Cool, it will run to 250,000 miles too, thinking about an upgrade from my Mustang GT, the neighbor has one Silver and Roared down the block, sounded like a 747 was landing.
tbh I was going after one because I couldn't afford the Hellcat version, but after test driving one... I'm getting it for what it is and not just because it's a lesser option. It's an amazing machine on its own.
I bought this car about three weeks ago, traded in my 2015 Challenger Hellcat for this widebody. I absolutely love it, it's much more fun to drive than the Hellcat, drives and handles better. And this car really turns heads, because most people out there are not aware of the widebody. I have an all black one and the pollen here down south been keeping me busy.
I bot a black 2019 RT charger & the pollen is making me trade it in I plan on getting a scat pack indigo blue but dealer told me to wait 5 months Dodge plan closed not many scat packs can be found right near me.
Yeah man I’m getting me a 2020 scatpack by the end of this year fasho, I’ve borrowed my friends 2018 charger hellcat for a few weeks got a good feel for it but the scat is more then enough.
Sedans are only dying off cause the majority are boring FWD cars with no styling. I dropped my mustang for a charger RT cause i needed a more practical car but still wanted power and am very happy with my decision.
People complain about the reliability of FCA vehicles, and it's probably justified. But you have to give them credit! They offer us some of the most unique vehicles in America. NOBODY else makes something like this! It's just soooo cool! A 485hp family car from a mainstream manufacturer??!! Awesome! And don't forget about Jeep. Just nothing like it!
@@zeektacus That's exactly why. It was a great performer with a great value that very very few people knew about. It wasn't advertised at all and looked like a normal Chevy sedan
@miguelaog We only got the SS because of Australian union contracts the remaining Commodores got sent to US . No point on advertising since it was a small number of cars that had to get sent to US market.
I think the extra money for the hellcat is worth it. Especially since you can find the manual challenger hellcats, with under 1,000 miles, for $50,000. This widebody scat does look amazing tho!
The scat pack is the sweet spot. A hellcat is too much horsepower. I'm not afraid of losing control of my scat pack (Challenger) when I floor the gas. There's something to be said for experiencing the power of a car knowing you always have the leash to reel it back in. I've never driven a hellcat but I've heard many stories of them being very easy to put in a ditch if you aren't careful.
I bought a 2019 Charger RT two months ago (I wanted a V8 but not tons of power) and it has been the best decision I ever made. The sound never gets old. It too has the active exhaust standard
My 2019 Scat did 4.5 but I got the 245's still... A lot depends on geographic location too, if you are near sea level your times are faster... Ill bet folks will be getting 4.0's possibly 3.9's in these wide bodies.
This color for the scat pack is beautiful, really underrated in my opinion ... plus it’s a wide body? Gosh I’d die for a regular charger yet alone a wide body?? Beautiful.
Thy did update the materials, Matt just didn’t talk about it. It’s all stitched now with a different soft touch surface then 2018 and what’s still offered in the 300 unfortunately.
@@rsheffield201226 it looks completely different. If the charger has that option called “premium stitching” u will get trouble bright colored stitching all over the doors and dash. So u can get a black interior with two big bright red stitching running the front and rear doors , and dash. Or white stitching , ETC. really brings the interior to life! If the charger doesn’t have the stitching on the doors (upper door) and dash you don’t have the upgraded materials... and if I’m not mistaken it’s only available in GT and up trims.
I think me personally I will get the Scatpack , your never gonna really use all 707 horsepower and Scatpack is budget Friendly for the Power and Technology you get on the car
I had a 2017 RT, and now a 2019 Scatpack. You are right as you step up in models the window to use all the power narrows on public roads, But I traded up because I wanted more power. Modding a 5.7 or 6.4 to get a reasonable bump in power is expensive, and you have really have to know what you are doing or who is doing it. Now with the 392 I still feel the need for more power. With hindsight, I would have just gone for the Hellcat form the start. Between the Scatpack and RT I could have gotten a Hellcat. Yes you can't use all 707hp as often, but its there. But we got to be responsible with all this fun... You can get yourself sent to jail real quick in any of these rides.
I'd disagree with you there on the "you're never gonna really use all 707 horsepower". I rented a hellcat and I used every bit of power A TON on the street, it is EXTREMELY fun. That 707hp is VERY usable, the car has terrific mechanical grip (I imagine the widebody is quite a bit better, too) and even the manual transmission model I rented put the power down very well, and when the traction control did have to intervene, unless it was uneven/broken pavement and the tires really got out of control, the traction control is very non-intrusive and only pulls power back until the tires catch, it doesn't just kill the ignition. So it puts the power down great allowing for great fun on the street, and when the traction control intervenes, it's still a ton of fun. So you'll definitely use all 707hp if you have it. That being said, the Scatpack is obviously much cheaper, and it's definitely the more budget friendly option. Although now with Dodge's power dollars deal, $7000 off MSRP, you can get the hellcat MSRP of 52k, which is pretty fucking awesome.
Carson D no ones ever going to use all that horsepower. A majority of people just get the hellcat or red eye just for bragging rights because they have the top of line challenger/charger.
