    Redarc panels are well underrated on there specs i see 7.5 amp outta my 120w. Mate see 12amp outta his 200w. So mayb before slamming a Australian company u should have a look. U tested the kings and found its over spec. What's to say there all not

      Hey Jeremy, I've pinned a comment apologising, had a chat to a sparky and it's very hard to compare panels with out putting them side by side. I stand by my comments about redarc they are ripping us off blind! Plenty other Australia companies making stuff for half what they do. Not a fan of companies ripping people off.

      @Off.Track4x4 ive tried a few different panels on my roof and I can tell u my redarc panels have performed by far the best for the size. I don't know any Australian company making what they do even at the same price let alone half of it.

    Hey everyone 👋 Just want to highlight an error I made in this video, unfortunately the channel is not big enough yet to buy all these solar panels and test them in real life, so I rely on specifications. Solar panels unfortunately can't be compared by doing this. I am happy to own this error and am always looking to grow my knowledge to help you all out.

    You missing the most important figures, the open circuit voltage. Max Amps alone doesn’t tell the whole story

    • @Off.Track4x4
      @Off.Track4x4 14 годин тому

      Hey Phil, thanks for the comment and watching. I've just pinned a comment I ran everything by a sparky and even adding in voltage doesn't tell the whole picture, watts is the power but Amps is the size of the current delivering that power. Only way for me to see which panel wins is putting them side by side in real life.

    Reviewing the Kings but comparing the specs with other brands is not a true review on build or performance. Some panels perform better than others when the sun is on an oblique angle, some builds are better than others, some have coated glass which are easier to clean and maintain. Some will perform better than others when in partial shade. These are the real world reviews I like to see, but it's all good. Thanks for putting this all together.

      Hey mate, thanks for watching and commenting 🙂 I'd love to do a side by side comparison, unfortunately right now the chanel isn't big enough yet to afford that. Fingers crossed in time that's my dream 😁 For now I'm stuck with figures, I do have a great sponsord video coming up with a side by side comparison of two brands 👍

    Nice Banner I’m not sure you are giving all the information that is necessary. The max power (amp) x max volts (v) should be = to the advertised panel watt. This is what the maximum input into a MPPT should be. The MPPT output to the battery gets converted from panel Volts to the voltage that is okay for your battery The redarc panel, having higher panel voltage, lower power (amp) does have some advantages. But for the price of 5 x Kings solar panels, the price to performance isn’t close. I usually shit at explaining myself, so hope you understand what I’m getting at.

    • @Off.Track4x4
      @Off.Track4x4 3 дні тому

      G’Day Gary, Thanks for watching this weeks videos 😊 I’m a little confused, so are you saying the Redarc will let out more Amps to the battery because it’s a bigger Wattage? My understanding was the short circuit cut off is the max that will ever come from the panel into your battery? I’ve never had a panel go over the short circuit rating.

      @@Off.Track4x4 looking at the Kings solar panel numbers on the box. Voltage at pmax (18.24) x Current at pmax (8.77) = watts (159.96). This is what the solar panel can be putting into your MMPT. Say you are topping up your hardkorr lithium battery, still in bulk mode, the MPPT will reduce the panel volts from 18.24v to let say 14.00, going into the battery. With the reduced volts, current is increased to 11.4, so that the amount of power going into battery is still 160 watts. This is the best that I can explain it. I know that I have used the wrong terms, (power and current are not the same thing), so I am sure someone else will be able to explain it better. Or maybe my understanding is completely wrong :) That could also be very true :)😊

    No disrespect intended but I'd like to call out a couple of things. Internal bluetooth monitors are inaccurate when compared to a shunt based monitor. Specifying life cycles without the depth of discharge means very little. Glad to hear you haven't had any issues with the product not that I'm alluding to the brand being unreliable however there are better value batteries from other Oz companies who build their batteries (Not referring to Kings or iTech). Thanks for sharing

    • @Off.Track4x4
      @Off.Track4x4 6 днів тому

      Hey mate, thanks for watching and sharing your feed back 😊 My understanding is the Bluetooth inside the battery is the same as a shunt it's just one step earlier then the terminal. I've been given an Aussie built battery that I'm able to open when I do my review so we will get to see in that battery how the Bluetooth is weird up. Agreed their is some great Aussie batteries coming through, I am now being offered them to review so you will get to see them soon 😊

    • @cyclemoto8744
      @cyclemoto8744 5 днів тому

      @@Off.Track4x4 Have never heard of a inbuilt shunt as part of the internal BMS and bluetooth. There's a lot of material on the net regarding this topic and I'm yet to come across any batteries (at the price point which we're discussing :) ) which are able to monitor the power usage as accurately as an external system. Of course, you can always add an external shunt later if you feel the need. My point was to highlight that internal monitoring isn't worth the additional cost compared to external, in my opinion. Cheers.

