My tensioner pulley is stuck. I cant get the pulley to release tension on the belt... i sprayed pb blaster and worked it for a long time but its just stuck. What should i do? I appreciate the help
Hi David, that’s a good question. Haven’t had issue like that before. Spray the pb blaster and let it sit for a bit, hope it will loose up a bit. A lot is rust, right?
Hi DP, It’s part of maintenance. 7years or 100k+ miles. Or you can check the belt for micro cracks because of age. I’m glad the video is helpful. Good to connect with you 👍🙌
@@huunwheels7378 Will Microcracks make it loosen? My belts started making noise and just days later, my battery doesn’t charge very well, sound familiar?
@@Joel-bg3cf hi Joel, microcracks show sign of worn belt, but it shouldn't affect the charging. It could be that the alternator/charging generator start failing. I just had a similar problem on another vehicle. Alternator start making whining noise and show low charging output. That could be the issue.
@@huunwheels7378 thanks! I’m in Texas close to Houston. Yea I finally got it. I stuck a small rubber ball the size of a tennis ball and wedged it beside the pulley the belt kept slipping off of. Turns out, the alternator is loose and when I put the belt on it misaligned the alternator pulley and I suspect that’s why my belt slipped off yesterday. So tomorrow I will carefully slip the belt off the alternator and I will check all the bolts on the bracket to see if they are loose so I can push back into place. Thanks!
Hi, this is the external belt, or drive belt. The timing belt or timing chain would be different, have to dissemble more part to get to it. Hope that helps clarify your questions.
My belt just ripped last night. Well it is starting to rip fully so I suspect it will rip off soon… tomorrow I’m going to go buy the belt and wrench and see if this works.. I have a 2012 Honda Accord Ex 4 cylinder so everything should be the same as in this video
Would the 14mm extra combination long wrench work the same as the wrench you’re using? The 14mm combination wrench I found has the open end on one side and the box end on the other side, but yours has two boxed ends
@@huunwheels7378 hi I fixed it today! Everything works great! Thanks for this video! I rented a tensioner tool to loosen the pulley so i didn’t get the wrench... but last night I got off work to remove the power steering reservoir out the way so I can be ready for today., but When I lifted the reservoir up it snapped with a piece still stuck in the hose, so I had to buy a new reservoir and put that back on after putting the new belt back on lol it has been a trying morning but I got it all done in about 2hrs
This was the best video I saw you taught me how to do this to my wife's car thank you

Would a ratcheting 14mm box wrench be better?
@@prescriptionoatmeal7970 that would work. I saw Other techs used ratchet box wrench. I just happened to use regular box end. 😊
Can you do mine. It keeps slipping off pulleys for an hour so I’m done
I wish I would be able to help. Where are you from? Take a quick break and retry it. You got it, brother 🙌

Quick question to make the belt lose you pull the wrench toward you? But you also pull it towards you to tighten too?
It’s an auto tensioner , so you don’t have to tighten, friend.
