As Matt scrolls through the performance options, I see a best of 4.1 sec 0-60, not bad. And the owner has had it up to a top speed of 160MPH so far, awesome.
Can't go wrong with either one. Charger is a little slower and worse handler but it is also a family sedan. The Mustang is quicker, handles better, and offers a stick shift but is only a 2+2 seater coupe. I had a 2017 Mustang GT. Great car. I miss it. But I am considering a Charger Scat Pack as my next family sedan. They are both sexy. Can't go wrong with either choice.
Jose Luis I really love the mustang but I heard it’s bad on gas, I’m looking for a first car and I’m kinda stuck, and I definitely want something quick with handling, opinion?
@@khaosstacks5939 I don't know your budget but Mazda Miatas are rear wheel drive, quick with great handling and are good on gas. Any car with a big engine will waste lots of gas and depending where you live can be very expensive. The Miata is really fun and light. My Mustang however is slightly better on gas than my buddies Charger RT. I think it is mostly because it is smaller and lighter but it still bad on gas. It all depends on your budget.
@@caloFi Ha Ha. No, the Miata is a great car. It isn't a 5.0 Mustang but price wise it is comparable to the 4 cylinder Ecoboost and for a young person on a budget it is probably a better buy. The Dodge Charger Scatpack is a great fun family car but is a FAMILY car and doesn't handle like a sports car. The base Mustang Ecoboost is okay and the base Charger SXT is okay but a base Miata is super fun for less money which handles better and uses less gas. If he were just sticking between the Big 3 U.S.A. corporations then you are limited to Dodge Charger & Challenger, Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro. All are Rear Wheel Drive and can be fun but they were all designed to have big V8 engines and the economy versions of them still have to carry all that extra weight which can be underwhelming. Bottom line is it takes big money to buy and run a great powerful car. He said it would be his first car which likely means low funds. I still think a used Miata would be a great first car that is fun, handles great, and gives you great MPGs. When he makes big bucks then upgrade to a V8 of his choosing. Just my 2 cents. It doesn't matter.
Mustlehard yeah I see them around too, but still not as much as I see mustangs and camaros. I owned a scat pack about 2 years ago (currently have a Hellcat) and can't deny how nice they are. Sound, exterior, interior, performance, can't really go wrong. Only negative thing is it doesn't handle as well as its competitors, but then again, unless you are going to track it, you really wont notice it. Scats still come with the bilstein shocks and sport tuned suspension, so not shabby at all.
Mustlehard where? I own a 2012 mustang gt, 2014 evo x gsr, and 2018 Dodge Charger scat pack with dynamics package. I see more 5.0s and EVOs than scat packs. I see a lot of chargers but they are mostly the v6 or the lower powered RT, not the scat pack. Handling, evo is my favorite. Straight line performance, the scat pack is my favorite. Most comfortable seat for me is the evo recaros. They provide great back support. My back feels best in those. Favorite car at the moment is most def the charger but it is mostly for my wife. I rather have a more dedicated track car that is both fast on the straight and turns. Like a ZL1 but those are ugly to me

I have a 2018. I have had it for about a year. I wish I would have gotten the Hellcat. I don't hate it, but, it's not very fast with those stock tires. Prepare to lose to all Camaro SS off the line. I have a Zautomotive Tazer, so mine runs in track mode all day. The theatrics of the car is what I like about it; it's loud. Cold starts at 5am make the neighbors happy too.

jakeSINbernhard I'm actually fine with the automatic because it brings faster shifting therefore faster 0-60, and better fuel economy too, this big engine really burns.

