondant icing flowers on cakes. They’re so delicate and pretty
Hayley Grzych yes, the classification is based mainly on the blooms. Some hoyas foliage look the same, but the bloom type determines the genus
Totally disagree. I collect Hoyas for the massive veiny leaves and Jurassic looking leaves. Undulata , Gunang Gading & Clemensiorum are some examples. As for the blooms , I have zero interest in them.
Thank you for the rare plant index!!
So excited!!!!! Haven't even finished watching yet!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Also, leaves will get red the more sun they get. Sometimes new foliage will come in red and turn green, but it's more of a light thing :)
Basie Plants yay I thought this was the case but only a hoya beginner so didn't want to comment 😅 thanks for letting us know! 👌🏻♥️
Love it. I watched your Begonia Index too with my plant Wishlist open to take notes. Turns out I still hate most Hoyas... all but 3 LOL. But I still love looking at a robust list of one species. And I love the sorting from common to super rare.
This was the most EPIC Rare Plant Index! Loved it! Though maybe I'm biased because I like Hoya.
Thank you for all the research you put into each of these videos!!!! They have educated me immensely and has inspired me to collect rare plants myself!! Growing has brought so much joy into my life already. Keep it up!!!
I really want to see your fish tank!! Also i would love to see a rhaphidophora rare plant index
I am so on board with the hoya bloom jellies
So excited! For the first time I have plants from various categories on the list!
Carnosa compacta var.
Imbricata
Curtisii
Latifolia
I saw that pic of hoya latifolia and sourced basically the only one on the internet. Bought that boi so fast
My first Hoya was a Krinkle 8. Took months to identify it and left it in the pátio without much care. She survived, big and strong, and now is one of my favorite plants. Sorry, dear Hoya. I really love you now.
Best intro.Love that when you say 'Glad you can make it'
What do others think about a Rare Plant Index on Rhipsalis? Am I the only one who loves jungle cacti?
They're my absolute favourite.
YES! I would love a RPI about these!
Love the longer format! Also love the old Kaylee being back again. When you’re happy it shines through. 😃
Hey! I just want to thank you for your channel. Seeing your lovely plants and your love for and knowledge of these plants keeps me happy in this dire times
Great video! I love the rare plant index videos. Hoyas are so pretty thank you so much for sharing!

LOVED the length of the video. This honestly made my day 💕💕💕
Hahaha, same here
Yes!! I never thought you'd do a Hoya episode. Got my Hoya Wishlist note on my phone at the ready!
This list is so unpredictable, coming from someone in the US! Also, red leaves are from sun stress. Not necessarily detrimental to its health, btw😍
The great thing about Hoyas, they bloom over & over from the same bloom spot so don't clip the hoya bloom after you "think" it's finished! It's just working up a new bloom coming soon!❤️
Screaming because I love hoyas but I can’t watch this full video on my lunch break!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I CANNOT WAAAAIIIITTT SEND HELPPP
Quit your job ASAP.
That's the only solution to heal your soul!!! 😉👍
So glad this series is carrying on 💓
From what I can tell from a few serches around the interwebs there seems to be around 900 different hoyas that have be found so far , these plants are amazing.

The more the merrier ;D🌸💖.
Jordan's Boy totally ☺️👍🏼
I started with one and ended up with a mealybug battle from hell 😅😭 I really want to try again
Notice Me Senpai don’t give up! Mealy bugs are horrible but as long as you’re persistent you can get rid of them ☺️
There is a reason why the common name for hoya in Sweden is porcelain flower, porslinsblomma
😌 also the pic at 23:52 is from my go to plant store Grönaväxtriket, that plant sold for 35$
I love Grönväxtriket, go there all the time! love it!
@@aliceskirfors2156 me too

