I have had my DK2 for 3 weeks now, and I am really happy with the purchase. The level of detail in the motion and vibration is really good. I run iRacing in VR and this system makes the car so much more alive.
@jonesyterp You can drive fast on any rig, even with an old G25 wheel. But the better feedback you get from a good wheel and a good motion system, the easier it will be to react to what the car is doing. Especially in a race when you go outside off your optimal race line to pass someone or driving at the limit with different track state and temperatures. DK 2 give you fast and exact feedback with movement and vibration. If you ask me I feel it give me an advantage. And driving with VR and motion takes the virtual reality another step closer to actually feel that you drive a racecar. ;)
@jonesyterp Cool. The MECAs look good. I use the VRS pedals. It really help to get a harder and more accurate pedal. If you are a bit curious about the DK2 you should send Sigma Integrale a email. They are really helpful ;)
Steffen please ..dbox has also a haptic feedback so Its also acting like transducers not only making pitch roll but also providing u to feel surfaces shakes bumps ..does this system have this ability also ?
@@marsinko9714 Yes. As i understand it, it can produce vibration up to 1000hz. It works really good, I feel the surface and vibration in the car. Wow I want one so bad. I'm paralyzed from a bad car accident and don't have use of my legs. I'm currently working on designing hand controls for gas and brake. Having a motion system would just blow my mind. Anyway really enjoy your videos. You definitely know your stuff.
This looks like a very nice product with good potential. Software and compatibility will get updated, it looks super easy to setup and get going. Very interesting, if the DK2 guys are reading this... I really hope you introduce smoothing per slider option, in your next release. From the looks of it, these are super accurate, high precision, fast as hell actuators, which is great for road texture, but horrible for roll and gas/brake actions which aren't as sharp. Smoothing should help with the ball screw noise too... This maybe a dumb question; I'm curious why these guys don't just work to integrate with SimFeedback software?
looks like they added the smoothing per sliders! buddy of mine got their system and the ball screw noise on this nothing like what you hear on the review. at least 2 folds quieter
another well executed video. I am thinking, with so many different movers, that it would be a great vid if you went thro the options as it can get very confusion due to so much choice?
Seems like it’s competing with DBOX system. This needs more hardware stroke and software compatibility. The sim industry needs to standardize on protocols like EtherNetIP and CANBus (automobile and industrial sectors already use these) so endusers don’t have to worry about hardware/software interoperability or being stuck with a proprietary system. If the sim accessory industry wants to grow further, they need to conform to a common standard.
Do you think it’s okay to have the monitors stationary or do they need to be mounted to the rig for a good experience? I’ve heard people saying they should be mounted and it has me a little worried about spending so much!
@Conner Murphy little tip when asking a question on a channel with many comments if it doesn't do it automatically put @Sim Racing Garage for instance so he sees it as a message not just a comment
Unfortunately he doesn't have time to answer questions up here BUT if you email him I'm sure he would be happy to answer your question..I always send him a small amount of money just to show my appreciation
You could actually see the car shake in the video align better with the motion rig as you adjusted the settings down. I've been considering a motion rig but I'm still concerned about how pitch/roll will create incorrect head inertia compared to driving a real car. Sure the motion rig is moving correctly according to the suspension but, for example, under braking the majority of the force would have your head move forward where as in this case with the rig pitching downward your head would actually move backward. @SimRacingGarage I would love to hear your perspective on this
@@bystander85 the DK2 system is more direct feedback u feel, none of there motion code is fabricated, it’s generated from all real time sim physics, it’s more of a raw hardcore system than DBOX, with the DBOX it’s good but allot of the feedback is fabricated from effect based motion, I think the DBox is a better overall entertainment system for doing different applications, but for driving simulation the DK2 cannot be beat!
