Arjen- I love today's video. The only doll in this group that is worth what is being asked of it (in my opinion) is the BFMC Sapphire 65th Anniversary Silkstone doll. She looks sooo chic and sophisticated in the blue. Yeah, she is worth the $$$$$.

The Kristi Yamaguchi doll is so darn cute! I bought one of the children’s books she wrote and packaged it up with her doll and plan to donate it to a toy drive. This is just one of those very special dolls that I think little kids would treasure. And the book I read is cute, funny, and inspiring. Love it! ❤
Same...I keep my Silkstones in their boxes. I am planning on getting a second-hand Silkstone doll just so I can play and dress her up. I NEED to get the Gemstone Barbie as I have the first two in the series and really want to complete this set. She is so beautiful! I heard someone say that the Ken Kouture line was canceled due to poor sales. Is that really true? NGL I was super excited for it; I really wanted to see if the Sean mold was going to make a comeback. I missed out on Looks Sean and it's been killing me to see how much he's worth now AAHHHRRGG.
I do love the Vintage looking dolls, and the Asian pink doll. I’m hoping at some point soon to be able to get a few of these. I’m beyond happy that Mattel brought back these Silkstone vintage looking dolls 💗💗🌸

I also bought the Swirl Ponytail and display her in-box. She’s so beautiful! I think Mattel is returning to a better level of quality, and can’t wait until you get the new Maeve Reilly doll! 😊
I have The Pink Collection No 3 & No 5 & I absolutely love them both but No 5 is my favourite her outfit is just beautiful . I love anything pink so was drawn to them when I spotted them on the Toy Dip website & both were reduced in price I couldn’t resist getting them . 1 year younger than Barbie myself I love 3 of the more expensive dolls they had this year, Sapphire, Skipper and Swirl Pony! I purchased all 3 I found their price, overall face / hair look and accessories beautiful. I am a Barbie 59 club/Barbie signature member so I can at least have a try at buying something I love first before it is sold elsewhere. Many other collector dolls still available but I don't find the cost/value of them calling my name. Everyone should buy what pleases them, that way no regrets in spending. I love playline & collector but always have a budget which helps as so many beauties to pick from. P.S. Pink collection #5 is my only Pink collection doll and I absolutely think this doll is gorgeous! Love all you do XO

I really like some of the new 2024 Collector Barbie Dolls i love The Ken one and i loved The Blonde Silkstone and Blue Saphire Silkstone Barbie doll also loved that pink addition of that Asian Barbie and also really like The Figure Skating Barbie Doll i do think that some of them are worth it especially like the collector editions made now

Barbie is an Icon period, yes we collectors have been let down a bit over the past years, but I can see a change with the latest dolls we getting they won't compare to the Barbie we know of yesteryears, but that's what makes them even more special to collect. It's generational and things change not always for the better, but there is a slight improvement. I like some of the dolls that are being released right now, not a fan of the price! that's a lot of pole dancing for me LOL (just kidding) I would buy them if I could that's for sure. I love the posable silkstone body the only thing I would change is the torso to the original shape and her wrist articulation because it’s quite limited mobility compared to monster high etc in terms of wrist movement but that’s about it💖✌🏻
Several of my collector friends did not like Ken Couture. I didn't, either, until I got him. I rebodied him onto a Made to Move body and it makes all the difference! His legs are just a tiny bit shorter, enough so you don't see his ankles peeking between his pants and shoes. The shoes are kinda great. You can balance him without a stand in those shoes--though maybe the MTM body helps that as well. I need the Pink doll, too. She's so pretty. I took some time off from Barbie when I was collecting another doll line, so I'm trying to catch up on what I missed. It's expensive! But I think I need this doll. Back me up, Arjen. I need the doll, right? 😉
While I could see the Handsome Squidward complaint, I still thought he was good looking. There is nothing wrong with bigger lips. I also gave him a made to move body. His clothing was redistributed, he got to keep the jacket. The clothes alone make him worth it.

