    Always great to add another DD to the mix of what to purchase!

    I don't think much can beat the VRS wheel base currently. Unless you want to spend more for an SC2 Pro.

      First time with the vrs I got a work out but enjoy the detail and my wife likes how quiet it is. It’s amazing though.

    Oo a new DD cool, Is there also a list somewhere where you have everything listed as the best and worst in your experience and want to have, I don't mind spending money but I think you have tested one of the most so that experience is important to me , I think the IMM Source 17 Nm ETS 5 seems like a good deal to me, Again thanks info Barry

    Ok, so i have my SC2 pro on 30% in sims usualy. This should be 7,5 nm. Is this base overkill
    For me then? Should i go look for something like a csl dd or Moza then? I have a 270 mm wheel and anything more feels to heavy.

      He won't do one because there's no need for Fanatec to pay him to do it.
      There's a reason he's only been doing off brand stuff of late. They're paying him for publicity.

      Why pay him for a review when you can get other "content creators" to push your products through the affiliate program? Don't be fooled bro, fanatec spends a fortune in affiliate marketing to be promoted so heavily. You can disagree with Barry's monetisation strategy, but bear in mind that no one does this for free.

      I think it might be because it’s only 8nm. He’s mentioned in a recent video that for him 9/10 is the bare minimum entry level for him on direct drives, could be part of the reason. Could be wrong of course.

      Apparently Immsource bases also work on Playstation when a licensed joy-pad is connected to one of the USB ports on the back. They've made how-to videos about it. (I don't own one, so can't verify it.)

    I really like how sim racing equipment got a lot of new manufacturers in recent years. From DDs to Pedals. Just a couple of years ago, you had Fanatec and their average DD1/2 and their shitty V3 pedals. If you wanted something better, price went up 2-4 times (Simucube & Heusinkveld for example). Now, we have Moza R9, SiMagic 10nm, Immsource, Fanatec DD 0.5 (I was very disappointed with DD 0.5. Peak force is there when you go over kerbs, but holding force in long corners is just not there). On Pedals side, oh boy. DC, Bj, Girro, Asetek Forte, Moza CRP,... are all in the price range of Fanatec V3, but they are all better offerings IMO.

    • @alpha007org
      @alpha007org 2 роки тому

      @@halfbreed02 As long as you are happy. I bought DD 0.5 and got it in the "third wave". I had wheel disconnects every day, shifting problems, FFB problems,... I couldn't even finish a 20min race. Had to send the unit back. But issues never went away. It got so bad (their customer support answering every second week) I had to "trigger" EU customer protection laws to get my money back.

      You need the CSL DD PRO for PlayStation compatibility, just having the GT wheel won't make it PS compatible (the compatibility chip is inside the wheel only for Xbox, for PS it's inside the wheel base).

    Thanks for the video i have a more general question regarding Direct Drive power consumption example on the Simagic Alpha Mini the power brick that it came with has 216 watt on it. Does this mean only peak power or does that thing draws 216 watt continuesly? Reason im asking i pay my own electricity bill going to volentary pay 15 eur a month extra just to cover the cost of this and my pc. Has some one tested the power draws on these DD's or if some one can chime in and let me know how much DD's consume while gaming. Thx in advance

    • @mrdoopesense2198
      @mrdoopesense2198 2 роки тому

      It will draw as much as it needs in certain moments , it wont stay at max , but say u draw 200 watt all time ( i suppose u based in uk , u probably on 35p a kw so u need to use the wheel 5 hours to spend that 35pence lets put it this way , 5 hours daily is 35 p a day in 30 days u spend around 10 £ if u use it 5 hours a day wich is crazy as u probably use it way lesd then that.
      If u avarage using it 1 hour a day for every day of the month u will end un spending around 2 -3 £ a month.
      So yea it wont make a big diference , use carefully the boiler the oven stuff like that wich are the real consumers and dont listen to the wife compaling about ur wheel bringin the eletricity bill up 😛

      Yes, but ...
      "Sim-plicity" also makes a mige of 10 nm....the difference is that if you want more torque afterwards....you just change the controller and nothing more.

      @@zzmadd Wireless steering wheels of 500 euros and more are a "financial trap" .... and this regardless of the brand.
      Why do you want to go absolutely in this direction, when a used steering wheel, or even new, from thrusmaster or fanatec is half of it, plus a wired system??
      Look at the setups barry is testing for us and look at his personal setup...how many wireless steering wheels does he have??
      Configurations will always be expensive, if the buyer does not look elsewhere.

    • @THESHADOW97139
      @THESHADOW97139 2 роки тому

      @@zzmadd A complete DD will always cost 1000 euros and more (except fanatec) .... changing the couple is like reselling your equipment (or keeping it) to get a new one ... whereas with a mige, you just have to change the controller (which costs much less).
      And that's mostly where I wanted to go
