Best ad ever. And, I'm gonna buy one of these, ASAP! I've literally been struggling between the idea of a cassette toilet and making my own composting toilet with a 5 gallon bucket for my overland setup. You just solved my "gotta go" problem! Cheers!
The GottaGo is really well designed. I have a Boxio and it works, but not so great on bumpy roads. When I saw the GottaGo, I had to have one for my box truck. I will still secure it to keep it from bouncing around but I will know I won’t have a giant mess if the toilet comes loose.
Best. Advert. Ever. Great mix of science and humor that I’ve seen in a while! Definitely upgrading to one of these toilets. Why wouldn’t you?!? 😝 . 😂😂😂😂
Like most others: best ad video ever - great explanation of operation and super-entertaining as well! I have Joolca saved in my SUV Camping gear list for the Hottap but as I've not been sure if I will enjoy SUV Camping ... downsizing from a 33 foot, 2 slide, all mod cons Winnebago ... I have held off until I give the SUV thing a few tries. I bought an inexpensive ($29) collapsible bucket type toilet to start with and had an expensive composting option on my future list ... THEN saw this and bought with the preorder price! I think it is perfect size and functionality - bought the eco version!
Hands down the best video on portapotty I've seen. Makes me just wanna buy one. Now, if it just comes with an ultra comfortable backpack-styled shoulder straps...
Ordered mine the day the sale started. Besides a small generator, this was the final piece that I needed for my overland kit. I already have the Nomad kit, 2 room ensuite, and shower base. I looked at compost, chemical, and bucket systems, but knew this was coming, so I waited. So glad I waited...order this and both cartridges, just in case. Thank you, Joolca. Too bad I will get it well after camping season starts, but hey, bears shit in the woods today, right?
Couple questions for use on a boat: Anyway to secure the base (obviously important on a boat), and in regards composting, could you not use a combo of the bag with the composting medium so that it is all "one & done" when it comes time for disposable?
Hey there! The toilet mount is still in the works, and we'll update our website once everything is all set! The bag cassette also doubles as compost. So you can switch them up when there is a need. 🙂
Hi! The toilet’s dimensions are 380 W x 420 D x 430 H mm (14.9 x 16.5 x 16.9 inches), which works best for most users. Could you let me know what the ideal size would be? I’d love to share it with the team for future consideration! 🙂
If you use it as a compost toilet (into wood chip etc) the hole looks too small to allow you to poo without it hitting the side of the bowl before it falls in to the bucket below. So that means you’ve go to clean the bowl with some kind of liquid every time your use it which seems to miss the point of a dry toilet. If I’m completely wrong please tell me, but the hole for the poop much smaller than every other separator toilet I’ve seen. Other than that concern I think your toilet looks great. I hope you’re going to say I’m wrong and it’s been tested to not hit the bowl before it falls in to the bucket below
Hi there! The solid opening is 100 H x 90 W mm (3.9 x 3.5 inch) and you're right, you'd need to wipe it with toilet paper (using the poker stick) and keep it clean by spraying a small amount of your preferred disinfectant or a simple water and vinegar solution. 🙂
I was hoping I was wrong as the toilet looks great but having to clean poop from the bowl every time is not good. If the hole had been made bigger with a straight drop to the container below then you wouldn’t need to clean off poop from the bowl, this is a major oversight and such a shame as everything else looks great. If that’s redesigned then I think it will be more popular, (especially if you have kids, you’d have to clean away their poop too) but with the current design it’s a no from me …sorry!! @@Joolca
Hi @@pianok6626, as a porta pottie I agree that this is great because they often use water to flush anyway, but as a dry/composting toilet you don’t use any water/liquid in the solids area, and that’s what prevents the smell. The design of the hole in a compost toilet allows for the poop to drop without making any mess. So as a wet toilet this is brilliant but as a dry/composting toilet I don’t think it’s so good, which is a shame as I think that it’s a brilliant design apart from that one (quite important) thing.
If you drop down the dialogue/menu under the video, (by clicking on the "v" down arrow and expanding, or clicking "more"), there's a link to the joolca website. Hope this helps!
Show how to empty urine. Does it have valve too? Hole kinda small. Ur gonna get poop all around the hole and have to clean it or itll smell. Doesnt matter if u have valve. The residual poop arouns the hole gonna smell. U should offer a liner so poop hits the liner and then altogether slips into the hole.
I thought the hole looked too small for a compost/ separator type toilet. Every other one I’ve seen had a larger hole. Apart from that I thinks it’s really good, but that hole size definitely concerns me.
Hi! The GottaGo toilet comes in two versions: the chemical and the eco (bag and compost). These cassettes are interchangeable, so you can order both cassettes for the same toilet. 🙂
Does the toilet come with a base where it can be fixed inside the vehicle as to not move around permanently. Self contained vehicles must have a fixed toilet soon in NZ. I do like this toilet though.
If you screw some angle aluminum to the floor..and have it attached to the toilet sides by some strong foam double sided tape. That should work. The type of strong tape sogn writers use. You can get similar at bunnings etc
The indicator only works with the Chemical Cassette, as the waste is broken down into a slurry and fills the cassette uniformly. I'll take note of this and share it with the team! 🙂
That must be the prototype. Most participants chose light grey so that's what we are rocking right now. We'll update our website in the future if we have plans to release one in white! 🙂
Thank you for you reply, the white looked really nice and very modern, I really think you should offer both as it matches so many camper shower/ toilet cubicles… plus it makes it look more like your toilet at home. @@Joolca
What is the measurement of the handle on the right side of the gottago when you open it to poop? I already have a cabinet for my porta potti but I would like to pre order it.

I'm highly skeptical that having a poo pushing stick and spray bottles is preferable to a flushing toilet. Who wants a stick with poo on the end hanging from the side of a toilet. Not to mention, if you stow it in your car, you now have to figure out where to stow a poo stick...Seems like an odd design choice. I'll have to wait and see how the reviews shake out. An additional suspicion of mine is with regard to younger children. It seems unlikely that a two hole system would be easy to maintain. Again, I'll have to wait and see.
I appreciate the feedback and understand what you mean. The idea behind this is we want to separate solids from liquids (mixing these causes odour to develop). To clean the toilet, we recommend wrapping the poker stick with toilet paper to make it less messy and dumping it together with the solid waste. This is a new product and we're keen to hear more feedback! 🙂
@ would like to see development of a multi use, multi function cassette (one size fits all so to speak) So it covers all 3 options without the need for a spare cassette
@@Joolca Thanks for the reply; we really enjoy all of our other Joolca products. I thought about wrapping it in tp too as I considered how the push stick would actually cleanly work. Since it's a new concept to deal with our most dirty business, I guess I'll have to wait and see how it work for people IRL. Seems like the TP would stick to the stick with a bit of moisture. Then you have to try and grab a corner of the paper and hope it doesn't rip as you unstick the stick. I don't know, I suppose you all would have run it through appropriate tests though. Still sounds like risky business. Again, I'll wait and see on this one. We dig the hot tub though :)
@Joolca the best solution it will be to make a cover type (paper) to cover the whole poop area and when you finish just push it inside the hole! And more money for you for the replacements....