Kaylee, hoyas are VERY addicting. I love how low maintence they are.....water about once per month and fertilize three times per year.
YAAASSSS so excited that you are loving Hoyas finally! Been waiting too long for this!
Yay. Finally another Rare Plant Index. Missed this!!!!
I have been WAITING SO LONG for this onneeeee
Me too ! Thank you Kaylee !!!!
Me too! I love Hoya!
Kaylee Ellen: here is a rare plant index 4 u guys
Few days later, here is my plant wish list 4 u guys
Again after a few days:i am sorry guys ,i couldn't control myself .here is a plant haul
This was my first "Rare Plant Index" that I watched and I loved it! Thanks for posting these and introducing me to so many plants!
Love this video! I think this information is really helpful for beginning houseplant enthusiasts so that they don’t spend more money on a plant than they should bc they’re just not aware of how common it is! Much appreciated, thank you!
Amazing! Thanks! The long-form of the most popular series is appreciated! ❤️
You are hilarious and adore your personality. Love your honest opinions. Loved the length of this video as well. Looking forward to another one!
This was the best video!!! I was waiting for this one since you filmed the monstera rare plant index. I'm so happy, you did the most amazing job! Unfortunately, my wallet will take a hit!
P.s. love how weird and more comfortable you have gotten! Yay
Hooray for more plants 🌱 in the videos! And pictures!!!!!! Terrarium plants would be fun! Ardisias, Labisias, sonerilas!
Awww I love my Hoya Curtisii and I actually do not like Pepperomia 😆 I would liken Hoya Curtisii more to Ceropegia Woodii. The leaves are hard like porcelain and get soft when they need watering. Highly recommend!
I actually love this long index videos. I just discovered your channel and I'm glued to the screen!
I'm not into hoyas really but I do have and absolutely love my hoya compacta and variegated compacta and now that silver compacta has my eye.
Oh man, I feel bad for giggling at the EU part
The Bella grows so well and blooms prolifically! It’s the closest to care for aroids than other Hoyas for me. Definitely recommend it.
I love the megaphone 📣 I literally cracked up 🤣
Love your video on the hoya , they are my favourite plant, l hope to collect them all one day...tfs.
Fantastic! I love these. I am also inspired to try Hoya. Thank you so much for these videos!
Love the list and I would love to have the Jody's Silver Hoya as well. I agree some of those flowers belong on a cupcake. I do have a few on the uncommon list and yes I do have a variegated Kerri. Now I have a few more I can hunt for. I love your Rare Plant Indexes!
The blooms on the hoya praetorii look like a bunch of cute lil orange bats ❤️❤️
Wow the fishtail Hoya is insanely beautiful 😍
Halloween Mischief I just bought a normal wayetii! Didn't find the variegated one either
Me over here with my "ugly" variegated Hoya kerrii thinking that I dont like Hoya polyneura 😂
"I'm not even sure I would get a bloom out of a hoya"
I completely feel this haha. Same reason I picked out a Paphiopedilum lawrenceanum fma. hyeanum for an orchid since the foliage is super cool.
I liked this video. Safes me a lot of time and research. Thx!
Loved this video and the info that you shared 👍🏻💚🌱
♥️💕d every minute! I also think the flowers look yummy 🤤! Like white chocolate or fondant! Can’t wait for the next video!!!
Longer videos of index yessss plsss and thank you! Also longer wish list videos! Also a fish tank video tour!!! Dying for that!!!!! Love your channel!!!!!
I’ve been eyeing a polyneura on a local sale group for a week.... this convinced me to get it
Love to see all those beauties, thanks for sharing!!!
I love the way you describe the plants very clear
YAYYYYY! Really enjoy the rare plant index i always rewatch them over and over! Hoping one day you'll do one for palms or pipers 🤞
FINALLY!!!! I'm a Hoya head so this just made my day!!
Sheperdii blooms smell so good, kind of like an adorable grandma
Really LOVED this! Loving that intro!! 😆. 🔊 I always add to my wishlist after these kinda vids! I have a callistophylla and a meredithii and I cant tell the difference between them. And still wondering if one of them is the Finlaysonii....🤷♀️
First time watching and thoroughly enjoyed it. 😊
...sending orders to my guy in Asia now...
I like your long videos! And I love this plant index! Soooo excited for the next one!
Some suggested might be: Syngonium, Aloe, and Oxalis.
🤣😂🤣😂 I need a megaphone!!! 🌿💚🌿
What The Flock Farm Yes you do Brad!! ❤️ 😂
@@sherryporsch9349 I Think My Friend Has One!!
I have 6 of these hoya's and I absolutely love them. My favorite is the Globulosa. It is so velvety and the largest leaf is as long as my hand.... ♡
In Finnish Hoyas are called Posliinikukka which literally translates to Porcelain flower. And no wonder why it's called that :P
kuukimunster same in sweden
Same in French :)
Same in German too!
I had a lovely Hoya Carnosa ...the bloom is very lovely. And it also has beautiful smell.
The Hoya Meredithii picture is wrong, it is not a meredithii. That picture look more like a finlaysonii
Yes, I have a H. meredithii and the leaves are very round and not pointy.
Love Hoyas. From your list I found 6 I want bad now. Thanks again. Have a great day😊
I'd love to see an updated one of these!!!
Just hopped on the Hoya train! Toot toot! 😂😂😂
I caught that Kaylee likes pointy long leaves. I love round thick leaves, the rounder the better.
I like kerriis. Lol. Great Valentine’s Day present.
this mega phone is really practical for important messages such as you owning a megaphone. love it
