Welcome back to another Product review, this week we are looking into portable camping gas hot showers. I will be comparing my Companion Aqua Heat and Aqua Cube to the Flash new Joolca HOTTAP.

Ours got stolen from our car crash crime scene, so the draw is on pause till we do d out what's happening with insurance. Sorry 😔
Just brought a camper trailer to get the kids and wife out bush. Loved the comparison you did. Would be great to hose the kids down with hot water after a day of playing in the bush and getting feral so my new pride and joy does’t get to dirty on the inside. Keep up the good info you are getting out there to us beginners out there. 🤟👌

Thank for the comment, I can tell you these are 100% worth the money best camp shower we have had.
Sadly ours was stolen from the car crash site so this give away has been put on pause while we wait to find out about insurance 😡
Is there way to to put a bigger shower head on then save running to get wet .lol
G'day mate. bit late to the party here but glad I've come across your video none the less. I was looking at SAN HIMA Portable Gas Hot Water Heater System 8L because its bloody cheap but I am now heavily leaning towards this fella. It's up there in price compared to what I can get the San Hima or Companion aquaheat for but hopefully earns it back by just being a better unit.

G'Day mate, hands down wort it's weight in Gold 🪙 way better then an other shower I've used. They now make a power pack for the pump as well to make it full off grid. Lete know your thoughts after you get it.

I was thinking on adding a recirculation system for those extra cold mornings as to not waste any water before it gets hot.
I’m just starting to set up my ute for camping, would love to have one of these, and to use on my horses too 😁

Awesome product mate. Would love to win this. I used to have a different brand of shower but it wasnt as easy to operate as this one and it packed up on me after 18mths.
Nothing worse then when you outlay all that money and the products don't last.

Yeah joolca looks the goods, I would be making the hoses as short as possible and maybe even narrower, I know they say don’t do it but I would mount it to the front of the canopy and just use it with the doors open.
Hey mate, very little heat coming out of them I reckon you could mount in a canopy as long as plenty of airflow. Why would you want to make the hoses shorter though? Flow and pressure is amazing.
My wife bought me a capanion shower and I think I’m going to return it as I’ve been looking at joocla for ages cheers

Thank you for the comment, we are still going to be giving one of these camp showers away, but sadly ours was stolen from the car crash crime scene. We are waiting on insurance to find out what we are going to get paid back for.

Watched your first video on the Aquaheat as i am looking at grabing one. What went wrong with it? I originally was looking at the Joolca but the Aquaheat looks a little more portable...shame about the fittings and hose quality. I was going to connect it straight into the 100ltr undertray water tank with pressure pump. The regulator you mentioned in the other video could be a ball valve to reduce the flow maybe. Thanks for the info on both.
G'Day mate, do not buy the Aquaheat! The Joolca is miles better in every way. I don't believe they make the water pressure regulator any more, that means if you connect it up to a higher pressure pump the water will be colder.
My Aquaheat computer module froze and only way to fix it was to send it away for repair. So I just took it back for a refund.
As far as portable goes, if you don't go the kitchen set up Joolca they actually aren't to bad for size.
Thanks for this review, but still deciding what type of hot water shower system we want for camping... we have a camper trailer and a single shower/toilet tent...
I can 100% back the Joolca, after now having it for almost a year I can not tell you how much better it is then everything else on the market. I like to be clean when I go camping and the campaign just didn't have the pressure to do that. Where the Joolca we have no issues.

Glad you enjoyed it, Make sure to check out our Aquaheat review. In my opinion there really only is 2 good camp showers on the market. Just depends what's more important, size and convenience or water temp and pressure.
If size go the Aquaheat, if pressure then the Joolca.

@@Off.Track4x4 Thanks……..both have really good features! But the one thing we like about the Joolca is the option to throw the hose into a lake or river….super handy. Appreciate being put in the draw too!
The thing I like about companion is the fact that it can stand on it’s own because the fittings are on the side
Hello Bec that was a handy feature take it out of the bag and it's pretty much ready to go. But I'd still pick the Joolca for its build quality and extra water pressure
@@Off.Track4x4Does that extra water pressure also mean the water goes faster? Because if you're next to a body of clean enough water that's great but if you have a finite amount of water, the water goes fast. My 5 gallon bucket bag gives me a 3.5min shower. How long would I have with the same amount of water?

do you have to use the gas connection for this o work? especially if you only need cold water
If you just wanted cold water you would just use the pup on its own and bypass the unit 👍😊

Yeah definitely alot heavier, especially if you go the kit with the sink, very heavy has to be over 25kgs.
Joolca still wins in my opinion, build quality is just so much better.

If you don’t measure you can’t manage.
I need to know what the ambient water temperature was going into the Joolka -what temperatures were coming out after being heated at the different settings and to genuinely compare that with the previous unit you used to use.

This draw will still be drawn it's just on pause for the time being. Ours was stolen from the crash crime scene under the police nose. So we are waiting to see what will happen with insurance before drawing.

Hello Darren, honestly after having the Joolca I could not suggest any other unit. They are just to far above the rest in build quality and function. You will not be disappointed 👍

Its a great product but the Hottap just doesn't get hot enough. Mine has never got above 37 degrees.
I had two now, first one was very hot the one I have now is no where near as hot. But I gets the Joolca has such a high flow right it will be coolder then other companies.
Trying to coax my wife that camping isn’t bad by telling her I can give her hot showers every night freebie would be sick to prove that too her 😂🤙
