This incredible piece NEVER reached the States (our loss) but when I was in Greece in 2010, someone - can't even remember who now - gave me a copy of this song, which I added to my music library, and, well, naturally, I fell in love with it. I had no idea who Weller was then - I simply pressed the "repeat" button - never got that far then, and only discovered now, now that I am once again in Greece, and while scrounging for other music, came across Long Hot Summer, a live version, that I simply haven't been able to stop listening to. Some time passed before I "saw" the connection and did some simple arithmetic ... I KNEW who Weller was. Though I never knew, I knew who he was. Until I realized I knew that. Now. Another hidden gem, by someone here who said, Weller is one of the most underrated musicians and songwriters we've ever known.