Have had my 2017 Scat Pack (Dynamics Package, Beats Audio, Tech Grp, Driver conf. Grp, in Destroyer Grey) for 1 year and almost 11,000 miles. Has not spent a day in the shop. Every drive can be a roller-coaster ride if you want. Or you can just relax and take it easy. I get about 18mpg combined. Have achieved 28mpg hwy only. Love this car so much I still like watching UA-cam videos about it. Thanks Matt!! He nailed it about the sounds this car makes; it's intoxicating. Cheers!
TABEAST_MuMONSTER not with the traffic where I live. Also, the car is only rated for 15 mpg city. I understand some owners use the Tazer to unlock valet mode which helps with fuel mileage while commuting to/from work (or whenever I guess). But I bought this for smiles per gallon anyway, LOL.
Owned a 17 Scat traded for a 19 Ram, 08 Vette, then 11 CTS-V and currently considering going back to another Scat. Such a great everyday car for the money.
That is really a beautiful and more pure Scatpack sedan. The Mitsubishi dealer could’ve vacuumed off that dash before you did your detailed look, it was very distracting. I’ve driven the Challenger and the charger and I feel the Charger with the longer wheelbase has better handling dynamics than the challenger. That being said, since my wife and I are now empty-nesters, I purchased the challenger scat pack for 2020 and haven’t looked back. Great car, and so far knock on wood, rock solid reliability!

Good review Matt, you summed it up well! The Scat Pack really is the best bang for your buck that Dodge offers IMO which is why you see them a lot. I have a near fully loaded 2015 Challenger Scat Pack with the Shaker and manual trans. It's a lot of fun and I plan to do a few mods to kick it up a notch. Great review on a badass car! My preference is the Challenger 392, but these are cool as well. The TF 8 speed is amazing, 0 to jail in seconds....lol FYI, I was able to get 26.7 MPG on my last roadtrip to Maine in my Challenger 392 in Eco Mode.
Really recommend SRT Charger. It's approx 8K more, but the tires, brakes, and suspension upgrades are worth it. That 6.4 has so much power...it's managed better under SRT.
@@stevenreichertart I love it! I was almost gonna buy a Camaro SS and fell in love the Scat Pack... it's amazing trust me:). I ultimately bought a Jaguar Ftype S (V6 supercharged) but I still love American muscle! what a great time to be alive!
To be honest after watching this im in love with the charger R/T but still can't decide if it's worth getting this over an Infiniti Q50 3.0T or Red sport 400 which are fast and handle very well with a very nice luxurious interior. Main reason ive aimed more towards an Infiniti is because price is cheaper. The 3.0T sport is low 30K range which the Red sport 400 and Charger scat pack are much more identical in price. Both cars work for me and my family seating 5 which would be my main 2 options if I don't get a truck which my fiance and everyone else has tried encouraging me to get lol
So you Regret buying a car that has been out for 4 years now for a car that hasn't even been released..... Or a Car that no one knows ever will be released 😂😂😂 Bruh drive that shit, shutt up, and trade that bitch if it comes out son
@@jrodzilla24 the 392 isnt going to stick around the 5.7 is going to stay because of the trucks and its a proven durable engine with alot more potential, the entry srt never stuck with their engines from the 6.1 to the 6.4 with the 5speed and now the 8spd its already a 8 year old engine yes the coyote has the same 5.0 but its their only v8 in the lineup the 5.7 is almost laughably slow for a modern v8 and once that gets a power increase for the refresh i have no doubt that the 392 is going to get dropped for something new
I own a 2016 392SRT and I frickin still love the crap outta of it. Great value and price for what you get. If you can't quite reach the payment the Scat Pack has the same engine for a lot less and you can always add a Supercharger later on. ;-)
@Silver N Black Mopar good point....but the Charger is living on borrowed time itself. Hell Chrysler is said to have announced that the 300 would be discontinued
This vehicle is such a steal for the amount of power and accessories included RT scat pack is the way if you think about the SRT yeah has more Features suspension wise and Interior but practically the same thing. I mean if you want an SRT just save a few more G's and you can get the hellcat.. That's just my opinion then again.
Even as a weekend only go nowhere car, this would be $120/mo in gas easy. As a daily commuter, $400 + easy. They're fun cars but be prepared to pay for it.