I'm assuming you didn't actually watch the video and just thought I was saying the fridge was good? I don't accept money to do reviews, I am happy to be sent products after I look at the specs, if I think they are worth reviewing, I then test the products and if it's shit send back if they are good quality I'll do a review, but I all ways point out the good and bad. I loose money doing this channel so why would I do it if I was going to lie? Whole point is to help people.

    This fridge for the price is an disaster. Impossible to keep food in the fridge or freezer at safe food storage temperatures whatever the weather. I installed a fan, fitted 6.5mm insulbreak insulation to the entire cabinet and added another external fan blowing on the compressor...nothing worked. Bushman were great though so don't want to bag out the fridge to much as i may just have got a dud. They tried to help in every way and even took it to a dealer who re-gassed it. The NRX fridge is a disaster compared to the CRX. The CRX was repairable by fitting a digital temperature controller. The NRX is expensive faulty failure and to date Dometic are no help. The fridge either freezes the cabinet or the freezer is under safe food storage temperatures. The cheaper fridges with some modification work better and can keep proper food storage temperatures.

When I worked at TJM we would provide a different warranty if mounting the HD air compressor under the bonnet, it could technically handle being under the bonnet but it was not happy and dramaticly shortened the life span. In my eyes that means it should not go under the bonnet, same for every lithium battery, just because it can doesn't mean they should. Does that make sense? I don't know Just my thoughts 😊

I understand that the performance of most blankets or matt's tend to drop away quickly with time so I don't know if there is a better choice. A glass panel longevity is best if you can have one understand that won't work with camping in a tent, I have a caravan now so not an issue for me thanks for your video

    I have a kings 200w blanket and get around 4amps and 100w from it in full North Queensland Sun, angled to collect maximum sunlight. Took back 3 others that performed even worse than this and gave up on them. A sales person at kings has told me the kings 200w blanket is their most returned item. My son bought me the Hardkorr 200w blanket which initially worked well but after about 2 years of part time use its struggling to the point where I'm lucky to get 3-4amps and 100 or so watts from it. Im camping again for 4 days this weekend and will be putting the Hardkorr to the test with my set up along with two other campers set ups to see what's happening. You are spot on with the need to get a good MPPT with Kings solar panels. I have previously had the Kings 200w blankets about 7 years ago. What you get when they are brand new compared with what you get 6 months later, is greatly reduced. But when comparing $ per amp output, they are still great value. I have then bought 2 x HardKorr 200w with crocskin solar panels. I was disappointed, both panels had delaminated very early, only getting about half of what they are rated for. My current set up, I have double the lithium battery capacity and just rely on dc-dc chargers. This works for me

    Hey mate, I've just got myself one and after playing with it there are some things that I feel should have been mentioned. 1. The door latches will need adjusting. Mine let the door open 8mm and wouldn't hold the door closed enough for the whole fridge seal to well... seal. 2. Only the bottom latch is adjustable. So once adjusted all the load is only on that bottom latch, how this fairs for longevity, time will tell. 3. That travel lock is useless. It, in no way stops the door from being opened if the handle is lifted. You can even lift it while it's "blocking" it. A physical interference latch would have been better. Finally as far as doors fittings/setups go, it gets beat out by a cheaper brand but wins back for its insulation vs said cheaper fridges. I hope it doesn't let me down in any other aspect or I will be ropeable.

      Hello Liam, if your fridge is not staying closed by the seal it's self, take it back under consumer law and swap it. No adjustments should need to be made. Mine you can not keep it open, you would have to wedge something in-between the steal and fridge to do so. It have a tiny amount of play but the steal is to strong on this new model. If yours isn't like that take it back as their is a problem with the seal.
