In 2001, I fell in love with a man who I believed was my soul mate. This song went round and round in my head. The lyrics and music captured the feelings I had for this man. Turns out, he didn't love me, but I am still grateful for the experience of loving someone so completely, unconditionally, infinitely. This song always reminds me of that intoxicating feeling of what it was like to love someone like this.
I have a friend who I love so much but who I know doesn't and never will love me. This song expresses my feelings so perfectly

My late son Greg loved all Paul Weller’s music.. and especially this piece. I had this played for him as we left the Church on the day of his funeral in April this year ...very moving. Paul...he met you several times.. you have just lost your biggest fan x

Why was I so in love with this song the very first time I ever listend to in a beach here in Brazil?! Brilliant intimate gig in a fantastic venue in Limerick last night. Mr Weller and thank you so much for giving Ireland two fantastic nights of the best of culture and music and sharing your genius - is already a living legend and at the very top of his game the whole set band songs guitar and keyboard playing the saxophone and his main guitarists and backing people were first class and his looked fantastic extremely stylish, super cool as always and very fit and with a great new hair cut very classy and his key board and solo guitar playing was out of this world his voice was better than I had ever heard it. Mr Paul Weller is unquestionably a giant of world rock music and a musical genius, what a lucky guy! ( Rickie Lee Jones!) He sang a new upbeat song called Glad Man or words to that effect and his new work is very mellow and works very well with the musicians he plays with so the whole concert was excellent the highest of professionalism and brilliance and what a rocker the best living solo rock artist in the world in my humble opinion, He looked 40! or younger!! Expect that this fantastic song could be on his playlist. I found that not having my phone on was a good thing and that just listening to his music and words and tempo had a very calming effect on the mind and soul and that was doing something wonderful to and for his audience and many admirers and fans. I am sure all the newspaper reviews will support this private review and that I am not giving anything away. I give this 100% and I was once described as world class once in my field ( because of a not-so-sunny thing called misogyny) but also called a brilliant woman by the Irish High courts for allegedly standing up to it which is extremely difficult to do for any women because I always spoke up like Mr Paul Weller ( Rebel Rebel you your hair is definitely not a mess) Mr David Bowie RIP, but only to try and get more excellence into mathematics education policy in Ireland but did not have my own company etc so this is a good grade and exellent mark. Getting a ticket at the very last minute at a sold-out concert of this calibre was a Simple Twist of Fate from the master of musical satire, Mr Bob Dylan and we have sunshine a much better future ahead with the lovely warm gent that is Keir Starmer whose campaign strategists were largely Irish!! Hopefully from now on more peace in our time between the UK Ireland Europe and the rest of the world with an very ordinary but extraordinary decent and human empathetic and humble kind and very kind and compassionate but nobody's fool like Mr Paul Weller. Given Mr Weller's recent comments to the Irish Times about his profound disillusionment with UK politics in spite of Weller saying he has always previously optimistic by nature, so he might be happy or relieved to hear on Sky News that Starmer promised and quoted part of the victory speech of Starmer

Finally found it!!!!! I was traveling in England in the late 90’s and this song came on in the car my cousin was driving. I automatically loved it. I spent the entire trip trying to find out who it was by singing it lol. So we took a long drive to Skegness and I went down the boardwalk to the record store. When I began to sing the song the guy who worked there said “that’s Paul Weller!” He said the song wasn’t new, and he didn’t have the album. But wouldn’t you know we went to a flea market and I found the tape! I was reminiscing about my trip and I had forgotten the name and singer of this song. It took me forever to find it searching google...but here I am. Takes me back, and is soooooo good! What a voice!!

Weller is a great artist. His best song as far as I'm concerned is "Lazy Man". They lyrics of that song are so powerful, especially the line "...I don't have a plan, I'm a lazy man..." I mean, how many artists have that much honesty to admit they're lazy? More power to the man.