The throttle is is most sensitive I've ever used, literally a millimeter of give is enough to get going.
we drove this beast tonight.. damn
Bill Pence I just rented a Charger R/T and was blown away. The Scat Pack edition must be even wilder.
@@stevenreichertart I love it! I was almost gonna buy a Camaro SS and fell in love the Scat Pack... it's amazing trust me:). I ultimately bought a Jaguar Ftype S (V6 supercharged) but I still love American muscle! what a great time to be alive!
I love his excitement!
Wow looks like a modern day version of the Bullitt Mustang’s nemesis!!
Hmmmm🤔 to speed. 160 much. Lmao. 4.1 sec 0-60.
Dealership. Vehicle add. " immaculate scat pack. Never driven hard, mature adult previous owner". Lol
😂😂😂
That touch screen and software is the exact same as the one in my new Wrangler.
I've been waiting for this!!!
Which did you get? Lol
What did. U get
I’m having the same dilemma now between this and the the q50
Nice review. I Have.a 2015 B5 Blue. Love it to death. Also, it shifts way faster in Sport mode.
Sexier than any audi,bmw imo
i bought mine for low 30k last year, i wouldnt buy one now and almost regret buying mine because of all the engine rumors
RTLoBoat what engine rumors. I've had mine for a year and hit 34000 miles and drive mine hard. Not one issue
RTLoBoat , ohhh new engine rumors. Gotcha
So you Regret buying a car that has been out for 4 years now for a car that hasn't even been released..... Or a Car that no one knows ever will be released 😂😂😂 Bruh drive that shit, shutt up, and trade that bitch if it comes out son
@@stefbro hahahahahahahahhaahh that car is never going to be sold to the masses. Forget about that
@@jrodzilla24 the 392 isnt going to stick around the 5.7 is going to stay because of the trucks and its a proven durable engine with alot more potential, the entry srt never stuck with their engines from the 6.1 to the 6.4 with the 5speed and now the 8spd its already a 8 year old engine yes the coyote has the same 5.0 but its their only v8 in the lineup the 5.7 is almost laughably slow for a modern v8 and once that gets a power increase for the refresh i have no doubt that the 392 is going to get dropped for something new
How's reliability with these? Buy or lease? I want one so bad but don't want any headaches
I'll never understand why people think leather is better than fabric seats
I own a 2016 392SRT and I frickin still love the crap outta of it. Great value and price for what you get. If you can't quite reach the payment the Scat Pack has the same engine for a lot less and you can always add a Supercharger later on. ;-)
How far is the concern of reliability
Watching this video and one drove by me. What are the odds? Honestly a better buy then Hellcat. You can modify it to be like a hell cat for less money
someone should make a blood splatter gif when he hits a bump at 11:40
You can't beat a charger man.
I mean.... yes you can. Obviously.
What? No way!
Yeah you can: simply change direction because this bloated sumo wrestler on wheels can't keep up
Silver N Black Mopar Pontiac may be dead but at least they had more than two identical cars in their lineup, unlike Dodge
I was going to get a scar pak or 392 now but when I can wait a year and get a hellcat for 30-40k makes more sense
Yea but the hellcats will have a bunch of miles
I wanna get one of those this year, l love that car!
Just bought that exact car. Its Quite a car.
Damn im dreaming about those chargers and challengers, sadly not available in EU :(
mar-v-son I'll trade you for an RS6 Avant
The power of v8 is beautiful
1. South Park 2. Mitsubishi 3. Dodge Charger (Dont add up...)
The best part of the video is when he opened it open a awkwardly laughs hahah
nice vid. liked bfore watching b/c i knew it was going to b good
Lowest one I seen was $34,000 (brand new). Thinking hard bout getting it.
Yellow Mamba that's a great price...
BUY IT!
Buy it, you won't regret it. I don't regret mine at all, I look forward to driving every day.
better flip about 4000 more beef patties num nuts..
Wish i could find one that cheap around me... they asking 39k for slightly used ones where i live 🤦🏼♂️😭
Even as a weekend only go nowhere car, this would be $120/mo in gas easy. As a daily commuter, $400 + easy. They're fun cars but be prepared to pay for it.
Awesome car, but 3% oil life left. I bet the oil has never been changed in the 15k miles....no thanks!