It's REALLY weird that they didn't use a Native American face for the turquoise Barbie as everyone knows how sacred turquoise is to many tribes. Very, very strange choice. Does anyone think about turquoise & not know how important it is to them? My only other complaint is that they all have the same boring straight hair texture. Otherwise, perfect collection! I'm definitely picking up the 1st Ken of color. Blue with darker skin is going to look fabulous.

Kristi Yamaguchi doll is very adorable! And yes, the Barbie Gemstone Fantasy doll is mesmerizing, and I also like her hair colour too. I got her last year. Quite surprised to see she is still available on the Mattel Creations website. Maybe this line will not be continued.

I love turquoise but I was so torn with the burgundy in her hair😢 I just was not a fan and I didn’t get her. I love everything else though. I think it comes and goes with Mattel. They do have such a wide range to cover so maybe that’s also part of it🤷♀️ I love the last 2 pink collection dolls and hope to add the Ken one day
I'm sorry I missed out on the last Pink Collection: she sold out faster than I thought she would. Also, I thought I might get the sapphire BFMC, but she's gone too. I might get the blonde one in the black gown because I like her better, but I think the increased price isn't justified. In general, I like most of the collector Barbies coming out now, but I feel the prices are too high for many of them. So, I'm buying, but not as much.
Barbie, just like life in general, has gotten more expensive unfortunately 😒 So you gotta be picky on what girls to add to your collection now, i’m focused more on adding more 90s legends to mine ☺️
The new dolls are really lovely. I wanted, but skipped buying the turquoise Barbie... and all the others you showed. Though I still may get a Holiday doll because I love a plaid holiday gown. I just can't keep buying dolls on and on, but unfortunately they still tempt me. Which they wouldn't if they were seriously going downhill. Yes, things have changed, but I still like a lot of what Mattel puts out in the Barbie line after collecting for over two decades. That to me says it's still pretty great. What I didn't like? I really DIDN'T like the Ken Couture doll. Perhaps if they had kept the suit, ditched the puffer, awful shoes (agree with you, needs sleek regular dress shoes.) With a Ryan face mold with nicely cut black hair. IMHO, they need to bring back the Ryan face mold. Because sadly a lot of the Ken face molds are just not that attractive. I think I may be in the minority on this. But something about the "Tate" mold they used for that particular Ken's face, I actually found really off putting. Like creepy, like a too much plastic surgery kind of look or something like that. Eww. Great video Arjen. Very pleasant and calming. 💖☕🌷
I like continuity with collecting, so the articulated silkstone seems funky. The unarticulated silkstones seem more classy and higher end. It also keeps with the original unarticulated Barbie alive. 👎 on articulated silkstones.
I think there are good parts and bad parts to these dolls. I’m just stuck in the past when we got the collectible dolls of the 2000 era. I wish for the price we have to pay they wouldn’t cheapen some aspects of the doll. These are all pretty dolls just not for me. I like you showing them to us though. I’ll stick with the older collector ones.

I really don't like the Ken Kouture doll, his botox lips are too much. 😅 And the fact that he doesn't have a made-to-move body made him an easy pass for me.
The lip comment actually irritates me. Imagine this same mold with darker skin. Nobody would dare comment on the lips. And there are white people with bigger lips.

I like continuity with collecting, so the articulated silkstone seems funky. The unarticulated silkstones seem more classy and higher end. It also keeps with the original unarticulated Barbie alive. 👎 on articulated silkstones.

I think there are good parts and bad parts to these dolls. I’m just stuck in the past when we got the collectible dolls of the 2000 era. I wish for the price we have to pay they wouldn’t cheapen some aspects of the doll. These are all pretty dolls just not for me. I like you showing them to us though. I’ll stick with the older collector ones.

The first two dolls were just fair in their painted face. The Ken doll had the same problem with his painted face.

I really don't like the Ken Kouture doll, his botox lips are too much. 😅 And the fact that he doesn't have a made-to-move body made him an easy pass for me.

The lip comment actually irritates me. Imagine this same mold with darker skin. Nobody would dare comment on the lips. And there are white people with bigger lips.
