It was 1982 or 1983, I am sitting in the living room of my Mom's house. (I did not know it then but severe depression had taken hold) someone that I sort of knew came to the door, and making small talk, asked me what I was listening to. I had four albums in my hand. One Peter Green, one Allen Toussaint, and two by The Jam. Music kept me alive. Saved my life . Thanks man. Still here today to hear this and loving it.
I suffer from clinical depression Chris, and You have no idea Weller has brought me back to a steady place. I'm 52 , and been a fan since 82. Live in Chicago, and see him whenever he comes to town.
Jonathan Bance .. yeah no kidding ! Just enjoy the Legend that is PW Warren & rejoice in all aspects of his music that we’ve all been extremely lucky to have been a part of throughout his magical & gifted life !
Been a fan since the days of The Jam and Style Council but especially ever since Paul went solo. Huge music fan here but happy to say that Paul is not only the coolest singer and artist to come out of the UK but simply the Best. His songs have kept me happy since I was a teenager. Keep it up, Paul. Just saw you in concert and wish I had bought more shows in the US. Fantastic and as good, or better, than ever! Paul Weller is the real deal.
@grahamshillingford8229 I believe it. I've seen a lot of great concerts in my days (even the great Van Morrison) but I think this last September Paul Weller show was my favorite. The man always had it! God bless Paul Weller!
Said this before in a few comments relating to the genius of "Paul Weller", and I don' t mind repeating myself... this guy may be the mod father of music... and rightly so :) ..but I also put him personally, in the status of "The Chameleon of Music". Ever changing moods ring a bell!. This fella has consistently reinvented himself musically... and continues to surprise us all with his talents. Long may he reign :)
Weller doesn't get better with age....to be honest he has made a lot of lame solo albums in recent years..he seems to be releasing a new album every 6 months and I just do not bother to keep up anymore..I just went off him as I got older...I love The Jam and In my opinion his last great song was "Mr. Clean" in 1978....The last Weller album I bought was "Wild Wood"......his lame R' an B albums just do not cut it for me...he will never ever be Steve Marriott, Steve Winwood or Curtis Mayfield in my opinion...having said that I LOVE Paul Weller...but sorry he peaked in 1981
Saw The Jam back in 1977, and they were fantastic. Forty-three years later, Paul Weller is still making classy songs. He has nothing left to prove to anybody. Great stuff.
this track just gets better the more you play it , you hear something new in the arrangement with each new listen ,...been a Weller and The Jam fan since 1980 , he sings my whole life to me
We all have Similar happenings in Our Lives which makes this, the Council & my personal favorite, the Jam so Poinent to our Experiences I grew up a Mod with the Jam, the Beat, 60's Psychedelic, etc.
It is wonderful when you realize at a mature age that the childhood sun, air, and trees are actually still the same. Surely distorted and bruised a bit, but all together still alive.
This is the Paul Weller I love. I totally understand he wants to experiment with music. For me over the last 10 years it's been hit or miss. But that's what great about him. He does what feels right for him and his music. This album for me is brilliant. Seen him play live several times and still appreciate the stuff I dont like. That's what music is all about. Cant wait to see you in 2021.
Masterpiece. I sent the song link to my sister in Australia who drives up and down the south coast of NSW with her work, it's now at the top of her drive playlist.
What a beautiful, dreamy song with the melancholy one feels when things are of another time in the past, how life changes, and yet there are still somethings in life, like a sunset in this song to bring joy, i feel like this, i think a lot of people feel their lives belong to another time, at least part of their lives are no longer able to be sustained, time moves on so to speak Thanks, Terri Leckner, Montreal
Journeyed along my life since I was 14, I love driving alone, listening and feeling that we all share a connection..would love to be driving beside someone and hearing them playing his music and give a knowing and appreciative smile
I’ve been listening to and loving Paul since circa 1982 and I’m just simply in awe of how he keeps creating, re-creating and on the latest album, he has produced (what it would seems to be) his best album in over a decade - and this is when I just didn’t ever think he could get better - gosh, he’s good
NATHAN!!! I got so excited when I saw him & this felt so nostalgic and I thought about Nathan & his pops and I was so damn happy watching this. There is a melancholy to all of LA but especially on Sunset. I love the British telly plopped in the 'modern' home with Edward Hopper imagery. Truly brilliant, I can't stop listening... I love this entire album!
Loving this song. Fab video - getting lost in that moon & breeze. Including his family members is a nice, clever touch too. Can't wait to play the vinyl. Thanks Mr Weller. Never disappoints.
Absolutely beautiful, what a positive vibe, this album is different class, blessed to of grown up to Mr P Wellers music. After listening to PW for 40 years, PW continues to excite, amaze, produce, with such a plethora of a back catologue, how on earth does PW continue to produce such magical music? Always spot on and brilliant. One of my all time favorite artist. One of my fav shows was his acoustic show at Town Hall in NYC. Saw Paul walking down Robertson Blvd. earlier this year. Still kicking myself for not chatting him up.
Cool Music. I loved his music in the 80ies and I still love it. Paul is a great songwriter and musician. Wow! Just go on Paul and thanks for your music.

Props to the brilliant orchestration in so many Weller tunes. Truth is, all the songs would stand with just his voice and an acoustic guitar.
