@@nanopanda the point is to make them collector when a brand has a collector doll it will be more thought after and ppl will wake up and be o the site when it drops its not unfair that someone didn't get a doll and its not the brands fault they can't stop resellers and ,Mattel and mag tried to to but no matter what the brands get the money so they really don't care and also if resellers get the doll the price will go down bc they don't want to keep them the second hand market is pretty cheap bc of resellers and we can see with pennywise and the Grady twins what it look like when collectors resell there dolls
I have the answer for that! They didn't sell to scalpers at all. They posted the item, limited to 1, 3 or 4 captchas, and tried their hardest to put in blocks for bots but hackers exist so they can't really be stopped. MGA didn't sell to hackers, hackers just hacked. They didn't sell more because of licensing issues. It's limited because that's how licensing works. Everyone keeps acting like it was a personal attack. Nope, just too limited for the fanbase and people with high tech kinda suck for the sake of financial gain. They're overrun with stock on ebay and people aren't giving in so the price is almost at the Canadian price (we had to pay a Border premium, $130 total)
Every Barbie Collector in the States was really upset because she was shown on Creation for $35 and increased the price to $45 just a couple days later. They should have kept the price $35. Since her face is on four dolls. Not buying her because of the price mistake (Riley)
While I understand that frustration. $45 is still a good price considering designer fee, articulation and quality clothing. The clothing alone they would sell for $25-30 in a pack.
I was so angry about the false price at the reveal of the Styled By Barbie (45 instead of 35) and bought her nonetheless… 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🫣 And the cute Fashion Zribute Doll, Diwali… Sigh! 😫 And currently is Integrity Toys Convention, I was so lucky to get myself one cuuuute Poppy for a fair price - the scalpers are already selling them on eBay. I think the Barbie movie inspired doll collecting. I also collect Monster High and American Girl. I know the stress! But I try to just relax and remember this is supposed to be fun!

I bought the Diwali doll, the Carlyle Nuera doll, and the Maeve Reilly doll, and now I can't buy anything else if I want to have a nice Christmas. The way these doll drops are coming one after another has really been insane, I can't imagine many collectors being able to afford every doll.

Based on the wsy, Mattel had been doing pre-order on everything lately I feel like there's some production problems that doll manufacturers are dealing with right now. Also,I feel like Barbie underestimated the sales increase their movie would boost the doll industry. Supply and demand... Is something they're probably struggling to figure out right now. I have been resisting all the new dolls. I did by the Hocus Pocus Skullector. I was not going to by the Squid Games doll because I never watched the show (I know, shocking). But as I thought about it, oranger and yellow are my favorite colors so I caved in and got her. I was late on the day of release but she had not sold out.

I’m pleased to say I won’t be purchasing any of the newly released dolls. While some of these dolls are nice, none of them speaks to me. I’m proud of myself for not being enticed to buy.
I wanted the Maeve Reilly doll only because I love the Andra face. I’m not sophisticated so I can’t appreciate the style of her clothes. Then they bumped the price up by $10, which isn’t a good deal for me to be paying for just a body. The budget Barbie necklace is an insult. I think I have a thousand of that exact necklace. So I will pass on this one.
